Guide To Train My Beast Husbands

Chapter 349: Better Than Nothing (II)

Chapter 349: Better Than Nothing (II)

Father Hei was clear about this one thing. Even if Xie Daiyu did not make a move now, it was all because he was too worried about Ruan Chanchan and did not have the time to care about Hei Ya. But if Ruan Chanchan had died, then his son would have died at the hands of Xie Daiyu for sure! Fortunately, Ruan Chanchan was fine, and his son could survive.

Though his pride would be wounded, as he had been demoted to a little slave, it was still better than dying.

Hei Ya knew that this was better than anything. Even if he had something to say about this outcome, he couldn’t. So he could only swallow his pride and nod. At least his life was no longer in danger!

"Is this okay?" Xie Suicheng asked his father once he turned his gaze away from Hei Ya and his family. "He did not do anything; if anything, he is also a victim. Reducing him to the position of a slave was unjust. After all, he did what Xiao Ya and Shao Xia asked him to do. Why was his father only punishing Hei Ya and not the other two women?

Father Xie rolled his eyes and smacked his son on the back of his neck. He said to him in a reproachful voice, "Are you an idiot? Do you think that if your mother had punished those two, they would have accepted the punishment without fighting back? Though Shao Xia has let go of your brother, she still has supporters in the tribe. If your mother had tried to punish the two of them, then do you think that they are fools who would have bowed their heads and acknowledged that they did something wrong?"

Father Xie shook his head. "They knew what they were doing and had long been prepared. Even if Hei Ya had insisted that they were the ones who asked him to do it, can he prove it?"

He then sighed and added, "You should also be wary of those two women, especially that Shao Xia; I have a feeling that her ambitions have grown way too much. She is now willing to kill people for what she wants to get. It’s better if you stay away from her, or else who knows what she might do?" Father Xie shot a furtive yet wary glance at the woman who was the crux of the problem.

He knew that Shao Xia was thinking of jumping the tribes, but he had a feeling that this woman was not going to leave their tribe that easily. She must be planning something terrible. He did not even want to start thinking about what might even be going on in the head of this woman.

Father Xie’s head was filled with all sorts of worries, and no one knew what he was thinking.

As for Xie Suicheng, he sheepishly smiled at his father and said, "I was just thinking that it was unfair that they got off so easily. I mean, if we are speaking about culprits. They are the ones who are the biggest culprits."

"The world is never fair," snorted Father Xie. "It belongs to those who are skilled and strong. Hei Ya failed because he allowed himself to be fooled by that woman; if he were any better, he would have thought twice before even making that move. Or at least arranged for a way out. But he did not. Which only proves that he is a fool and there is no place for a fool in this world."

After he finished speaking, Father Xie turned around on his feet and walked away. The tribe was at unrest, and as the patriarch of the tribe, he had countless responsibilities that he needed to deal with.

Xie Suicheng watched his father leave and sighed. He wondered how things had escalated to this point; clearly, they had been living peacefully till now. In fact, if Shao Xia hadn’t gone crazy all of a sudden, then she would have become his sister-in-law long ago. He shook his head and then walked over to the square, where he picked up a hind leg that had been roasted and seasoned before going to look for his elder brother.

Xie Daiyu was in his cave. Because he was pregnant and Shao Xia had come to harass him quite a few times, he had locked himself up in the cave, making sure that he only left the place to get food and clean himself. Other than that, he hardly ever left the cave. Xie Suicheng was the one who took care of his meals by hunting every day.

"Brother, you should eat something now," Xie Suicheng said to Xie Daiyu as he stepped inside the cave with the roasted meat. He looked at his brother, who was looking at the moon in the sky. When he saw the look of longing on his brother’s face, he sighed and said to him, "Brother, I know that you miss her, but there is no point in starving yourself. Think about the children in your belly. Do you really want to harm them by refusing to eat? Anyway, we have found her, and you can soon go to look for her in a few days."

Xie Daiyu snapped out of his daze as he placed his hands on his belly. He did not say anything and simply stared at the flat surface of his abdomen. When he heard that Ruan Chanchan was gone, he really wanted to die. Xie Daiyu really did not want to live but now that he knew that Ruan Chanchan was alive, the hope in his heart had rekindled. He pursed his lips and took the roasted hind leg from his brother and asked him, "What happened to the culprits?"

Xie Suicheng: "..."

He did not know how to answer that question; for all he knew, Shao Xia had somehow managed to wriggle her way out of the punishment and it was not something that his brother was going to like.

"What?"
