He’s so Flirty

Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Chapter 50 Wen Yufeng stood behind the railing of the spectator stands, observing for a few seconds before he deduced the extent of the girl’s injury from the way her foot landed incorrectly.

After roughly assessing her condition, Wen Yufeng didn’t hesitate for another moment. He turned around and swiftly descended the narrow steps next to the spectator stands.

But before he could make it halfway down, a teacher standing there blocked his way.

“Non-participants aren’t allowed to enter the competition area or leave the spectator stands without permission. Didn’t your homeroom teacher emphasize that?”

After saying this, the teacher finally recognized the boy standing in front of him—it was Wen Yufeng, the student even Director Sun Xing couldn’t handle.

The teacher’s tone softened. “If there’s an issue, get a permission slip from your homeroom teacher first.”

Wen Yufeng frowned as he glanced down at the track. The other three girls standing there still seemed unaware of Qin Qing’s injury, and his girl was forcing herself to act like nothing was wrong.

His eyes grew cold, and he turned back to return to the stands.

Meanwhile, in the Class 6 section of the spectator stands, the sports monitor, who had just returned from his event, noticed the class banner placed in the front and asked the person next to him, “Where’s Yufeng? Isn’t he supposed to be here?”

“Just now, it seemed like he was heading towards the stairs… Oh, isn’t that him coming back?”

Following the direction of the conversation, the sports monitor, Song Lin, looked up and saw Wen Yufeng approaching with a cold expression and a fierce gaze.

Startled, Song Lin instinctively stepped aside.

At that moment, Wen Yufeng had already reached the front of the spectator stands and stopped between the first row and the outer railing.

Relieved that Wen Yufeng wasn’t coming to pick a fight with him, Song Lin gathered his courage and approached him.

“Yufeng, I’ve finished my event, so I’ll just take the banner—”

Before Song Lin could finish his sentence, Wen Yufeng turned to him and asked, “Does the class have any ice packs?”

“Huh?” Song Lin was momentarily confused but answered honestly, “The class doesn’t have any, but the sports department should have some.”

“Good,” Wen Yufeng responded, turning his gaze back to the field. “Go get an ice pack.”

Song Lin was puzzled. “Huh? What do you need an ice pack for…?”

Before he could finish his sentence, he watched in shock as Wen Yufeng placed his left hand on the outer railing and smoothly vaulted over it.

—

In an instant, Wen Yufeng’s figure disappeared from his sight.

“Yufeng!?”

Three whole seconds passed before Song Lin snapped out of his daze. He, along with the other Class 6 students and some from neighboring classes who had noticed the situation, rushed to the railing and peered down.

Below, at least two meters down, Wen Yufeng stood up straight, his expression dark. Under the astonished gazes of the nearby teachers, referees, and students warming up, he walked straight toward the finish line of the girls’

4x400m relay.

At the same time, Zhao Zirui, who was also warming up nearby, withdrew his gaze with a complicated expression.

—

It seemed that the top spot on next month’s “blacklist” was already preemptively reserved for Yufeng.

…

The commotion caused by Wen Yufeng wasn’t too big, but it was more than enough for Qin Qing, who was not far away, to see the entire sequence of events.

Watching as the boy in the light gray zip-up hoodie and black pants approached with a less-than-pleased expression, Qin Qing felt a headache starting to match the pain in her ankle.

The three other girls from Class 6 who were with her in the relay race were even more terrified. They all looked at Qin Qing with wide eyes.

“What’s going on?”

“From his expression… it doesn’t seem like he’s coming to celebrate our victory…”

“Didn’t Mr. Shen say not to enter the competition area without permission? But Qin Qing, he’s here for you, right? He looks pretty scary…”

As the three whispered among themselves, Wen Yufeng had already walked to within a meter of them.

At the same time, the teacher in charge of the event walked over, frowning.

“Didn’t I say that non-participants aren’t allowed in the competition area?”

“…”

Wen Yufeng glanced coldly at Qin Qing before turning his expressionless gaze to the teacher.

“Our classmate is injured, and since you’re too busy enforcing the rules to notice, we’ll have to handle it ourselves.”

The teacher was momentarily stunned by this direct response, then his face flushed with anger. “Hey, how do you talk to a teacher like that!?”

“…”

Even after hearing that a student was injured, this teacher still only cared about saving face. It was infuriating…

Wen Yufeng’s eyes flashed with a dangerous anger, but he quickly suppressed it.

Without a word, he closed the last meter of distance between himself and Qin Qing, then swiftly scooped her up by the waist and placed her on a bench in the resting area.

Once she was seated, Qin Qing snapped out of her daze, her expression changing. “Wen Yufeng, are you crazy? Didn’t Mr. Shen just say—”

“I think you’re the one who’s crazy.”

