Chapter 294: Wish You a Pleasant Time

Chapter 294: Wish You a Pleasant Time

Crown Nightclub VIP Room 218, President Huang and President Qiao were sitting on the sofa with smiles, followed by several burly men along with Secretary Wang under President Qiao.

On the coffee table was a bottle of high-end liquor, Emperor XO priced at five thousand US dollars per bottle, with two crystal clear glasses containing transparent hexagonal ice cubes.

President Huang uncorked the fresh red bottle of XO, gently tilting the frosted glass bottle, pouring a clear amber liquid into the glasses, gradually overflowing the snow-white ice cubes, creating tiny yellow foam.

The two picked up a glass of fine wine together, shaking it, letting the wine fully blend with the white ice cubes to savor a fresher taste.

They chatted and laughed, completely devoid of the fireworks atmosphere of the ring, becoming like long-lost friends suddenly reunited.

President Huang glanced at his wristwatch, a contemptuous smile flashed across his face: "It’s already the appointed time, why hasn’t Dr. Xu arrived? He might have heard about signing the life and death contract and dared not come."

President Qiao laughed heartily: "President Huang, don’t worry. It might be traffic. I see that Dr. Xu has strong skills and a firm will, he won’t give up easily."

Xu Xiangbei had actually arrived early.

After he and Ouyang Jiahui sent Sun Jiajia to Earth Sea Airport, they came to Crown Nightclub.

At the nightclub reception desk, Xu Xiangbei deliberately smashed several beer bottles as samples, golden beer and shards of glass scattered everywhere.

He smiled and asked the receptionist how much compensation was needed for the mess.

The receptionist was so frightened that she quickly called the duty manager, but got an inexplicable reply, saying he didn’t need to pay a single penny.

Xu Xiangbei knew that to prevent the situation from escalating, the duty manager clearly wanted to hold him steady and not let him escape.

He made a fuss, pointing at the receptionist’s nose, demanding to see the boss and insisting on compensation.

In the end, to appease his dissatisfaction, the receptionist smiled and said, "Sir, tonight your room fee and all your expenses are waived. Enjoy yourself."

The door to Room 218 opened, and Xu Xiangbei walked in with a smile: "Sorry for making you wait, this place is so luxurious. I really like it here. Took a lot of photos. Do you want to see my selfies?"

President Huang and President Qiao rejected Xu Xiangbei’s offer, saying in unison, "NO."

President Qiao glanced at Secretary Wang, who caught the hint and smiled, pulling out a few new documents from his briefcase, along with an ink pen, and placed them on the coffee table.

"We’ve been waiting here for a while. Dr. Xu, hurry and sign the contract. Once you sign the life and death contract, it’s all set, and I’ll begin arranging the competition matters."

Curious, Xu Xiangbei sat on the sofa, his hand reaching for the pen on the coffee table. President Huang and President Qiao’s eyes were gleaming with excitement, like they were watching someone sign a check.

However, Xu Xiangbei’s hand bypassed the pen and picked up an empty glass from the coffee table, pouring himself a cup of fragrant Emperor XO.

He took a sip, his brow slightly furrowed, looking at the snow-white, crystal-clear hexagonal ice cubes in President Huang’s glass, understanding something. He smiled again, picking a few ice cubes from the ice bucket for his own cup, and gently shook it.

"Since I’m already here, no need to rush to sign. President Huang, President Qiao, how about ordering a song? Shall we sing one together?"

President Huang gently brushed some dust off his high-end silk tie, unable to hide a trace of disdain.

He generally disliked venues like this, only visiting customized high-end clubs. Everything here seemed too vulgar in President Huang’s eyes.

President Qiao smiled and said, "I’m not fond of singing. I have other things to attend to, Dr. Xu, why not quickly look at the contract?"

Xu Xiangbei reclined on the sofa, crossing his legs, and looked at the contract while sipping XO, pretending.

He had already read the contract. It was monotonous and filled with esoteric legal terms, words he could recognize individually but together made no sense; only a professional lawyer could understand.

He appeared to be looking at the contract when he was actually waiting, as the important player had yet to arrive.

He wondered internally, strangely, could it be his conspicuous appearance that prevented Boss Peng from recognizing him? Seems like he’d have to smash the lobby’s TV wall to force that guy out?

President Qiao smiled and asked, "Dr. Xu, if there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to ask Secretary Wang. He can answer for you."

Xu Xiangbei loved asking questions.

Once in a politics class, the teacher dragged on, and he asked the teacher many questions. That teacher, with a sullen face, patiently answered until almost throwing him out of the classroom onto the street, before he stopped asking.

Since then, whenever it was that teacher’s class, the teacher would dash out the classroom pretending not to see him, never dragging lessons again.

Xu Xiangbei had prepared numerous questions; if time allowed, he could ask until the morning sun rose, then they could all bask in the morning’s bright sunlight and go get breakfast together.

Suddenly, noises were heard outside the door, Xu Xiangbei smirked wickedly, no more questions needed, after waiting so long, the people had finally arrived.

With a crash, the room door was kicked open, Xu Xiangbei leisurely drank XO, looking at the seven or eight people swarming in from the door with a smile, almost wanting to say: Oh, you just arrived, I’ve waited so long I’ve wilted.

The leader was a bald man, sinister-faced, with a scary scar on his right cheek, followed by the three strong men encountered in Emperor’s Pavilion that morning. They wielded electric batons, looking menacing.

Xu Xiangbei secretly watched President Huang and President Qiao’s expressions turn grim, clearly unhappy about being disrupted at a critical moment.

The burly men by their sides were experts in reading their master’s expressions, they blocked the bald man who had charged in: "What do you want, damn it, get the hell out of here."

The opposition charged in with a vengeance, pressing the electric baton switch, the blue arcs particularly dazzling in the dim KTV room, crackling as they fiercely struck the bodyguards.

The KTV room was cramped, making it impossible for the bodyguards to dodge, all getting electrocuted, falling and twitching continuously on the ground. One even got electrified to the point of urinating, releasing a pungent smell.

President Huang and President Qiao froze for a moment; the opposition was remarkably ruthless, saying nothing but immediately resorting to electric batons.

Xu Xiangbei was also a bit surprised, he hadn’t expected President Huang’s bodyguards to be so incompetent, being electrocuted to the ground.

Just as Xu Xiangbei was readying to act, a flash appeared, and suddenly in the thin Secretary Wang’s hand was an extendable baton. With a swoosh, the steel baton furiously smashed onto the bald head in front.

Everyone showed a sympathetic expression; with such a blow, if the bald man didn’t end up bleeding from the head, he’d surely be knocked unconscious.
