Chapter 180- Barter
Chapter 180- Barter
“There must be people you want to protect, right? These beasts won’t care who they attack. I hate to say it, but your people could be targeted too,” said the Queen.
Minoru shrugged. “Then I’ll protect them when the time comes.”
Seraphina let out a long sigh. Her secretary took the chance to speak. “Don’t you care about your people? Hundreds could die. And once normal humans see these monsters, the secret of our world—the other side—will be exposed.”
Minoru understood. Just a few months ago, he hadn’t known anything about the supernatural world either. If beasts suddenly appeared on the streets, there’d be no hiding it anymore.
Still, he said, “What can I even do? Sure, I’m strong. But not strong enough to stop a war.”
Seraphina leaned back, lacing her fingers as she looked at him. “If this were just about strength, we wouldn’t have called you here. I already have powerful warriors under my command.” Her expression turned serious. “You can do something strength alone can’t achieve. Your role is crucial—it might even decide the fate of the world.”
Minoru straightened, no longer so casual. He looked at her, puzzled and a little nervous.
This time, the blue-haired woman spoke. “Your role isn’t to fight this war… but to stop it before it begins. We want you to be our spy. To bring back information that can help us stop their forces before they cross the border.”
Minoru frowned. “You want me to get information… using seduction, I’m guessing?”
Seraphina nodded. Minoru looked even more confused. “No offense, but you’re the Succubus Queen. Even your maid is probably better at seducing people than I am. So why me?”
Seraphina rested her head on her palm and said calmly, “I’ve been watching you, Minoru. Ever since you threatened and traumatized my student… I’ve had my eyes on you.”
Minoru’s eyes narrowed. Before he could ask “who,” the secretary answered for him.
“Rika—the girl whose life you nearly ruined. And when she came back to get revenge, you only scarred her more.”
Minoru’s lips parted in shock. “Rika… was your student?”
Seraphina gave a light shrug. “Well, she’s loosely connected to my late sister, so I took her under my wing, just a little.” She leaned forward, her gaze sharp. “Thanks to her, I noticed you—an incubus who appeared out of nowhere. No pureblood claiming you, no one taking responsibility for your turning. And somehow, a newborn like you managed to overpower a half-blood.”
She let the words sink in before continuing. “So I kept watching. And I realized—you have a very unique set of skills that might be exactly what we need.”
The blue-haired woman added, “You can sense what people desire, peek into their minds, change your appearance… and, well, your bed skills are excellent—according to my lady, that is.”
That last part made a faint blush appear on Seraphina’s cheeks, though she quickly brushed it off.
“I’ve never met an enchantress with all these skills,” Seraphina said. “If I could, I would have approached one of them instead. But they don’t exist—not like you.”
Minoru looked both impressed and a little unsettled. “So you were stalking me, huh? I didn’t even notice.”
He paused, thinking for a moment before asking, “Why are you even getting involved in all this? Is the Demon Lord suddenly a peace-loving guy?”
Seraphina gave a wry smile. “He doesn’t care at all. It’s the council of the three branch families that decided to act. If the beast tribe breaks through to the other side, there’s a good chance the Vanquishers will send their armies here too. That kind of clash would mean a lot of unnecessary bloodshed.”
Minoru let out a chuckle. “Quite noble of you.”
The secretary shot him a sharp glare, but Seraphina ignored it and said, “I just don’t want innocent people to get dragged into this mess.” She looked him straight in the eye. “So… will you help us?”
Minoru tilted his head, then asked, “First, tell me exactly what I have to do.”
Seraphina glanced at the secretary, who tapped a few times on the terminal screen in her hand. A moment later, an image appeared.
It was of a silver-haired elf.
“Whoa… what a cutie,” Minoru muttered. The elf was stunning—delicate features, sharp eyes, a small, noble nose, and an aura of grace that felt almost royal.
“He’s the first heir of the Gladeborn Tribe,” the secretary said. “It’s the same clan that’s supplying weapons and archers to the beast tribe.”
“So,” Minoru said slowly, “you want me to seduce him and get information?”
Seraphina nodded. “Exactly. Whatever you can find out.”
Then her voice turned serious. “But remember—right now, the beast tribe doesn’t know where we stand. If they find out the Demon clan is against this war, it could shatter the alliance we’ve been holding together. If you get caught, the consequences could be huge.”
Minoru sighed, “You are scaring ne now…but well, I will do it.”
Seraphina softly smiled.
However, before the secretary could have resumed, Minoru relayed his demands, “But I need three things from you.”
“Hmm.” Seraphina nodded and asked him to continue.
“First, I want you to keep my family away from this. Any harm to my family would severe all our connections. Second, if this side anytime conspires against me or the human realm, I want you to tell me in advance.”
Seraphina nodded, “Accepted. And the third one?”
Minoru got up and advanced toward the woman.
He extended his hand to her and said, “I want you to find this man for me.”
The Succubus Queen frowned before taking his hand.
Closing her eyes, she saw the image of an incubus…and her mind turned blank for a moment.
She looked at Minoru wide-eyed before asking, “What do you need from the second Prince?”
Minoru grinned, “Nothing…Just wanna kill him.”

A/N:- Thanks for reading. If you don’t understand, then the demon he showed was the same one who killed Yuna’s parents. And also, are the pictures a good idea, or was it okay without them? I need a comment on this.
