Chapter 114: Venting Anger on Others
Chapter 114: Venting Anger on Others
It was said that regardless of his son’s fate, Director Chen still visited Chen Yonghao in the detention center with Sun Jiajia the next morning.
Upon seeing Chen Yonghao, Director Chen was furious, gritting his teeth, and slapped him, "You brat! Such a beautiful fiancée, and you still want to cause trouble. Are you trying to infuriate me to death?"
Chen Yonghao’s gaze was dark as he covered his slapped cheek, "If you can’t get me out, don’t come. Aren’t you acquainted with Director Jiang? Go ask him to get me out."
"You... You’re infuriating me! You make mistakes yourself and blame me. I’ll let you rot in jail."
Director Chen was so furious his heart condition almost flared up, and he was taken to the infirmary by the prison guards to take blood pressure medication.
Sun Jiajia met with Chen Yonghao alone, tears in her eyes, "Ahao, can you tell me what really happened last night?"
Mentioning the incident from last night, Chen Yonghao’s eyes were full of resentment, his emotions agitated.
"That girl provoked me first. I drank too much, and when she voluntarily hugged me, I thought she was a prostitute. But she turned around and accused me of assaulting her. I know the mastermind behind this; it’s Xu Xiangbei. Xu Xiangbei has long known this Motorcycle Gang."
Sun Jiajia, about to cry but with no tears left, said, "You’ve disappointed me greatly. We’re about to get married, yet even if she were a prostitute, you shouldn’t have anything to do with her, especially with me just in the neighboring room."
Seeing Sun Jiajia reproach him, Chen Yonghao became angrier, his roar shaking the iron bars.
"You have no right to lecture me. I’ve been framed, and it’s partly your fault. Pretending to be innocent and all pure while being with me, eating my food, wearing my clothes, and not letting me touch you, wanting to keep your damned purity for the wedding night. Pah! If you hadn’t stopped me, I wouldn’t have sought out a prostitute."
Sun Jiajia was stunned, never expecting Chen Yonghao to blame her. She was so angry that her face turned red, her whole body trembling, almost unable to speak.
"Shameless! If you were upright, how could that girl frame you? You should find your own fault instead of blaming others."
Chen Yonghao glared, "Get out! You have no right to lecture me here. If it weren’t for your classmate Ding Keke, we wouldn’t have known Xu Xiangbei, nor been framed by them."
Sun Jiajia bit her lip tightly, holding back her tears. For him, she hadn’t slept all night, full of worry, only to be met with curses.
Though she was not crying, her heart was bleeding, wanting to cry but having no tears left.
Xu Xiangbei drove his fiery red Ferrari to the courtyard gate, pressed the horn, and the door slowly opened with a creak, revealing the elegant and beautiful face of Ding Keke.
When Ding Keke appeared fully before Xu Xiangbei, his eyes couldn’t help but light up.
Today, Ding Keke wore a bright red dress, the same Sophie red dress bought at Lida Mall that day.
On that day, Ding Keke merely tried it on, and Xu Xiangbei took a cursory glance without paying much attention. But now, with Ding Keke wearing it, she seemed like a vivid red rose, charmingly vibrant, with a touch of wildness beneath her gentle demeanor.
Xu Xiangbei clapped his hands, smiling lewdly, "Truly beautiful! You made the right choice purchasing this dress. Only you can wear it with such presence; no one else could match you."
"Stop flattering me. Come inside for breakfast."
Though she verbally declined, Ding Keke’s heart was delightfully filled; she enjoyed Xu Xiangbei’s compliments on her beauty.
Xu Xiangbei raised his eyebrows, a little surprised, "Weren’t you saying I’d treat you to breakfast? You made breakfast yourself?"
Ding Keke curtsied playfully, "Of course, my esteemed doctor. Come quickly and eat breakfast. I’ve been ready for you."
Xu Xiangbei laughed heartily, swaggering into the courtyard, immediately smelling the fragrance of corn: "Boiled corn? What else did you make?"
"There’s millet porridge, tea eggs, some pickled cucumbers; it’s clear and simple."
After drinking a bowl of millet porridge, eating pickled cucumbers, and biting into a golden ear of corn, Xu Xiangbei felt quite stuffed.
Xu Xiangbei grinned, "Your breakfast is delicious. Let me reward you, my dear concubine."
As he said this, he attempted to hug Ding Keke but was met with a light tap on the head with the corn cob.
Ding Keke laughed teasingly, "Keep your pervy hands to yourself. It’s getting late; Prince should go attend the morning court and not linger on my beauty anymore, OK?"
Xu Xiangbei brought Ding Keke to Jiangcheng University and encountered Director Wu at the foot of the teaching building.
Seeing Director Wu in high spirits, Xu Xiangbei joked, "Director Wu, lined up early to welcome me, huh? I’m truly honored!"
Director Wu chuckled, "Doctor Xu, I was indeed waiting for you. I need to tell you some good news."
Xu Xiangbei had guessed most of it but pretended to be curious, "What good news? Tell us about it. Let’s all enjoy it!"
"Doctor Chu, the health bureau has a new finance head, and the efficiency is visibly different. The funding has come through. I’ve already ordered some essential medicines and had Teacher Chu prepare a new medical office for you. Inside there’s not only a desk but also beds, a refrigerator, and a freezer. If you need anything more, just ask Teacher Chu. As long as it’s reasonable, we’ll ensure it’s promptly addressed."
Xu Xiangbei and Ding Keke exchanged a smile and followed Director Wu to the new medical office.
The new medical office was right under the office building, a freshly painted room specifically divided inside and outside. The outer area was Xu Xiangbei and Ding Keke’s office, and inside were two beds.
Seeing the clean and orderly office, Xu Xiangbei whispered in Ding Keke’s ear, "Hehe, there are even beds here. We can nap together at noon."
Ding Keke stepped on his foot, "Stop talking nonsense. You’re such a nuisance."
Ding Keke pasted a brand new red cross symbol on the door, feeling very happy about the bright and tidy medical office.
Teacher Chu arrived with some movers, carrying boxes of newly purchased medicines and medical equipment.
After arranging everything, Teacher Chu prepared to leave. With a wide grin, Xu Xiangbei waved at Teacher Chu, "Teacher Chu, come hang out when you’re free!"
Teacher Chu smiled, "Even if I’m free, I can’t keep visiting your medical office. Are you trying to jinx me with a sickness?"
Xu Xiangbei replied mischievously, "You’ve misunderstood, Teacher Chu. I just want to meet more often and chat. If you have time, let’s go play badminton in the afternoon."
From inside, sorting the medicines, Ding Keke chimed in, "What about me? I want to play badminton too."
Xu Xiangbei, with a serious face, said, "Someone has to stay on duty at the medical office. I’ll play badminton; you stay on duty."
Ding Keke pouted, feigning annoyance, "That’s unfair! You play badminton, and I stay on duty. I’m not okay with that."
