Gorgeous Female Tenants

Chapter 327: Set Break

Chapter 327: Set Break

Hearing Iron Head say to let Hua Ji handle things however he wanted, Liu Daming felt very unwilling, not knowing Iron Head’s good intentions. Iron Head saying this made Xu Xiangbei a bit annoyed, but he couldn’t take action.

And Hua Ji, being short and not strong, even if he hit Liu Daming a few times, it would just feel like scratching an itch.

But Iron Head tugged on Liu Daming’s clothes and whispered in his ear, "Let the little guy take action; it’s much better than letting Doctor Xu do it. If Doctor Xu takes action, you’ll end up in the hospital. Listen to me, don’t move recklessly."

Liu Daming trusted Iron Head’s words the most and could only stand there helplessly, not daring to move.

Xu Xiangbei smiled and said to Hua Ji, "Hua Ji, this is a conflict between you and him, handle it yourself. Rest assured, no one will lay a finger on you."

Hua Ji gritted his teeth, picked up a bottle of wine, and walked towards Liu Daming.

Liu Daming thought Hua Ji was going to hit him with the bottle, and he turned pale with fear, looking bitterly at Iron Head, but Iron Head turned his face to the side, as if to say, just bear with it.

Unexpectedly, instead of smashing the bottle, Hua Ji handed it to Liu Daming, "Drink this bottle of wine, and our grievances will be written off. Actually, your modified car is really trash; my modified car is a hundred times better than yours. That’s enough, hitting you would just show I’m not on your level."

After saying this, Hua Ji walked back to his own room with Xu Xiangbei, head held high.

And Liu Daming, holding the bottle Hua Ji handed to him, stared blankly at Hua Ji’s back, not expecting Hua Ji, who had always been petty, to let him off so generously today.

His facial muscles twitched a few times, and with a complex expression, he tilted his head back and drank all the beer in the bottle, then said to Iron Head and his companions, "Let’s go, no more drinking."

Later, Hua Ji was almost dead drunk, and Qian Feng was equally drunk, but the bad part was that Hua Ji hadn’t booked a hotel on this trip to Earth Sea, eager to help Xu Xiangbei modify a car.

Qian Feng took a taxi home, so Xu Xiangbei had no choice but to take Hua Ji back to his small apartment for the night; the living room’s long sofa was just right for someone of Hua Ji’s size.

The elevator was still being repaired on the ground floor of the small apartment, with a sign standing there. Xu Xiangbei spat at the sign, thinking, "In a couple of days I’ll move to a nicely renovated villa and won’t have to put up with this crap anymore."

Hua Ji was small and light, so Xu Xiangbei easily carried him upstairs, but going up the stairs attracted surprised and disdainful looks from a neighboring auntie.

The image of a big man carrying another small man with rooster-like hair was indeed a bit awkward.

Xu Xiangbei, who had also drunk a bit too much, suddenly wanted to explain to the neighbor auntie how pure and innocent he was.

But it scared the neighbor auntie, who screamed and ran back home, slamming the door shut, leaving a floral slipper behind at the door.

"Auntie, sorry, I didn’t mean it. You dropped your shoe."

Finally reaching his small apartment, Xu Xiangbei picked up his keys to open the door, but the door was opened from inside, and he found himself standing in the shadow of the tall Lu Xiaomei.

"Brother Xu, you’re back. Are you carrying a dog?"

Fortunately, Hua Ji was groggy and didn’t hear Lu Xiaomei mistaking him for a dog; he just wondered why Lu Xiaomei didn’t mistake him for a rooster.

After all, he had styled his hair into a colorful, rooster-comb-like crest on his head—what dog would have such a hairstyle?

Xu Xiangbei wasn’t concerned about Lu Xiaomei mistaking Hua Ji for a dog; he was more curious as to why Lu Xiaomei was in the apartment when she should be with Gu Xinyan at the film set.

Could it be that the set was on break?

"Lu Xiaomei, what are you doing here?"

From inside came Gu Xinyan’s slightly reproachful voice, "Brother Xu, you came home so late; were you out having too much fun without me?"

Xu Xiangbei couldn’t quite figure out the situation; why did it feel like Gu Xinyan sounded like a neglected middle-aged wife?

Lu Xiaomei turned and shushed softly, "Miss Gu, quiet down; Brother Xu brought a sleeping dog home."

"We can’t keep a dog in here."

Xu Xiangbei sighed, wondering if it was the right choice to have asked Lu Xiaomei to take care of Gu Xinyan, as he felt his IQ was nearly zero after spending so much time with her.

He took a breath and corrected Lu Xiaomei, "I’m not carrying a dog, it’s a person."

With Lu Xiaomei looking shocked, Xu Xiangbei tossed Hua Ji onto the sofa.

The light was still on in Gu Xinyan’s room; she was sitting in her wheelchair looking at him, with a face as ethereal as an Elf Princess untouched by the world.

She gently tucked her hair behind her ear and softly said, "The film set had a night shoot today; I got back late. Starting tomorrow, the set will be on break for a few days. Go to bed early."

After she finished speaking, Gu Xinyan gently closed the door, but Xu Xiangbei wedged his toe in the door crack, pushing it open again.

Gu Xinyan didn’t seem surprised, as if she had expected Xu Xiangbei to do this; a faint ambiguous smile appeared at the corner of her lips.

Looking at Gu Xinyan’s extraordinary face, with no makeup but still vibrant lips, Xu Xiangbei felt heat rising from his abdomen straight to his mind.

He grinned cheekily, "Haven’t seen me in days; don’t you want to chat a little longer?"

Gu Xinyan lowered her eyes gently, her expression serene as the night, her gaze as calm as water, "It’s late; we can continue talking tomorrow."

Xu Xiangbei, like admiring a flower, stared intently at Gu Xinyan and grinned, "I think you’ve lost a bit of weight, and you’re looking even better."

As sharp-tongued as ever, Gu Xinyan smiled faintly, like a blooming white lily—a hint of allure in her coolness, tempting sympathy.

"Really? Thank you for the compliment. I feel like you’ve put on a bit of weight. You seem to be living quite lavishly without me around, even bringing a man home for the night."

Xu Xiangbei smiled wryly, ready to say more, but felt an overwhelming force push him to the ground. Lu Xiaomei shoved him aside, entering the room, and said in her thick voice, "Brother Xu, I’m tired; I want to sleep."

Seeing the bedding on the floor in the bedroom, it looked like Lu Xiaomei was sleeping on a futon.

Lu Xiaomei carried Gu Xinyan to the bed; under the white silk long skirt, a pair of small feet as white as jade were exposed, with toes as tender as spring onions.

Xu Xiangbei lingered over the sight for a couple of seconds before the bedroom door slammed shut, almost hitting his nose, causing him to complain that Lu Xiaomei was too rough.

Xu Xiangbei took a blanket from the bedroom and covered Hua Ji with it; Hua Ji’s size was just right for the sofa, and he seemed to be sleeping quite comfortably.

"Good night, everyone."

Xu Xiangbei closed his bedroom door. After a long and tiring day, he couldn’t take it anymore and soon fell into a deep sleep.
