Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty

Chapter 564 - 503: The Obsession is Her

Chapter 564 - 503: The Obsession is Her

「Ghost Domain.」

「Rashamon Palace.」

Dun stormed in, his eyes bloodshot as he glared at the man in black robes on the high throne. He clenched his fists and gritted his teeth. "Was it you who took her away?"

Sha looked down on him with contempt. "And what if it was?"

"You! You clearly said you weren’t interested in her! Why did you come to my palace and steal her away?! I met her first! She’s mine!" Dun all but roared.

A profound darkness flickered in Sha’s teal eyes. "She doesn’t belong to you, nor are you worthy of her," he said coolly. "It seems your last stay in the Forbidden Prison wasn’t long enough."

"...That damn place can’t hold me!"

Dun’s humiliation turned to rage. He didn’t want to waste any more words with Sha; he just wanted to get her back.

But when Dun used his power to search the entire Royal Palace, he found no trace of Sang Luo. As a certain possibility occurred to him, his expression darkened. He stared at Sha in disbelief. "You erased her Undead Mark?!"

Dun had assumed Sha was just stealing his woman, but he hadn’t hidden her in the palace. That left only one possibility.

’Sang Luo is no longer in the Ghost Domain.’

Sha said, "She has left."

Dun completely lost his temper. "Are you insane? She has given birth for a Nine-tailed Heavenly Fox, which means she can bear offspring of the Divine Venerable Realm! I refuse to believe you don’t desire her like that!"

Sang Luo’s Fertility was enough to drive any male mad, drawing out their most primal urge to reproduce. Not even a Ghost King was immune!

Sha’s desire for her had to be even stronger than his own!

Yet Sha was acting completely out of character, exercising extreme restraint and letting her go time and time again!

Dun couldn’t understand what Sha was trying to do. This was not something the Rakshasa King he knew was capable of.

"Unless... you want to be trapped in the Ghost Domain forever, never able to leave!" Dun blurted out, the words slipping out in his haste.

The atmospheric pressure in the palace suddenly plummeted, becoming ice-cold.

The doors and windows slammed shut as a fierce wind whipped through the hall. Sha’s long black hair and robes billowed wildly. Black chains shot out from behind him like vipers, and a murderous intent flashed through his deep, dark teal eyes!

Dun realized he had misspoken in his agitation. A flash of panic crossed his eyes and, without a second thought, he teleported away and fled!

Just then, footsteps sounded from outside the palace. Sha did not give chase, instead retracting his murderous aura.

"Venerable King, you’ve been so busy lately. I’ve prepared a bowl of soup for you, and I hope it’s to your liking."

A sweet, coquettish voice drifted in from outside the door.

The Rakshasa King hadn’t visited the harem in a long time. After waiting in vain for him to summon her, the Ghost Concubine had no choice but to find an excuse and come to him herself.

When the guards outside the door saw the beautiful woman approaching gracefully, they couldn’t help but swallow hard. It wasn’t that they dared to covet the Rakshasa King’s woman, but that she exuded an incredibly potent and alluring scent.

The fragrance was enough to drive any male into a frenzy.

A female in heat—the time she was most fertile.

The Ghost Concubine saw the males averting their gazes, struggling to restrain themselves. A smug smile touched her lips; her efforts over the past few days had not been in vain.

When Sha saw the Ghost Concubine enter, his expression remained unchanged.

The Ghost Concubine placed the broth on the table and considerately walked over, intending to massage his shoulders. "Venerable King, would you like to try what I’ve made?"

"There’s no need. I have no appetite."

The Ghost Concubine was a little surprised, but she maintained her gentle smile. "Then what would you like to eat, Venerable King? I can go and make something else..."

"From now on, do not come here unless I summon you."

The Ghost Concubine’s smile froze. Panicked, she stammered, "Ven-Venerable King?"

"I dislike disobedient women. I also despise foolish women who fail to recognize their place." Sha’s dark teal eyes met hers, his smile not reaching them.

The Ghost Concubine’s face went white, and she hastily knelt. "It is my fault! I shouldn’t have disturbed Your Majesty’s peace. I—I will leave at once!"

With that, she scrambled to her feet and hurried away. Any thought of seducing him had vanished. She didn’t forget to take the bowl of soup with her.

Sha caught a whiff of the cloyingly sweet fragrance lingering in the air. His gaze darkened, and a flush of desire crept over his face.

But the figure on his mind was another—one of gentle, captivating grace.

「That night.」

Her delicate body, her enticing sobs.

It drove him mad, pushing him to the brink of losing control.

Sha closed his eyes and leaned back on his throne.

His Adam’s apple bobbed, and a bead of sweat trickled down his long neck.

After some time, he let out a long breath and opened his eyes again, the desire in their depths now gone.

He calmly glanced down at the mess he had made.

He considered himself unaffected by the Soul fragments, but she had become the object of his desire.

...

「North Continent, Ice-breaking City.」

A tall, black-robed figure appeared in the City Lord Mansion. The guards and servants who passed by him saw nothing at all.

Sha went straight to the Former City Lord’s room.

By tradition, the New City Lord had inherited the Former City Lord’s residence. His office and living quarters were meant to be the former study and bedroom.

The New City Lord still used the study for his daily work, but he had left the Former City Lord’s personal living quarters untouched, choosing an adjacent room for his own bedroom instead.

The layout and furnishings of the Former City Lord’s room were just as he had left them, perfectly preserved. The Former City Lord had been a clean and frugal person and hadn’t acquired many possessions. Someone came to clean the room regularly.

It was Sha’s first time here, yet an inexplicable sense of familiarity welled up inside him.

Such is the nature of memory, stirred by place and circumstance.

The memories he had scornfully cast aside now flooded his mind like a rising tide.

He seemed to know the story behind every object in the room.

This Black Sandalwood Bed... the Wolf Beast had traveled far to buy the lumber and had carved it with his own hands, all because the rare wood emitted a faint fragrance... a scent that woman loved.

On the second shelf of the bookcase were several small wooden animal figurines—crude things that woman had carved with a knife when she was bored.

Even the associated memories were now vivid in his mind’s eye.

Sha paused, then walked to a table by the window where many photographs were displayed.

Every single one was a picture of Sang Luo and the children when they were little.

He picked up a frame and looked closer.

In it, the woman sat in a wicker chair, holding a half-grown white Wolf Pup in her arms. She was smiling at the camera, her face as lovely as a blossoming flower.

Sha’s fingers tightened around the frame.

’He had never seen this image before, yet it was so intensely familiar.’

He had lived for too long, his Soul fragments as numerous as the stars. Whenever a fragment returned to his true self, its memories and emotions were usually as insignificant as a drop of clear water in a pool of ink.

’Just how deep must that Wolf Beast’s love for this woman have been to affect his true self to this degree?’

Lanxuan was working in the study when he suddenly sensed a strange fluctuation of energy. He rushed out of the room but saw nothing.

He searched the entire City Lord Mansion but found no sign of an intruder.

’Strange. Have I just been too tired lately? Am I hallucinating?’

Meanwhile, at the City Lord Mansion in Gangong City, a small, Red Meteorite Color Wolf Pup was running and playing with its friends in the courtyard.

Little Hetao’s growth period wasn’t as long as that of a Divine Beast cub, but it was slower than an ordinary pup’s. As the years passed, he was no longer as round and chubby as he used to be. He’d grown taller, his frame now more slender and elegant, but he was still just a half-grown pup.

He was chasing a ball when it suddenly seemed to hit something and bounce away.

"Huh?"

He glanced quizzically at the empty space in front of him, but not thinking much of it, he turned and went after the ball again.
