Chapter 105
Chapter 105
Nuu-Chah
“You promised Cherry that she won't die, Nuu-Chah! You still have a chance to save her life if you go back now and take my poison out of my system---”
Ignoring Fenrys' sarcasm, I held my arm high when my sword flew into my palm under the silvering moonlight.
“I didn't kill you because you're my sister. I locked you up in the underground in hope that you'd change---”
I was forced to stop when Fenrys poisonous arrow grazed my face off my guard!
Taking advantage of my shock, she leaped through me and knocked me down to the ground.
A dagger appeared in her hand as she pinned it against my neck.
“Change? Change so that I'll cower to your power? Dream it!" Fenrys stabbed the dagger into my shoulder forcefully. "You didn't expect that I'd become stronger when you locked me up down there, right?! Do you really think I'd give in to you when you enjoy the shifters' praiseswhile I got all their curses?”
When she was done pouring all her hatred against me and closed her eyes to chant a curse, I struggled to reach for my sword quietly.
Just when Fenrys opened her eyes, my finger finally touched it! With the last bit of strength, I managed to turn over my body and roll her off me.
The next minute, my sword pierced through her chest!
“I should have done this earlier if I knew you place your ego ahead of the shifters' lives.”

Dylan
My wolf whispered something into my ear when I was midway in the battle plan discussion. I turned around in search of Cherry, who had been standing not far from me earlier.
Bert followed my gaze and then we stared into each other's eyes at the same time.
“Have you seen Cherry?” I asked when an uneasy feeling rose in my system.
“She was here a while ago. I didn't notice her leaving.” Bert then turned to the warriors, “Have you seen Luna Cherry?”
My world started to spin as I saw them all shaking their heads.
“Cherry is not here. I can't feel our mate.” My wolf told me honestly.
“Cherry, where are—fuck!” Wasting no time, I shifted into my wolf form, sprinting towards the pack house.
My nose picked up Cherry's distinct scent the minute I stepped through the house gate. But I knew she wasn't here.
“Our mate is blocking our bond. We cannot reach her through mind link.”
“Don't you dare say it!” I threatened my wolf although I knew clearly that something weird was happening to Cherry and me.
“She's not here! Search across the territory of Starmoon!” I commanded Bert through telepathy while rushing out of the pack house, only to find Nuu-Chah standing at the last step of my porch.
“Nuu-Chah? Why are you here? Is it about Cherry? You know where she is, right?” I bombarded her with questions.
But all I got was frustrating silence.
My heart was ripped through pieces as I saw a tear escape from her eyes. Flowers sprang up where her magical tears landed.
“Nuu-Chah, where's my mate? What happened to her? Please...” I was about to kneel down but got picked up by her.
“It's over, Dylan. The whole Starsmoon Pack, your shifters, and you are all safe now.” The Moon Goddess touched my head gently.
“How did that happen? Does that have something to do with Cherry?” I asked in haste again, couldn't get my mate off my mind.
"Yes. It was Cherry. My special wolf made a sacrifice. She didn't want any bloodshed happening here in Starsmoon."
“What the hell does that mean by that?!” My anger terrorized the Moon Goddess, and I never thought that I'd be talking to her in such a manner.
Yet what waited for me was another dreadful spell of silence, until I came to realize something.
“Is that why can't I feel my bond with her anymore? Because of this sacrifice?! What happened to her on earth?!”
“Dylan, pull yourself together. What she did was for the greater good—”
“I don't care, Nuu-Chah! I'll let the world burn to ashes, fuck it! If keeping the world in peace means I'll lose my mate! WHERE IS MY MATE?!”
Driven by extreme fury, I charged towards the Moon Goddess. But my fist landed nowhere as Nuu-Chah vanished within a snap.
“Nuu-Chah! I want my mate!! Give her back to me!!!” My howl echoed in the air.
Overwhelmed by huge frustration, I decided to go back to my warriors, intending to wage a war against the Moon Goddess.
Just as I was about to take the first step, I got a mind-link message from Bert.
"We found her."
“Cherry? You found Cherry? Great! How's she?” I was so excited about the news. My mood was like on a rollercoaster ride.
Yet Bert responded to me with nothing but silence. The loathsome silence!
“What the hell, Bert? Just tell me what's going on!”
“An Epsilon found Cherry unconscious in Fenrys' temple—”
“I'll be there right up,” I cut him off and darted off.
“Is our mate badly injured? Can you feel her now?” I asked my wolf anxiously while running through the deep forest.
“I can feel nothing.”
“It's probably because Cherry's still weak.” I raced faster, attempting to convince myself that things were not as bad as I'd imagined.
“Where is Luna Cherry?”
Impatient to get an answer from the Epsilon guarding the temple at the door, I brought myself straight in it.
Confusion sipped through me as my eyes landed on the woman lying on the cold floor. Because she wasn't my mate, but Lucy!
“Where is Luna? You said you found her here!” I stormed out to ask the Epsilon, who then followed me inside.
His eyes bulged in disbelief. "How's this possible?! I swear I saw Luna Cherry lying here too! And she looked seriously injured..."
"Don't you dare make a fool of me!" Gritting my teeth, I cut him off and squeezed his neck.
"Stop! Dylan!" Just as the Epsilon was almost throttled by me, Bert arrived.
“Nuu-Chah won't let anything happen to Cherry. She might have taken her away to get healed." Bert tried to bring some senes back to me after learning about what was going on.
"For now, we can do nothing but wait patiently for Cherry's safe return.”
