Chapter 572 - 511: Prophecy
Chapter 572 - 511: Prophecy
A cliff in the Holy Domain.
Sang Luo’s movements were restricted, so Yan had her rest and focus on her pregnancy. Yan, who rarely left his mountain, had come to accompany the two Little Angels.
The cliff was steep, at least a thousand feet high. Countless clouds and mists swirled around its midpoint. Looking down revealed a dark, bottomless abyss that inspired a sense of terrifying uncertainty.
Yan, however, could see through it all with ease. He saw that the bottom of the cliff was littered with black crosses, each nearly ten meters tall, stuck into the ground at haphazard angles and wrapped in chains. Buried beneath the earth were countless white bones, and many red-eyed carrion crows foraged everywhere, tearing at rotten flesh with their sharp beaks and greedily swallowing it down.
Even Yan’s heart skipped a beat at the sight. He hadn’t expected the Holy Domain, renowned for its sanctity and purity, to contain such a foul place.
Countless black, translucent energies—the wandering souls of the dead—drifted above the cliff. However, a Barrier sealed the sky above, trapping them forever. They could only remain in this place, slowly dissipating into the world.
Little Apple said, "This is the Land of Divine Punishment. Countless unforgivable villains are imprisoned here. After they die, their souls are trapped in this place forever... My sister and I think the environment here is a lot like the legendary Ghost Domain, so it should be perfect for the Blood Soul Fruit to grow!"
Yan nodded and smiled. "Indeed."
These two little ones were quite clever. Though they had never been to the Ghost Domain, their judgment was spot-on.
Just now, standing at the cliff’s edge, the wave of yin energy washing over him had made him feel for a moment as if he’d arrived at the border of the Ghost Domain.
"Then let’s hurry up and plant the seed!" Little Rose said expectantly, cradling the seed in her hands. "Mother’s pregnancy will surely take a long time again. If we can successfully grow the fruit, we can give her a big surprise!"
Little Apple nodded, and a dazzling golden light emanated from his body, enveloping the three of them as they descended to the bottom of the cliff.
Yan chose a fertile and relatively clean spot and helped the children dig a hole. Little Rose carefully buried the seed. Then, a pure white, holy light appeared in her palm and she gently sent it into the soil.
A moment later, the soil broke apart, and a trembling, yellow-green sprout emerged.
The small seedling took root and grew at a visible rate, quickly becoming a sturdy little tree.
A flash of amazement crossed Yan’s eyes. ’This child’s mastery of the Life Law is truly a divine blessing.’
Once they were back on top of the cliff, he asked the two Little Angels, "Where is your father?"
"Daddy went into seclusion. He told us to go stay with Mother and Uncle Yan for a few days."
Yan was, of course, more than happy to have them. He absolutely adored these lovable children and wished he could take them all to live in Qingqiu to liven up the Divine Venerable Mansion.
’But... Minos went into seclusion again?’
After a moment’s thought, Yan took the two children back to the Holy Palace.
They were greeted by a Holy Envoy with curly brown hair and olive skin. He was draped in the uniform white gauze, with gold chains bound around his bare arms, possessing a wild beauty rarely seen among Angels.
As soon as Little Rose saw him, she spread her snow-white arms and called out sweetly, "Uncle Muiseel! This is my mother’s partner, Uncle Yan. He wants to talk to Father about something!"
Muiseel gently took the Little Saint Lord into his arms and looked at the strange man before him.
The man was dressed in an elegant, simple white robe embroidered with winter plums. His long, snow-like hair was exceptionally pure and beautiful, and his features were so handsome they seemed otherworldly—even their Angel Clan’s most beautiful Holy Monarch would find it hard to compare. Above all was his powerful aura, one that had returned to a state of primal simplicity, so profound that even a Beast Emperor Rank expert like himself couldn’t begin to fathom it. He grew wary, but relaxed upon hearing the Little Saint Lord’s words and spoke respectfully, "So you are the Holy Empress’s partner. The Holy Monarch went into seclusion a few days ago and has not yet emerged. Please allow me to go and report this. Our distinguished guest may wait in the front hall."
"Uncle Yan, you can wait for Father in my palace. I’ve been reading some books lately and there are a few things I don’t understand that I’d like to ask you about!" Little Apple said.
Yan ruffled his hair and smiled. "Alright."
So he went to the two children’s palace to wait.
Muiseel hurried to the Holy Palace’s meditation chamber. It was a very secluded place, its location known only to a few of the Holy Monarch’s most trusted subordinates. It was also where the Holy Monarch always went for his seclusion.
Outside the meditation chamber, a red-haired Angel and a long, brown-haired Holy Envoy stood guard.
Muiseel looked at the red-haired Angel and told him what had just happened. "Noah, did Your Majesty say when he would emerge?"
Noah shook his head, a look of confusion on his handsome, distinctive face. "Who knows? His Majesty suddenly announced he was going into seclusion a few days ago but didn’t say anything else. He just told us to stand guard outside and gave no specific time for when he’d be out."
Muiseel worried, "Could someone have tried to assassinate the Holy Monarch? Is His Majesty injured?"
Noah shook his head. "There was an assassination attempt a few months ago, but just like always, it was just some insignificant small fry. The Holy Monarch is now at the Half-step Divine Venerable Realm. There are probably very few people in this world who could injure His Majesty."
"Perhaps His Majesty wants to break through to the Divine Venerable Realm," the long, brown-haired Four-winged Angel beside them said gently.
Muiseel thought about it and felt that made sense. Disturbing someone while they were trying to break through to a new realm was the biggest taboo, so he no longer insisted on reporting to the meditation chamber. Instead, he went back to tell Yan what he had learned.
"My deepest apologies, distinguished guest. His Majesty has not yet emerged from seclusion, nor did he inform us when he would. You can leave your contact information, and I will be sure to inform you the moment he emerges!"
"In that case, I won’t impose any longer. The two Little Saint Lords will stay in Qingqiu for a few days. I’ll bring them back later."
"Very well. We’ll have to trouble our distinguished guest to look after the two Little Saint Lords. This is a thank-you gift!" Muiseel offered a brocade box. Yan didn’t stand on ceremony, accepting it with a smile before turning and giving it to Little Rose.
On the way back, however, his expression changed slightly.
As the Holy Monarch, Minos rarely went into seclusion voluntarily. There were only two situations in which he would do so.
The first was when he was about to have a breakthrough.
But it had only been a few months since they last met. Minos hadn’t yet reached the bottleneck before the Divine Venerable Realm; he shouldn’t be attempting a breakthrough for at least another hundred years.
The second situation was that Minos’s Time Talent had prophesied some future event. He would need to focus his Talent Power to observe the prophecy.
And for Minos to make a prophecy, it was, nine times out of ten, related to Sang Luo.
For him to be this urgent... ’It must be a curse, not a blessing!’
After Yan returned to Qingqiu, he also used his Destiny Law, but... he saw nothing.
He could no longer see Sang Luo’s future destiny either.
Destiny, more often than not, is unpredictable.
The deeper one touches the secrets of heaven, the more unknown it becomes.
Luoluo’s current pregnancy, he feared... was anything but ordinary.
Yan did not tell Sang Luo about this. As for what exactly Minos had prophesied, they would only find out after he emerged from his seclusion.
