Getting away with the Alpha's Pup

Chapter 149

Chapter 149

Fern's Perspective

My eyes slowly widened to find him staring at me with a look I didn't recognize. A small smile crept onto my lips as he pulled me onto the bed with him, waiting for the swelling in the knot to subside.

My head rested against his chest, and we stayed in that position. Even though it was different than before, I liked it. I realized I wasn't as afraid of him as I had been before—in fact, I was attracted to his ways.

"Does it hurt?" he asked, breaking the silence between us.

I blushed. "No."

"Good," he replied, then looked up at the ceiling.

As the knot dissipated and he slid off me, I expected him to leave quickly. Instead, he lay beside me for a moment, then got up and headed for my bathroom.

I sat up, curious about what he was doing. When I heard the sound of running water, I saw him walk back, his member hanging freely between his legs as he approached me.

I was totally confused. What was he doing?

But I didn't bother to ask. I let him pick me up off the bed and carry me to the bathroom, where he set my feet on the floor and walked into the shower with me.

The hot water felt good on my skin. I didn't understand what was happening, but I didn't want to say anything and ruin the moment, so I allowed him to do what he liked.

His hands brushed over my skin with a wet rag and soap, cleaning every inch of me. His fingers lingered around my core longer than I expected, and a sensitive gasp escaped my lips when he played with my clit a little more.

I couldn't help but look at him as a small smile flashed across his face.

I wanted so badly to know what was going through his mind at that moment, but the smile disappeared as quickly as it had appeared. He turned off the water and stepped out, wrapping a towel around both of us.

I slowly walked back to the bed and climbed in, Giovanni following me all the way until I was settled under the blankets. He pulled them up and tucked me in.

Giovanni took a deep breath, his tone apologetic. "I'm sorry, Little Tree. I haven't been paying attention to your feelings lately, and I didn't realize that Vivian would make it so hard for you."

"Little Tree, I know I was wrong. You're very important to me, and I don't want to lose you," he said softly, his tone full of sincere apology.

My heart warmed as I looked at Giovanni and finally nodded. He let out a sigh of relief and gave a small smile.

"Let's all go for a walk in the pack tomorrow," Giovanni suggested. "As the Luna of the pack, maybe you need to learn more about our pack."

I knew Giovanni was trying to cheer me up, so I hesitated and eventually agreed.

The next day, Giovanni took me to the pack's training grounds. I glanced over at him, and he gave me a mischievous wink.

All eyes were on us as we walked into the training grounds. As we took our seats, Giovanni's arm tightened around my waist.

Once seated, the emcee began his speech. Today was Vivian's first day leading the pack in formal training since her return. As the Gamma of the pack, she needed to make a speech before the training to ensure it got off to a good start.

The moment we arrived at the training grounds, I realized what Giovanni was up to. He was still trying to promote the relationship between Vivian and me, unaware of the "conflict" between us.

Giovanni turned to me, perhaps worried by the expression on my face. "What's wrong?" he asked.

I shook my head and excused myself, "I shouldn't have kept everyone waiting."

He smiled and took my hand, kissing it gently. "It's not your fault, Little Tree. Don't blame yourself. It's a very small problem, if it even is one. Don't worry about it, okay?"

"Okay," I replied, smiling weakly and trying to concentrate on the speech.

After Beta Tobias finished his speech, Giovanni took the stage. "Good morning, everyone. It is a pleasure to stand before you and speak, and I must admit that each and every one of you makes me immensely proud. Last year was undoubtedly one of the toughest years. We fought off rogue attacks, losing friends, and some even lost family members. In the worst cases, some lost their mates to brutal rogues."

He paused for a moment before continuing, "Together we built trust; together we trained and progressed; together we achieved victory after victory."

Giovanni waited for the applause to die down before continuing, "It would be misleading to say that our rivalry started off on the right foot. If anything, we just wanted to show the other wolves our supposed superiority." He laughed, the sound spreading through the hall.

"Fortunately, as the Alpha of the pack, I must admit that we have an excellent Gamma. She doesn't prioritize the strength of individual wolves or seek to impress superiors through combat. Instead, she has instilled in us the belief that our strength lies in unity as a pack, and that ending conflicts makes more sense than perpetuating them. That's why I support her decision to lead our people in aiding packs in need."

Another round of applause erupted, even I couldn't deny Vivian's excellence in that moment.
