Chapter 306 A Small Favor

An Iron Gall whizzed through the air like a heavy hammer, aiming at the forehead of the black-clad thief.

The black-clad thief lightly swept his Samurai Saber horizontally. CLANG! It steadily blocked the incoming Iron Ball, but what startled him was the immense backlash from the Iron Ball, numbing his wrist.

Three other directions saw Iron Balls speeding towards him.

After knocking away three Iron Balls, the black-clad thief’s confidence swelled. He swung his saber fiercely at the fourth Iron Ball flying directly towards him.

Unexpectedly, the fourth Iron Ball leaped lightly to the side like a clever little rabbit in mid-air, avoiding his ferocious slash.

The Iron Ball dodged the Samurai Saber and smashed heavily onto his cheek.

Xu Xiangbei chuckled and said, "You’re really dull, aren’t you? I even called out Jump Ball No. 4, how could you have blocked it? CLINK CLANK, the sound akin to large and small beads falling onto a Jade Plate rang out as Xu Xiangbei fended off all the shurikens. By then, the black-clad thief had vanished without a trace.

Xu Xiangbei leaned by the window, laughing, "Fool! I haven’t even learned how to jump together. I was just scaring you. Don’t run, come back and play a little longer."

Outside, the wind howled, and thunder roared. The black-clad thief was nowhere to be found, with nothing responding to Xu Xiangbei but the frenzied wind.

Xu Xiangbei turned on the study room light. The study was in chaos; the earlier battle in the dark had shattered the rosewood tables and chairs into pieces.

Thanks to the study’s excellent soundproofing, coupled with the lightning and thunder outside, no one but Xu Xiangbei realized what had happened in the study.
