Chapter 123: Rock Demon Incarnation

Chapter 123: Rock Demon Incarnation

Li Wei took off the Spatial Ring and tossed the severed hand into the dark river.

He instructed the Shadow Attendant, "Next time, just bring back the loot. You don’t need to bring back severed hands."

The Shadow Attendant nodded, though it only seemed to half-understand.

From its perspective, the severed hand was also part of the loot.

Unfortunately, Li Wei had no need for it.

Li Wei released his Spiritual Power, attempting to open the Spatial Ring.

He discovered Wilder’s Spiritual Brand within the Spatial Ring, which blocked his Spiritual Power from entering.

It was like a lock and key.

The Spatial Ring only recognized Wilder’s Spiritual Power, preventing anyone else from opening it.

But if there’s a lock, there’s also a way to pick it.

The simplest method was to directly overwhelm and shatter the Spiritual Brand Wilder had left behind.

This required relatively strong Spiritual Power.

At the very least, one’s Spiritual Power had to be stronger than that of the person who left the brand.

Li Wei released his Spiritual Power, letting it seep into the Spatial Ring to purge Wilder’s Spiritual Brand.

’This feels even easier than practicing the Illusion Technique.’

’Wilder’s Spiritual Power doesn’t seem very strong. It feels weaker than mine,’ Li Wei thought.

Under the relentless purging of his Spiritual Power, the Spiritual Brand grew increasingly faint.

CRACK!

Finally, the Spiritual Brand shattered, and the Spatial Ring was forced open.

’That was surprisingly easy. It seems Wilder’s Spiritual Power really was weaker than mine.’

’Could it be because of my Spiritual Awakening?’

Li Wei wasn’t entirely sure.

But that was likely part of the reason.

Besides, Wilder was a Ring Mage, a path that didn’t emphasize Spiritual Power Cultivation.

His Spiritual Power was a bit weaker than a traditional Mage of the same level.

He left his own Spiritual Brand inside the Spatial Ring.

Li Wei began to inspect the ring’s contents.

He was instantly thrilled by what he found.

’Sure enough, Mages are loaded!’

Inside Wilder’s Spatial Ring were three pieces of Secret Silver Ore, each one as large as two or three fists.

They were all larger than the Secret Silver Ore Li Wei had obtained before.

This meant he had also found a piece of Secret Silver Ore while trapped underground.

’No wonder he didn’t want to leave. He probably wasn’t lost at all, just looking for Secret Silver Ore and didn’t want to get out.’

Li Wei recalled hearing Lei An mention a "Teleportation Scroll" at the end.

He guessed Wilder had been teleported away.

But this was underground. Where could he have been teleported to?

If he was unlucky, he might have been teleported into solid rock and crushed to death instantly.

Li Wei certainly hoped Wilder was dead.

Even better if Lei An was dead, too.

That way, no one would know he’d obtained Wilder’s Spatial Ring.

Li Wei transferred the contents of his pockets into the Spatial Ring, then carefully tucked the ring itself away in his pocket.

He wouldn’t be stupid enough to wear it on his finger.

What if someone recognized it?

’I wonder if I completely removed Wilder’s Spiritual Brand?’

’To be safe, I’d better use this Spatial Ring sparingly.’

’I’ll find a better way to erase the Spiritual Brand once I’m back.’

Li Wei headed for the exit.

The contents of Wilder’s Spatial Ring were a jumbled mess. He decided to sort through it all after he got back.

First, he needed to put the Ant King’s carapace into the Spatial Ring.

He couldn’t risk someone else taking it.

’Lei An... are you really an instructor at the Knight Academy?’

Li Wei had his doubts.

"Heh heh, I knew there was someone else back there."

Lei An’s voice came from up ahead.

Li Wei stopped in his tracks.

"Lilia, what are you doing here?"

Seeing her, Lei An looked astonished, clearly surprised to find her here.

"Who are you? I don’t know you," Lilith said.

At this, a look of understanding dawned on Lei An’s face.

"Ah, so it’s you," Lei An said, his interest flagging. "Forget it. If it’s you, I have no desire to fight."

"Why are you following me?" Lei An asked.

Lilith said, "I’m lost."

"..."

"Follow me," Lei An said.

Li Wei waited until he heard their footsteps fade into the distance before he continued to follow.

’Lei An knows Lilia? And he even knows about her second personality?’

Li Wei grew extremely suspicious of Lei An’s true identity.

There was no way he was just an instructor from the Knight Academy.

Lei An had most likely been a Professional from Cold Sand City at some point.

’A Half-Beastman?’

Li Wei grew suspicious.

Lilith could hide her beast ears, concealing her Half-Beastman features.

Perhaps Lei An had a similar method.

Lei An’s ridiculously powerful physique certainly fit the profile of a Half-Beastman Professional.

Professionals from the Beastman Race typically have stronger physiques than human Professionals of the same level.

They are more likely to awaken Extraordinary Traits that enhance their physique.

Half-Beastmen inherited this trait as well.

Only a tiny fraction of the Beastman Race possesses a talent for Magic.

Of the three great races—the Human Race, the Beastman Race, and the Elves.

Elves have the greatest talent for Magic; nearly all of them can wield it.

Humans come next. Thanks to their vast population, the number of Human Mages is no smaller than that of the Elves.

Beastmen have the lowest aptitude for Magic. Even with a population larger than that of humans, Beastman Mages are few and far between.

Instead, they are more likely to be Beastman Wizards or Bloodline Mages, possessing innate spells.

They only know how to use Magic, not how to pursue the Magic Truth.

As for races like Goblins, Dwarves, Giants, and the Dragon Race.

Due to their very small populations, they cannot be compared to the three great races.

Each race has its own characteristics.

The Beastman Race has a weak aptitude for Magic, but they possess formidable physiques and brute strength.

An adult Beastman who has never undergone Cultivation is still stronger and more robust than a well-trained human soldier.

Some Beastmen with special bloodlines have Power and physiques that can even rival Extraordinary Professionals.

Following behind Lei An and Lilith, Li Wei found the exit.

But when he stepped out of the mine, there was no sign of Lei An or Lilith.

A rock giant over five meters tall stood in the center of the camp.

The bodies of several black-robed figures lay scattered around it.

COUGH!

The rock giant held a black-robed man in its grasp, preparing to beat him to death.

Li Wei quickly shouted, "Stay your hand!"

The rock giant raised its head to look at Li Wei. If it hadn’t recognized him, it probably would have treated him as an accomplice of the Assassins.

Allen’s voice emanated from within the rock giant.

"Why?"

Li Wei said quickly, "He’s the leader of the Assassins. If we keep him alive, we can find out who’s behind them."

Hearing this, Allen glanced at the person in his hand.

He broke the man’s limbs and tossed him to the ground.

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Rock and soil began to peel away from the giant’s body.

Allen slowly descended.

A look of surprise crossed Li Wei’s face; he hadn’t expected the rock giant to actually be Allen.

He asked curiously, "What kind of spell is that?"

Allen said, "It’s not a spell. It’s an Extraordinary Trait."

After advancing to Tier Four and becoming a Grand Mage, Allen had obtained a new Extraordinary Trait—Rock Demon Incarnation.

Using Rock Demon Incarnation consumes all of his Mana to absorb surrounding earth and transform into a rock giant.

The more Mana he has, the stronger the transformed rock giant becomes.

The ability originates from the Rock Demon Beast.

Hearing this, Li Wei didn’t ask any more questions.

It would be impolite to press further.

He glanced at the bodies lying around and understood that the assassination plan had completely failed.

Allen’s strength far exceeded their imagination.
