Guide To Train My Beast Husbands

Chapter 335: He Wanted To Be With Her At Every Turn

Chapter 335: He Wanted To Be With Her At Every Turn

"I told you to take proper care of her."

"Your highness, I indeed did as you asked, but I never thought that the children would be so naughty. They startled Miss Ruan."

"What do you mean, they startled her? Is this how you should be treating your guest?"

"But your highness, I had no idea that something like this could scare Miss Ruan."

"Is this your excuse? Ruan Chanchan is not a totem warrior; of course, she is different from us. You should have told the kids not to do anything that would terrify her. It’s a good thing that she is doing well, or else I am worried that we would have gone to war with the Big Bear Tribe. Though they are not strong, they are not weak either."

Terrifying.

War.

Ruan Chanchan snapped her eyes open as soon as she recalled the sight of the girl jumping off the cliff. Because she had not expected to see the girl jumping off, she was scared out of her mind and ended up worrying about the wrong thing. As if the little totem warrior would be injured just because she jumped off a small cliff. Now that she realised the truth was different from what she thought, Ruan Chanchan felt like she was a little fool who was overthinking quite a lot of things.

"Miss Ruan?"

"Ruan Chanchan?"

Rong Xian and Master Luo both turned to look at Ruan Chanchan, who had sat up straight in her straw bed. She looked at the two of them and then apologetically said, "I apologise. It seems like I might have created some ruckus without knowing the gist of the situation." Ahhh! How embarrassing. How could she forget that these people were not simple human beings? They were totem warriors who could shift into beast forms. What was she even thinking? Arghhh!

Ruan Chanchan had never been so embarrassed in her life as she was at that moment. If she could, she would have rather jumped down the cliff and ended her life then and there, but she had no such choice. Even if she wanted to jump down the cliff, she would only make a joke of herself at that moment.

"You don’t need to apologise," said Rong Xian as he walked over and took her hand in his. "You were just worried about the kid. It is normal that you did not think it through; in fact, I believe it is the kid’s fault for startling you like that. Isn’t it right, Zhou Fan?"

Zhou Fan, who was skulking outside, jumped in the air when she heard her name. She walked inside the cave with the air of someone who had committed a grave sin. Her head was lowered, and she said to Ruan Chanchan in an aggrieved voice, "I am sorry, Miss Ruan. I didn’t know that my actions would scare you. I only wanted to hunt something when you said we had run out of meat. I didn’t think it through, and it is my fault for acting spontaneously."

She felt that she was too rash just now. She even scared Miss Ruan so much that the poor woman fainted; the prince was right. Miss Ruan was not like them and had a faint heart. She shouldn’t have scared her.

Just as Zhou Fan was spiralling into her thoughts, a warm hand reached out and touched her on the head. Startled, she raised her head and looked at Ruan Chanchan, who smiled at her warmly. "There is no need to apologise. You just wanted your friends to have more to eat, right?"

Zhou Fan, who had been scolded left and right, could no longer stay calm. She burst into tears and started to sob, "That’s right, I just wanted everyone to eat, but I never knew that my actions would scare you. I am sorry! Wahhhh!!" Zhou Fan, for a second, felt like everyone had abandoned her. They kept scolding her for scaring the guest, but not one of them thought that she was only doing it because she wanted to help the kids who were starving. This was the first time she had seen them eat so happily ever since they were hoodwinked.

So why was she scolded so messily?

This was the first time someone had told her that she did not do anything wrong. So how could she not cry?

Ruan Chanchan sighed helplessly when she heard the child’s crying. She said to her, "Alright, stop crying. What did you catch? Can you show me? I still need to assess it before I can think of cooking it."

"Miss Ruan!" Rong Xian turned worried when he heard Ruan Chanchan say that she was going to cook again. Though he wanted Ruan Chanchan to help the people of the tribe, he did not want her to push herself to her limits.

"I am alright." Ruan Chanchan knew what the mer was worried about and slowly stood up. She said to him, "I am doing just fine; there is no need to worry about me just because I fainted." Ruan Chanchan did not want to be treated like she was some sort of porcelain doll just because she fainted once. Nor was she willing to concede defeat just because her body felt lethargic.

Rong Xian did not want her to move or cook any further, but before he could say those words, he realised that he couldn’t say them because what right did he have to say such words to Ruan Chanchan? He was just the prince of the territory who was supposed to be taking care of her in exchange for the help that she was providing. That was all there was to his role, and yet Rong Xian felt stifled just thinking about how he could do nothing to stop Ruan Chanchan.

And that made him frustrated. Why? Why was he trapped in such a ridiculous situation? Why could he not care about Ruan Chanchan openly? He wanted to do it. He wanted to be there for her at every turn.
