Gun of Ashes

Chapter 895 895: Curtain Call, Goodbye

Chapter 895 895: Curtain Call, Goodbye

This is quite a nice moment, tranquil and comfortable, with warm sunshine and a peaceful world outside the window, and only a solitary man and woman inside... Of course, the other two strange guys aren't counted by Red Falcon.

What a wonderful scene, looking back on Red Falcon's life, he hasn't had many moments like this, illuminated by sunlight. Red Falcon thought of that fairly decent afternoon, when Erin was still called Gloria, and he was unaware of this terrifying chaos.

It's as if the timeline was interrupted and disrupted, the chaotic and frenzied battle in the middle was completely forgotten, and now everything connected back to that wonderful afternoon.

For a moment, Red Falcon's heart almost stopped.

He looked into Erin's eyes. After the brief beauty, Red Falcon suddenly remembered what kind of person the guy in front of him really was. Although the hostility had weakened a lot, Erin's wicked nature was still reminding Red Falcon.

"Cock-a-doodle-doo!"

Red Falcon made a rooster call.

He broke free from Erin's hold, clutched the blanket tight around himself, then kicked his feet to hide at the head of the bed, until his whole back was pressed against the wall with no more room to move.

"You look like a lady being teased."

Erin shook her head, somewhat helpless at Red Falcon's absurd reaction.

"To be precise, a good man's wife."

Red Falcon emphasized again.

What a strange woman... speaking of which, why was she taken in for treatment together with him? Logically, shouldn't she be locked up in prison? Why didn't Hebdo take her to the Viking countries when he left?

A surge of waves rose in Red Falcon's mind, but soon the icy cold froze everything. Red Falcon saw Erin sitting at the edge of the bed, pretending to be disgusted with a sly smile, her slender hand tracing up along the sheet until it reached Red Falcon's foot.

"Ahhhhh! What on earth are you doing!"

Red Falcon's mind collapsed, he couldn't stand this damned woman.

His feelings for Erin were complicated. Sometimes he still remembered that beautiful afternoon, but thinking about Erin's nature made him feel like a damned mocking laugh overshadowed his beautiful memory, as if someone was hiding in the shadows, mocking his behavior.

Red Falcon also thought about developing an office romance, but upon careful consideration, concluded much like before, many colleagues didn't even recognize their names before they died, and there were lucky ones who survived, but each of them were demon-slaying warriors.

But these were Red Falcon's brothers from life and death! How could he talk about love with brothers?

Strange and wonderful ideas raced by incessantly, the pitiful Red Falcon being toyed with casually by Erin.

"Hahaha!"

Erin wasn't making fun of Red Falcon, she burst out laughing, almost to tears.

"I have to say, I've seen many people, but I haven't seen anyone as interesting as you, Moon."

Red Falcon didn't want to respond to her. To his ears, Erin's "interesting" was not a compliment.

"What on earth are you doing?"

Red Falcon asked again. He didn't believe Erin was just messing with him out of boredom; this guy must have some purpose.

This time Erin became a bit more serious, stopped laughing, and kept her gaze on Red Falcon as before.

"I'm thinking about what to do next."

"Next?"

"Yeah, next. Haven't you thought about it? What we should do after leaving this hospital."

Erin said as she looked out the window, her gaze appearing somewhat lost.

"Do what we should do, go to work, rest when we need to."

Red Falcon didn't think this was a tough question. To Red Falcon, he might have a few days to recuperate after leaving the hospital, then report back to the Purification Mechanism, repeating the routine he had repeated countless times, returning to the accustomed life.

To Red Falcon's answer, Erin sighed a bit helplessly, although she could guess Red Falcon's answer, hearing him say it still left her a bit unwilling.

"You really are a pure guy." Erin said.

"Explain clearly!"

"You are a simple guy."

Erin repeated, ignoring Red Falcon's exaggerated gestures, and started speaking again.

"You, this guy... it's like all this has nothing to do with you, Moon, you won't be affected by it, nor will it upset you," Erin stood up, walked to the window, looking at this warm world, "war is coming, everyone is very tense, very confused."

"Except for you, I bet you're thinking about going fishing after being discharged, right?"

Red Falcon couldn't understand what Erin was saying, he just answered according to his own thoughts.

"What else? I'm just an employee, I go back to work after the holiday, if they want to start a war, then start a war, that's my job, what can I do?"

Red Falcon seemed optimistic, then his expression turned strange, as if he had caught Erin's little secret.

"Wait... are you confused? Erin."

Red Falcon suddenly realized why Erin was saying all this, the woman in front of him was confused, she's bewildered, like a lost lamb, at a loss in a desolate wilderness.

What a perfect moment for a counterattack, but just as Red Falcon was about to mock Erin, he suddenly realized this could be a trap. Given the ruthless nature of a woman like Erin, how could she be confused? She must be setting a trap for him.