Wen Yufeng looked down at her, his dark eyes radiating a coldness that sent shivers down her spine.

After a brief stare-down, Qin Qing finally lowered her head, feeling guilty. Only then did Wen Yufeng turn his head to address the other girls in their class.

“She twisted her left ankle. Go to the spectator stands and tell Song Lin to throw down an ice pack.”

With that, Wen Yufeng turned back around.

His handsome face remained emotionless, as if it were carved from stone.

He stood there, staring down at Qin Qing’s bowed head for a long moment before finally sighing.

Then, he reached out and gently ruffled her hair.

“Can’t you just let me relax for a bit, Qin Qing?”

“…”

Qin Qing tried to hide her injured left foot under the bench, feeling even guiltier.

“It’s really not a big deal… I just twisted it a little during the sprint before the baton exchange. It doesn’t hurt that much…”

Without saying a word, Wen Yufeng knelt down in front of her, bringing himself eye level with her.

He carefully grasped her left calf.

The soft skin under his hand quivered slightly.

Wen Yufeng looked up, meeting Qin Qing’s wide, innocent eyes, filled with a deer-like nervousness as she looked at him.

“…”

Wen Yufeng’s gaze deepened. After a couple of seconds, he lowered his eyes and spoke in a low, raspy voice, “You said it doesn’t hurt?”

Despite his words, his actions were as gentle as could be.

He slowly removed her shoe with the lightest touch, then carefully placed her foot on his knee.

Throughout the process, Wen Yufeng made sure Qin Qing showed no signs of pain before he finally relaxed a little.

He rolled up the leg of her athletic pants slightly and pulled down her light blue sock halfway.

Her smooth, milky-white calf and the swollen, reddened ankle were exposed to everyone.

Perhaps because her skin was so fair—like the most delicate and smooth milk—the contrast made the injury look even more severe.

As soon as the injury was revealed, the teachers and students who had gradually gathered around all reacted with a mix of concern and discomfort.

Wen Yufeng, who was still kneeling there, looked as if his normally fair face had turned pitch black with anger.

He looked up, his eyes as dark as coal, and his lips pressed into a sharp, grim line.

“When you twist your ankle, you’re not supposed to put weight on it—

that’s common sense. Don’t you understand?”

It was the first time Qin Qing had faced the full brunt of Wen Yufeng’s cold fury, and she instinctively shrank back, her voice soft and pitiful, “I didn’t think it would be this bad. I just wanted to make it back to the class to… find you.”

“…”

The anger that had been simmering inside Wen Yufeng, enough to make him feel like a volcano about to erupt, suddenly deflated like a balloon at those last three words.

In an instant, all his anger evaporated.

“Ice pack! Ice pack coming through!”

Just as the atmosphere was becoming more awkward, a voice broke the silence.

The three girls who had been in the relay with Qin Qing returned, holding the ice pack Song Lin had thrown to them.

When Wen Yufeng took the ice pack, the girl who handed it over shivered and exclaimed, “It’s freezing!”

She quickly bundled herself in her autumn coat and retreated.

Wen Yufeng frowned as he held the ice pack.

“Why is it so cold?”

“It seems the sports department just took it out of the freezer,” one of the girls explained awkwardly.

“…”

Hearing this, Wen Yufeng frowned even more. He glanced around but couldn’t find anything suitable.

Qin Qing couldn’t help but whisper, “It’s okay, we can wait a bit before applying the cold compress…”

But Wen Yufeng didn’t respond. Instead, he reached up and unzipped his light gray hoodie.

Two seconds later, he had taken off the hoodie, revealing a black short-sleeved T-shirt underneath.

Beneath the sleeve, his right arm bore a hideous scar, still pink with new flesh.

Everyone who saw the scar—whether they were students or teachers—

instinctively averted their eyes, their expressions uncomfortable.

Some even took a step back.

Qin Qing noticed all of this. She bit her lower lip gently, and her hands balled into fists at her sides.

She didn’t like the way they looked at him.

But Wen Yufeng seemed oblivious to it all. He wrapped the ice pack in his hoodie, then carefully placed it against Qin Qing’s left ankle, which rested on his knee.

After securing it in place, he looked up at her from his crouched position.

“Is it too cold?”

His voice was soft, his expression cautious and gentle.

“…”

Qin Qing felt something soft and warm pierce her heart, like a needle, but it didn’t hurt; it just left her feeling a bit tingly.

She relaxed her clenched hands, her eyes curving as a smile lifted the corners of her mouth.

The girl sitting there slowly shook her head.

“It’s not cold.”

…

“Wen Yufeng… thank you for being here.”
