Gorgeous Female Tenants

Chapter 324: Turning Defeat into Victory

Chapter 324: Turning Defeat into Victory

When planning to take Route B, Liu Ningyan had reminded Xu Xiangbei that someone would blockade him, but he didn’t expect it to happen so suddenly.

Looking at the blocked road, Xu Xiangbei felt a sense of helplessness—could he really lose just like that?

He secretly cursed, "Shameless, despicable."

On the other end of the phone, Liu Ningyan’s anxious voice came through, "Quickly squeeze out from the alley on your right and switch to Route C; there’s still time."

Xu Xiangbei’s heart was once again filled with fighting spirit; it wasn’t over yet, and he still had a chance to win. He couldn’t give up easily.

He slammed on the accelerator, and the Porsche darted into the alley on the right, knocking over several trash cans placed at the doorsteps. When Xu Xiangbei emerged from the alley, the car’s front bumper was scratched, and the body was full of abrasions, which made his heart ache.

Strangely enough, there was a terrified black cat clinging to the windshield, and a huge pair of floral underwear was hanging from the wiper.

Xu Xiangbei’s heart ached—his brand-new car had turned into a bumper car. But there was no choice; if he hadn’t taken that alley, he wouldn’t be able to continue the race.

Xu Xiangbei turned on the wiper, scaring the black cat away with a meow, and the giant floral underwear was blown off by the strong wind.

Fortunately, Liu Ningyan had given him three routes, allowing Xu Xiangbei to see a glimmer of hope in his desperation.

However, as he traveled more than half of Route C, Liu Ningyan’s voice came through again, once more bringing despair.

"Not good, that bridge was just blocked with a cement mixer truck."

Xu Xiangbei slammed the horn in anger; it was Qin Daming’s trick. No wonder he had such a sinister look before the race; he had planned it all along.

Xu Xiangbei looked at the terrain map on his navigation system, which was the latest electronic navigation, indicating that he was approaching the blocked bridge soon.

Looking at the white, rushing water, Xu Xiangbei sighed lightly in his heart; if only his car could transform into a plane like a Transformer and fly over the river.

Thinking of flying over the river, Xu Xiangbei suddenly had an idea. "Liu Ningyan, where is the river narrowest, and how wide is it?"

Soon, Liu Ningyan’s voice came through, "Just twenty meters ahead is the narrowest part of the river, estimated to be thirty meters wide. What do you plan to do? Don’t tell me you want to fly over it?"

Xu Xiangbei pulled a smile at the corner of his mouth, "Of course I want to fly over it."

Xu Xiangbei slammed down the accelerator, quickly shifting gears with actions as smooth as flowing water, accelerating to over 300 mph within seconds.

He aimed at a small dirt ramp by the river and stomped the accelerator to the floor.

The Porsche shot off like a released arrow, soaring from the small slope, flying over the river, and landing steadily on the embankment on the opposite shore.

The embankment was wide and smooth, like a highway.

Xu Xiangbei’s heart was in his throat; he had quickly calculated that with the modified car speed of 400 mph, he should be able to jump thirty meters, and reality proved his idea was correct.

He laughed into the phone at Liu Ningyan, "I made it, I really flew over."

On the other end of the phone, Liu Ningyan’s voice came after a long pause, somewhat tearful, either from being frightened or tears of joy from seeing Xu Xiangbei make it across, or perhaps a mix of both emotions.

Liu Ningyan choked up, "Yes, I saw you. I saw you through the surveillance. Just continue along this embankment road; it’s empty and free of cars at night, so you can keep speeding up."

Hearing Liu Ningyan’s choked voice, Xu Xiangbei laughed, "You should be happy for me. Why are you crying? Stop crying."

"I am happy for you; I’m not crying."

Xu Xiangbei’s silver Porsche sped up, whipping up a whirlwind along the embankment.

Qin Daming was whistling while smugly speeding along a narrow path.

Though the lane was narrow with many intersections affecting speed, he knew Xu Xiangbei would never catch up from behind; he had his men block the back with trucks.

Between the stadium and the West Suburb Zoo, there were three optimal routes. The Route B he took was the shortest. As for Route A, it was self-destruction, and he had blocked the only bridge on Route C with a truck.

So he believed he had won, determined to seize that silver Porsche. It wasn’t just about the car; it was about crushing Xu Xiangbei’s arrogance and winning face for himself.

He could already see the neon signs of the West Suburb Zoo and was extremely pleased, knowing someone was there waiting for him.

He felt a bit hungry; he hadn’t eaten since noon while planning this race, bringing in two trucks and two cement mixers, everything planned flawlessly.

He cheered for his own intellect, thinking that Xu Xiangbei’s strength meant nothing if he ultimately succumbed at his feet, offering up that Porsche.

Thinking of this, he laughed triumphantly.

Having passed the last intersection, he was only five hundred meters from the West Suburb Zoo, just a slight press on the gas away from the finish line.

Suddenly, a blinding car headlight beam shot from the side; he instinctively turned his head sideways, releasing the gas, and dodged to the side to avoid a collision.

However, as the car sped past him, his triumphant smile froze, eyes nearly popping out.

The silver streamlined car, wheels burning, the window revealing Xu Xiangbei’s large and loathsome face.

He felt like going crazy; it was impossible. Wasn’t Xu Xiangbei blocked behind? How could he burst through a side intersection? Wasn’t the bridge sealed?

He hurriedly called the cement mixer truck driver’s phone, angrily roaring, "Didn’t I tell you to block the bridge? How did Xu Xiangbei get through there? What the hell are you doing?"

The driver, clueless about being scolded, bitterly laughed, "We did as you ordered and blocked the bridge. No cars passed here, Young Master Qin. See for yourself if you don’t believe."

"You..."

He viciously hung up, watching the silver Porsche overtake him and fade away. Like a deflated balloon, he revealed a desperate look, knowing he was utterly defeated.

The cheers, applause, and exclamations from the West Suburb Zoo knew that Xu Xiangbei had reached the finish line. His face was so dark you could wring water from it.

He gritted his teeth, turned the car around, and drove back.

His phone rang; it was from his friend Shen Congru. He intended to hang up but answered anyway.

Over the phone came Shen Congru’s resigned voice, "Sigh, you were too careless. After planning all day, it’s still in vain. Just accept the loss; you have plenty of villas."

It wasn’t just the villa he lost; he lost his confidence and his face.

He answered weakly, "Go help me settle with that Xu guy. I need to go back and rest."
