Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 231

Chapter 231

Fern's Perspective

My heart skipped a beat, and I immediately opened my eyes.

"...Fern..."

His voice was faint, like the wind, yet it pierced my ears clearly. I jerked my head up to meet a pair of long-lost eyes.

In an instant, my world collapsed.

I threw myself into his arms, tears spilling uncontrollably, and finally let out a sob.

—You're back.

"You're awake!" I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I nearly cried out, my tears already slipping down my cheeks.

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, a weak but warm smile forming. "Why... are you crying?"

"You were unconscious for so long... I thought..." I covered my mouth, unable to stop the sobs. All the strength drained from me in that moment, and I could no longer hold back. I jumped into his arms.

"I'm here..." he murmured weakly, gently stroking my back. "I'm back..."

Giovanni's awakening shocked everyone. The pack received the news quickly, and even my parents came once more. My mother's eyes glistened with tears of relief at seeing him awake, while my father let out a soft sigh of relief.

"It seems our daughter was right this time," he said.

Tobias stood in the doorway of the hospital room, a small smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth. "I knew you two wouldn't die so easily."

Giovanni weakly lifted the corners of his mouth. "Of course... I haven't kept my promise yet."

I looked at him, puzzled. "What promise?"

He slowly reached for my hand, taking my fingers in his. His gaze was deep and determined. "I'm going to give you the grandest mating ceremony."

My heart skipped a beat, and my cheeks flushed slightly. "You've just woken up; don't think about that yet..."

But he stubbornly tightened his grip on my hand, his voice firm and unwavering. "I've already kept you waiting too long, Fern."

My tears slipped once more, but this time, they weren't from sorrow—only from deep emotion.

A month later, Giovanni's injuries were mostly healed, and the entire pack was filled with joy.

On that day, the clan held a grand mating ceremony for us. I wore a pure white dress symbolizing MATE, while Giovanni donned black armor representing the glory of the Alpha. He stood on the ceremonial stage, never taking his eyes off me.

Everyone had gathered in the center of the ceremony grounds, a bonfire blazing brightly, its light reflecting off their excited faces. The air was thick with the scents of grass and trees, mingled with the crisp aroma of a distant stream, creating an intoxicating atmosphere.

I stood at the entrance to the ceremony ground, my long, pure white dress trailing on the soft grass like mist bathed in moonlight. White symbolized the pure bond and loyalty between mates, and the intricate silver-thread totems embroidered on the hem marked me as the Alpha's Wife. From now on, I was not only his mate but also the Luna of this pack.

I took a deep breath, slowly stepping toward the man waiting for me.

His tall, upright figure stood clad in black battle armor, the silver tattoos on his shoulder armor and waist glimmering in the firelight like a gathering of stars. His deep eyes were locked on me, fiery and determined, as if he wished to carve me into the depths of his soul.

As I walked closer, he slowly reached out his hand, palm up, waiting for me to place mine into his.

In front of everyone, I gently placed my hand in his, and warmth immediately enveloped my fingers.

"You're here," he whispered, his voice filled with tenderness and relief.

I nodded softly, my eyes welling with emotion. "I'm here."

The Elder stood before us, holding a wooden staff carved with ancient runes. His voice was ancient and regal. "In the witness of the Moon God, do you wish to be bonded as MATES, to be loyal to each other, never to part in life or death?"

We stood facing each other, our eyes locked, as if the world had fallen silent, leaving only the sound of our heartbeats.

He spoke first, his voice low and steady, each word carrying the weight of an oath.

"Fern, we've been through so much—misunderstandings, pain, even struggles between life and death. But even if we had to go through it a thousand times, I would still choose you without hesitation."

He slowly took my hand and placed it over his chest, where I could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.

"From now on, my heart, my soul, my life—all belong to you. Whether the future is bright or dark, I want to spend it with you. You are my MATE, my one and only Luna."

My heart swelled with his vows, and tears gathered in my eyes. The past flashed in my mind—our struggles, our heartbreak—but fate had always brought us back together.

I choked on my words and softly replied, my voice filled with deep emotion, "I've been afraid. I've run away. But no matter where I go, my heart always pulls me back to you. You've guarded me and our child with your life, and now it's my turn to guard you."

I squeezed his hand tightly and said solemnly, "From now on, my heart, my soul, and my life belong to you. I will share in your glory, and I will share in your storms. I am your MATE, your Luna, and I will never leave you."

As my words fell, his grip tightened slightly, as if to hold me to him forever.

The Elder nodded in approval and handed us two silver blades engraved with ancient runes. According to the traditions of the Wolf Clan, the bond between MATES was not only spiritual but required blood as a vow to never be separated.

Giovanni led the way, making a shallow cut on his palm. Blood slowly seeped out, and without hesitation, he reached out and grasped my hand.

I followed suit, making a tiny wound in my own palm, and pressed my hand to his. We felt the blood mix together, and a surge of warmth spread through us.

I could feel our bond deepen at that moment, as if the chains of destiny had bound us together, never to be broken again.

The crowd witnessed the moment and let out a long, mournful wolf howl, a blessing and recognition of our vow.

Suddenly, the full moon in the sky shone even brighter, and a silvery-white pillar of light descended slowly, enveloping us. In that moment, I felt the warm, divine power surround us, as if the Moon God herself was watching over us and blessing our vows.

Giovanni gently took my hand, his eyes focused and deep. "Fern, I love you."

My heart trembled violently, and tears finally slipped down. I could no longer hold back my emotions. I stood on tiptoe and kissed his lips, pouring all my love and devotion into that kiss.

At that moment, it felt like only the two of us existed, as if all the past had woven itself into the fabric of fate, and our future had just begun.

The wolf howls from the pack rose and fell, the bonfire blazed brighter, and the entire ceremony ground was filled with joy and blessings.

From now on, he is my MATE, I am his Luna, and our Bond will live on forever, unbreakable.
