Chapter 201: Breaking the Formation
Chapter 201: Breaking the Formation
Just as Gu Xinyan said, Da Hu knew his right leg was crippled, and with his own strength, he couldn’t defeat Xu Xiangbei, so he ordered his four brothers to form the Ferocious Tiger Five Elements Formation.
Xu Xiangbei laughed, "You guys are attacking as a team, huh? Alright, let’s see how good your pitiful formation really is."
The five began to take turns attacking Xu Xiangbei, only to see fists and legs flying all over the place, converging into streaks of light, heavily encasing Xu Xiangbei.
Meanwhile, Xu Xiangbei was like a lone boat amidst stormy seas, swaying in the wind, constantly in danger.
The three beauties watching the fight no longer had any attention to spare for popcorn. Even the most carefree, Ouyang Jiahui, was nervously clutching her chest, her body tense, with her heart in her throat.
Facing the Ferocious Tiger Five Elements Formation at first, Xu Xiangbei struggled a bit. It was the fiercest, most perilous battle he’d encountered since coming to Jiangcheng, yet it was also the most challenging to his skills.
Xu Xiangbei couldn’t laugh anymore. He somewhat regretted letting the five tigers set up the formation. The best opportunity to break it was before they had set it up, defeating them one by one. It would have been easier to win that way.
Curiosity killed the cat. Xu Xiangbei was very curious about what the Ferocious Tiger Five Elements Formation was all about, and as a result, he was caught in an encirclement by the five.
He didn’t panic but calmed his mind, carefully pondering the formation and seemed to have found the operation pattern of the Five Elements Formation.
It seemed they were attacking randomly, sometimes one person, sometimes all five together, in chaos. In truth, they were rotating in the order of the five elements, including the cycles of creation and overcoming among them.
Da Hu stood at the first, the metal position, followed by the second tiger at the wood position, and so forth until the fifth held the earth position. After understanding their operation, Xu Xiangbei fought more composedly.
When it was the second tiger’s turn to attack, Xu Xiangbei turned his back to him, knowing he was about to punch, dodging swiftly to the side. The second tiger still punched aimlessly, secretly wondering how Xu Xiangbei dodged as if he knew beforehand.
Xu Xiangbei chuckled inwardly, today he learned the Ferocious Tiger Five Elements Formation; these five could only be called five foolish tigers. They only mastered the forward sequence of elements, unaware that elements could reverse. Otherwise, transforming the formation into a forward-and-reverse formation would be ten times more powerful, making it hard for others to figure out their pattern.
Xu Xiangbei soon found a way to break the formation: first attack the weakest link, which was Da Hu.
Originally, Da Hu was the strongest force in the formation, with the other four revolving around him, but Xu Xiangbei had crippled his right leg meridian, leaving him to attack with only his left leg. Therefore, Da Hu’s attack power was halved.
Especially when the formation rotated to him, requiring him to attack with his right leg, he only lifted his leg as a mere formality, without any threat.
Bam! When the formation rotated back to Da Hu, Xu Xiangbei preemptively landed a heavy serpent punch right under Da Hu’s rib.
Xu Xiangbei subtly employed the technique of striking through a mountain, not breaking Da Hu’s rib, but a surge of Qi Force penetrated into Da Hu’s meridians.
Da Hu screamed as if electrocuted, falling backward, clutching his injury and shouting, "Dragon Tiger Divine Fist, you’re from Dragon Tiger Martial Arts Hall."
Xu Xiangbei squinted and smiled, "You’re right, I’m a coach from Dragon Tiger Martial Arts Hall."
Then, Xu Xiangbei fiercely kicked Da Hu’s jaw, sending him flying high, then crashing down hard without even groaning. Upon close look, his face was twisted in pain and he had fainted.
The Ferocious Tiger Five Elements Formation lost one, especially its core member Da Hu, causing it to instantly collapse.
The remaining four tigers became flustered, unable to hit Xu Xiangbei. In their panic, the fourth tiger kicked the fifth tiger’s knee, making him retreat several steps in pain, clutching his leg.
The fifth tiger twirled his shiny short hair, about to curse the fourth when Xu Xiangbei kicked him in the jaw, sending several yellow, decaying teeth along with blood spurting out. He lay on the ground motionless like a dead dog.
Without Da Hu and the fifth tiger, the formation was even more vulnerable and lost much of its power, existing in name only.
The fierce second tiger, resembling a mighty ox, charged at Xu Xiangbei, intending to topple him with his body, but Xu Xiangbei easily kicked him in the neck.
His mouth wide open, struggling to breathe, he clawed at his fat neck, eyes filled with intense fear, feeling on the brink of death.
Fortunately, Xu Xiangbei didn’t intend to kill him, only temporarily sealing his windpipe with a strong force. Soon, he could breathe again, but the fear of death remained unforgettable.
When the second tiger found he could breathe again, a look of joy appeared on his face, though he dared not charge forward, afraid of being kicked in the throat again by Xu Xiangbei.
Swoosh! A black shadow flew in, kicked by Xu Xiangbei in the forehead, like a heavy hammer striking. Blood streamed from his nose as he rolled away.
His over three-hundred-pound body rolled like a giant snowball, stopping only after seven or eight meters. Though he tried to get up, sitting up with hands pushing the ground, his eyes rolled back and he fell again.
The third tiger, seeing his brothers all down, was filled with horror and the urge to retreat, but when he tried to escape backward, Xu Xiangbei tripped him, causing him to fall like a felled tree.
As he fell, Xu Xiangbei let out a breathy shout, punching heavily into his belly.
The man flew horizontally, crashing into their arriving van, denting it deeply.
Xu Xiangbei used the same mountain-striking-Qi Force technique; though the third tiger dented the van, he surprisingly got up unaffected.
He joyfully patted his stomach, his gaunt body uninjured.
Suddenly, his face twisted, as if his innards were flipping, he lay vomiting on the ground, nearly puking up his intestines.
The fourth tiger saw that of the five, he was the only one left. If they couldn’t defeat Xu Xiangbei as a formation, he surely wasn’t a match alone. This fight was unwinnable.
Quick-witted, his eyes darted, and he suddenly ran backward, faster than a rabbit.
As he reached the side of a large truck, the truck door swung open, smacking him heavily in the face, spewing blood from mouth and nose, stars swirling before his eyes as he slowly fell down.
From the truck jumped a man, muscles bulging, tall and strong, none other than Lu Daan, previously defeated by Xu Xiangbei.
Having lost to Xu Xiangbei previously, Lu Daan respected him. He grinned widely, "I’ve been watching a while, I hate it when many bully the few. These bastards couldn’t beat you even five to one, and tried to run. I caught one for you, consider it an apology for last time."
