Chapter 223: Game Over
Chapter 223: Game Over
[30 minutes Later.]
WHOOSH!!
The atmospheric pressure shifted as a localized spatial rift sealed shut. Mirabella slowly opened her eyes, the golden hum of her energy settling into a rhythmic pulse. She stared at Adira, who was hovering before her.
’Where is she?’ Mirabella asked telepathically, referring to the chaotic red-haired angel who had nearly upended the entire tournament’s balance.
’She is out of the Southern region and will be waiting for you in Glory City,’ Adira replied, her voice a calm, ethereal resonance in Mirabella’s mind.
Mirabella nodded her head, adjusting the cuffs of her academy uniform. ’Who would have thought she could also take a human appearance,’ she lightly shook her head. The complexity of high-tier entities was becoming a logistical nightmare, especially with millions of eyes watching the broadcast.
[DING!!]
[Competition World Announcement: Eagle Academy’s Team Captured Their flag.]
The announcement echoed through the sky in a shimmering gold font. Mirabella listened to the chime, her expression neutral. The competition was heating up, and the map was thinning out. She turned her head to the side, her perception skills picking up a massive seismic vibration. Hitachi was running towards her at full speed, his stamina bar draining, and behind him trailed a literal sea of hundreds of monsters, including high-tier Bosses that should have required a full raid party to handle.
BOOM!!
She turned her head to her left. The landscape was a blur of motion. Precious, Aurelia, Casey, and Kent were converging on her position from different directions. The ground groaned under the weight of monsters of unknown sizes and shapes following them without slowing down one bit. It was a calculated, desperate gathering.
"Up here!!"
Mirabella looked up. The sky was darkening, but not from clouds. David was flying towards her, his form silhouetted by the glowing runic circles of his flight spells. He was surrounded by intricate magical arrays as countless airborne monsters—vicious winged drakes, birds and screeching harpies—chased after him like a swarm of angry hornets.
"Senior sister!!? Help me!!"
".....?!"
Mirabella turned to Carl, who was sprinting alongside Rose and Austin. Their situation was the most dire. Behind them were only Boss-tier entities, including five colossal World Bosses.
"What is this?!! Carl!! Are these things attracted by you?!!" Austin yelled, his lungs burning as he pushed his agility stats to their absolute limit.
"This is stupid!! You actually brought all these powerful monsters towards us, why!!!" Rose yelled. As a mage, her base movement speed was her Achilles’ heel, but thanks to Mirabella’s team-wide buffs, she was still managing to keep her feet moving.
"How would I know why?!!" Carl yelled back, his face pale as he narrowly dodged a massive clawed swipe.
Mirabella stared at the monstrous wave threatening to swallow them whole. The five World Bosses weren’t pushovers; they were ancient entities closing the distance with each passing second.
{Bestiary Scan: World Boss Tier.}
Crimson Fang: A gigantic red wolf whose pelt radiated heat.
Obsidian Titan: A black skull gorilla with arms capable of shattering mountains.
Sovereign Serpent: A red anaconda that distorted the space around it.
Gilded Prides: Four-horn lions with roar-based stun skill.
The Colony Queen: A ten-meter long, hyper-armored ant.
The sight of the ant shocked Mirabella; it was rare for an insect-type to reach World Boss status.
’As much as I hate this new title, it seems I will have to use it.’ Mirabella raised her hand, the air around her beginning to darken. Then, she paused.
’No... there are too many eyes at the moment. If I use my title and all these monsters submit, I’ll be revealing my greatest trump cards... I can’t just reveal the full extent of my authority to the world yet.’ She exhaled, scrolling through her active titles and selecting one that was powerful, yet justifiable within the academy’s heroic framework.
"Defender Of The Human Race."
{DING!}
{Passive Title Effect Activated: All stats and Teammates’ stats increased by 500% for ten minutes.}
BOOM!!
A massive green shield manifested above Mirabella and expanded with the force of a supernova. It spread across the lands, covering one hundred miles in seconds, forming a colossal green dome that sealed every monster and player inside its emerald walls.
{DING!}
{Environmental Effect: All Non-human’s stats are reduced by 50%.}
"What is this power?"
The nine teammates were dumbfounded. They felt a sudden, violent surge of energy in their veins—their energy pools refilling instantly, their muscles tightening with god-like strength. The next moment, they all shot forward with enhanced speed, instantly stopping behind Mirabella and staring at the wall of monsters charging towards them.
"Get ready," Hitachi said, his voice steady despite the chaos. He drew his sword, the legendary blade glowing with the 500% stat multiplier.
The other eight followed his lead, drawing their newly acquired legendary class weapons. The clearing was a forest of glowing steel and burning energy.
’Why isn’t Mirabella drawing out any weapon? She asked us to draw them here, I hope she isn’t scared,’ Aurelia thought, her eyes darting between the incoming horde and Mirabella’s calm back.
Mirabella, however, was lost in a cold, tactical calculation. She was mentally scrolling through her skill tree, looking for the most efficient way to wipe the board.
’Crystallization? That will only deal with the ones on the ground. What about those above us? Annihilation Lightning? That will work, but can it take everything down with one move? What about Crystal domain? No... that is more like a cage. Chess Art... not so good with so many moving targets.’ She sighed deeply, her eyes flashing with a sharp, crystalline light.
’Forget it! I will just use everything.’
She finally stretched her hand forward, a small, dangerous smile appearing on her lips.
"Echo Of Frailty, Crystal Doom, Crystallization, Annihilation Lightning, Chess Art, Poisonous Ball, Tears of Swords, Ground Shaker, Sonic Gravity, Blood Slash, and... Arrow Storm."
With that, she lowered her hand and turned around, walking calmly toward her teammates. "Let’s watch the fireworks, and the death of 2,682 Monsters."
"...?!"
Next moment:
BOOM!!!!!!
BOOM!!!!!!
BOOM!!!!!!
BOOM!!!!!!
BOOM!!!!!! X10
The world turned white. The group stood frozen as a series of cataclysmic explosions rocked the Southern Region. Eleven maxed high-tier skills, launched simultaneously, created a resonance frequency that tore the monsters apart at a molecular level. Lightning rained from the sky while crystals erupted from the earth. Gravity crushed the flyers while spectral swords rained on the ground.
The explosions were so huge they felt the heat through the green dome. Craters formed continuously, and the systemic kill-feed began to scroll at a speed that was impossible to read.
Their weapons fell to the ground, forgotten. Their eyes were wide, staring through the clearing smoke as the monsters—starting with the five world Bosses—collapsed and disintegrated one at a time. The 2,682 red dots on the map vanished in less than thirty seconds.
The entire world, watching through the Arena screens, was paralyzed. These skills were too powerful for a single student to possess, but the most horrifying realization was the energy capacity. She had cast an entire endgame arsenal at once and hadn’t even broken a sweat.
".....?!!"
"Game Over," Mirabella smirked at them, the green dome shattering into a million sparkling shards.
