He’s so Flirty

Chapter 93

Chapter 93  Little Bean Sprout’s Diary

My name is Little Bean Sprout.

Dad says I wasn’t originally called Little Bean Sprout; I was supposed to be called Little Wild Monkey. Because when I was born, I was wrinkly and looked like a hairless little monkey—very ugly.

When he said this, Mom was standing right behind him, but I didn’t tell him.

However, I interrupted him and didn’t let him continue with the next part I had heard many times.

So, Dad ended up being locked out of the bedroom by Mom again.

…Huh?

You ask what the next part was?

It was, “Your mom is very beautiful; you don’t look like her at all.”

Shh.

Don’t let Mom hear.

Today, the language teacher asked us to write a short essay in class and read it aloud.

The essay topic was “My Dad.”

All the classmates’ dads were impressive—some were engineers, some were pilots, some were scientists.

They were all happy when reading their essays, but I wasn’t happy.

Because I don’t know what Dad does.

After thinking for a long time, I remembered that Uncle Qiao An had told me in secret that Dad is a “strict husband.”

I wrote it down, and the teacher asked me to read it aloud.

But after I finished reading, the teacher and classmates all laughed.

Before class ended, the teacher wrote comments on my essay, saying I had a typo; it should be “strict husband” not “strict airway.”

The teacher also asked me to take the essay home to show Dad.

I was very obedient.

In the afternoon, Uncle Qiao An came to our house again.

But for some reason, his eyes were dark blue, like a giant panda.

Then Mom saw my essay.

That night, she told me that Uncle Qiao An had hurt himself.

During the day, Mom and Dad took me to the amusement park.

I was very happy.

I also saw a man selling cotton candy. It looked delicious. I asked Dad to buy it for me, but he put me aside and went to shield Mom from the sun, ignoring me.

I went to complain to Mom.

Dad wasn’t at all like a man, and when Mom looked at him, he agreed without her saying a word.

Hmm, the cotton candy was really good.

But when Dad was taking me back, he saw Mom talking to another man.

Dad was very angry.

He stared for a long time, but Mom didn’t see him.

So, he said he would teach me to say something to scare the man away.

I refused.

Then Dad said that if the man was scared away, he would buy me a Transformer.

I thought that was acceptable.

I ran over and said to Mom, “Grandma, the cotton candy Grandpa bought me is so sweet—try it!”

Before I could call the man “Grandpa, you try too,” he was already scared away.

Sigh, adults are really timid.

But it was strange—why did Dad end up kneeling at the bedroom door when we got home?

Every time I go out alone with Dad, pretty older girls always sneak up and ask me—

Does your brother have a girlfriend… What’s your brother’s phone number… What does your brother do…

I say he isn’t my brother, he’s my dad, but they always tell me that children shouldn’t lie.

I’m not a child anymore, and I’m not lying.

Uncle Qiao An said they ask these questions because Mom and Dad look too young, like people in their twenties.

Sigh, having such young parents is really troublesome.

But Dad seems even more troubled than I am.

Because pretty older girls often point at me and ask him, “How old is your younger brother? He looks so good-looking.”

Every time Dad hears this, he picks me up and becomes very cold.

“This is my son.”

The pretty older girls get scared away.

I think the cold Dad is a bit cool.

It’s a pity that he can’t be cold when Mom is around.

Today, I followed Dad to the magazine office to pick up Mom after work.

Dad took me to a sofa in the magazine office building and told me to wait there for Mom.

Then he went to take a phone call.

There was a pretty older girl sitting on the sofa. She looked at Dad several times, but Dad didn’t look at her.

I knew Dad must have noticed because Mom said Dad was a special forces elite and had very keen senses.

So Dad was probably pretending not to notice.

So I also pretended not to notice.

But after Dad went away for a while, the girl moved next to me.

“Little brother,” she smiled at me, “Is that your brother? Does he have a girlfriend?”

Same old question.

Why can’t these adults come up with something new?

I thought for a moment and said, “Yes, that’s my brother. He doesn’t have a girlfriend, but I already have a sister-in-law.”

Just as I finished speaking, I saw Mom walk up to us.

Mom’s expression wasn’t quite right.

So I told the girl again.

“It was my brother who told me to say that.”

……

When we got home that night, Dad was locked out of the house by Mom again.

Hmm…

Sorry Dad, I didn’t mean to.

In the past, Dad always took me to parent-teacher meetings.

But Mom said that today Dad had something going on at work, so she had to take me.

Our deputy homeroom teacher is a young male teacher who is very popular with the girls in class.

He usually doesn’t smile much, but today he seemed particularly enthusiastic.

Until the meeting ended, he was still chatting with Mom about my situation.

I was feeling bored when I saw Dad arrive outside the classroom.

He saw Mom and then the male teacher.

Then Dad turned back into the cold, slightly cool Dad.

He walked into the classroom, stood silently behind Mom, and took my other hand.

He stared at the male teacher for a while, and the male teacher was scared away.

On the way back, Dad said he felt sad and couldn’t drive.

Mom drove, and Dad rarely didn’t fight with me for the passenger seat.

But he didn’t let me sit there either.

So we both sat in the back seat.

In the quiet car, Dad suddenly hugged me and said he felt bitter inside.

I asked why.

He stared at Mom in the rearview mirror and said, “Before we reconciled, I missed Tian Tian every day; now that I have Tian Tian, I’m constantly in a sea of jealousy.”

Hmm…

Who is Tian Tian? Is she very sweet?

What is the sea of jealousy? Is it as big as the Coral Sea?
