Chapter 114
Chapter 114
Cherry
“Yes, we are! And we've even got the paperwork done.” Nina couldn't hide the excitement in her voice. “Dylan got it done!”
“He did?” I asked, shocked to hear that all their paperwork had been ready.
“Yes. We're not doing this on a whim, Cherry. Every designer dreams to be part of the Paris Fashion Week; so do Kendra and I. We made this choice because we want to make a step forward in our designing career.” Nina held my hand tightly while looking into my eyes keenly.
“Not wrong. And Seattle gets all the diversity that a designer needs. We cannot just spend all our life here in Berlin. It's time we go and experience this world for ourselves. And we enjoy working with you and Maisy. It's just so great that we got to work back together.” Kendra chimed in with her idea.
After catching up with Kendra and Nina and having a lively conversation, I bid them goodbye.
Just as I returned from the door after seeing my friends off, Fern popped her head from behind the sliding door that led to the balcony.
“Yes, princess?”
“Can I go to Paris with you, mommy? I want to see you do the designing work, just like before.” My princess pouted her pinkish lips.
“I'd love that, baby. But you've got to go to school.”
“Oh, I hate school.” My pup was upset at this news. “But I'm going to the actual show, right?”
“Of course. I'll be sad if you won't be there.” I ran my fingers in the hair of my pup when Dylan mindlinked me over to the balcony.
There, I saw Oliver taking his first step towards Dylan!
“He's walking! Our son is walking! I missed Fern's first step. Luckily, that didn't happen again with Oliver.” Dylan was overwhelmed by this unexpected joy.
Thank you, Nuu-Chah. Tears rolled down my cheeks as Fern and I joined the father and son.

As the Paris Fashion Week drew dear, we decided to fly back to Seattle to sort out the exhibition items among all my existing works.
After a brief reunion with Maisy, Kendra, Nina and I got down to the preparation for the exhibition immediately.
Things went pretty smoothly as we made a perfect team of four, though working overtime happened now and then.
One late night, there were only Maisy and me in the studio, making the finishing touches to the work of the day.
“It fits better now,” I said to Maisy while holding the fabric around the waist of the model.
"Cannot be more perfect!" She exclaimed in satisfaction, handing me a few safety pins to fix the dress on the model. “I'll send them to Nina, so that they can make the last-minute—”
I looked up as Maisy suddenly stopped halfway, only to find her eyes drift outside and her cheeks flushed red.
Following her gaze, I saw Bill smiling at us outside the window.
"What? Anything wrong with the charity project? Bill cannot be such a lousy partner that he failed to nail it and came here for your help at this hour!"
I joked after recalling that Maisy and Bill had been taken care of the charity thing together when I went to Berlin.
"Oh...maybe...Alpha Bill...he..." Maisy stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse.
"Alpha? You heard about anything, Maisy?" I tensed up as Maisy uttered the word "Alpha", because I hadn't talked about my species with her properly. I was afraid that she might get spooked by the werewolf concept.
"Oh, relax Cherry." Maisy came over to take my hand while Bill pushed open the door and stepped in.
"I've sensed something uncommon in you and Fern back in Berlin. And Bert has told me something about the pack stuff now and then after I moved here with you. It's okay with me that we're different species. I don't think that will be a problem for us as close friends."
"That's great, Maisy! I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about this earlier." I held Maisy's hands tight gratefully before turning to Bill.
"Why are you here, Bill? It's late."
"Oh, nothing. I'm just checking in on our designer stars, and see if I'd be of your service." Bill was always a witty gentleman.
"Wow, that's really sweet! But we're gonna call it a day. I don't think we'll need anything, do we?" I replied while glancing at Maisy for confirmation, only to find her flush even more.
"Did you just get a fever from overworking—" My mouth suddenly shut involuntarily as I sensed some chemistry.
Something happened between Maisy and Bill! Realizing what could be going on between the two, I changed my mind. I didn't want to be any third wheel here.
"Well, I do have a favor to ask, Alpha Bill." I cleared my throat intentionally. "Could you please take care of Maisy since, you know, she may have a fever. I'll have to go home to tuck my pups in."
"I'd very much love to." Taking my hint, Bill nodded gladly.
"Hey, Cherry! Wait..." Maisy shouted behind my back while I chose to ignore her and walked to my car.
“Mate! I can't be wrong. They're fated mates!” My wolf kept whispering to me in excitement as I drove back to Lord Hills.
"I owe you this one, Cherry!" I got a mindlink message from Bill as I pulled over in front of the pack house.
“I'm happy you finally find your one true mate, Bill. But bring her back to me in one piece! I still need her for the fashion show.” I joked back.
