Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Juden's POV:
Standing in my Study I watch out the window as my men reach the Palace walls. It seems that planning this day on the Princess’ sixth birthday was a smart move and soon this Kingdom will belong to me. I had planned everything correctly and found men who would side with me inside the Guards and Knights of the Palace who would help take control from King Alexander and his wife Queen Evelyn. My son is safe at our Estate and will not be implicated in this mess. The Knight he Squired to had whisked him away by my command when signs of my Rebellion began as promised.
Suddenly the door to my Study bursts open and my personal Elite Guard Ronan barges in, a look of panic on his face. This isn’t good.
"Lord Trilavantas, Princess Allisara, and her Maid are missing!" He gasps for breath, his panic evident. Anger courses through me as I turn to face the window again, my fingers clenched into fists.
"She was supposed to be in her room!” The plan was foolproof. My men would sneak into the Palace with many disguised as Guards. They would slink their way to Allisara’s room and slit her throat as she slept. An easy and clean kill. So how did they lose a little brat and her Maid?
“We went to personally kill her, but the room was empty and cold. Someone must have snitched to the Maid.” Ronan explains, his breath coming easier. Screams of those dying can be heard clearly now as the rebels 'find' their way into the Palace. At least one part of the plan is going accordingly. Turning to face Ronan, I go to give him an order when the door bursts open once again, King Alexander and Queen Evelyn rushing inside.
"Juden, are you okay?” King Alexander asks as he does his best to barricade the door with an armoire that I use for storage.
"What’s all the commotion, Alex?" I feigned concern as I rushed to his side, Ronan helping Queen Evelyn to a chair as Alexander and I worked to secure my Study. Little did they know that I was hoping for a chance like this.
"The rebels. They got into the Palace.” Turning to look at the sobbing Queen, I give Ronan a silent signal to prepare for the next phase of the plan.
"I saw. What a horrible thing to happen on the Princess’ birthday.” Walking towards my desk, I pick up the sword that I had finished sharpening just hours before. With the door barricaded and the King and Queen in my grasp, I can’t let this opportunity go.
“Juden, who do you think started this?” Queen Evelyn asks, turning her tear-stained eyes to me. Such a lovely blue colour that should have been mine, but Alexander swooped in, taking her from me when we were all at the Royal College. Walking towards her I give her a sympathetic smile. I loved this woman, wanted to marry her, but she chose Alexander over me. She looks up at me as I stand before her, those blue eyes I would have gladly drowned in now disgust me.
“Oh, I did.” I answer. With my confession, I plunge my sword deep into her chest, the shock and fear etched permanently onto her pretty little face as her heart is sliced in two like mine was that day ten years ago.
"Juden what are you doing?" King Alexander demands, trying to rush to his wife’s side. Pulling my blood-soaked sword from her chest, I swing it toward him, preventing him from doing anything for his now-dead wife.
"Taking a Kingdom and making it my own." Chuckling, I glare at King Alexander, watching his violet eyes widen in shock and confusion. We grew up together and studied in the same Academy. But I was the son of a Duke and he the Crown Prince.
“Why would you do this!” He demands as I walk towards him, watching the man who called me his brother grow hopeless.
“Because you never deserved Evelyn or the Throne.” With King Alexander backed into a corner, I plunge my sword into his abdomen, wanting him to die a slow and painful death.
“But our children would have been married. You would have been the next King’s Father.” Alexander’s voice grows slow as he falls to his knees, the sword swiftly being pulled out of him.
“But I want to be King.” I state with a grin, relishing in the pain on Alexander’s face and the realization that I, his best friend, betrayed him. Ronan comes forward and takes my sword from me. He will make sure that all traces of me being here has disappeared by tomorrow morning. No one will know what happened here tonight.
“It’s a good thing my daughter, my Alli, escaped then.” With his final breath, the King turns his head to look at his wife, a single tear slipping down his cheek. Finally, he is dead.
“Let's go. We need to find the Princess and Kill her.” With the King and Queen dead, Ronan and I unbarricade the door and knock the armoire onto the ground. I need it to look like the room was breeched. My men standing outside waiting for their orders and I sigh. Knowing that the next part is needed for my ascension to the Throne, I take a deep breath and allow my men to attack me. Everything needs to look real if people were to believe that I tried to protect the King and Queen. Looking at Ronan, he takes a sword from another man and stabs me in my abdomen. The pain is unbearable but necessary.
“It’s not fatal you Majesty, but you will bleed a lot. Bear with it for now.” Ronan helps me to the ground, allowing me to lay face first. Another man hands me a sword identical to the one I stabbed the King and Queen with, the blade looking as if its been in battle with some specks of blood on it.
As my vision blurs and the pain takes hold, I smile and know that as soon as we have Allisara in our grasp, the Kingdom will belong to me.

Allisara's POV:
With my body shaking with rage, I feel Sky place a hand on my shoulder to steady me. Hearing about the night of the Rebellion brought memories to my mind of that day, of my birthday. It was a simple party with my friends in attendance. My parents announcing that when I turned twenty I would be married to Demitrias.
"You killed my parents.” Glaring at the man who betrayed my family, I watch as his eyes shine with amusement as he looks at me. A loud slap sounds around the room and I find myself being pulled away from Juden who now sports a red handprint on the left side of his face, my right-hand stinging. Sky whispers into my ear, but the rage I feel burning inside me makes his voice sound muffled.
I want to kill the bastard sitting so smugly chained to that chair.
“Can’t say I blame you for that slap. You are a lot stronger than you look Allisara.” Juden taunts, his gaze meeting mine. It takes everything in me not to fight my way out of Sky’s grasp when all I want to do is kill this man with my bare hands. Fuck knowing the truth, he deserves to die.
“Alli, take a deep breath. You can’t let him get to you like this.” Sky whispers into my ear, his words finally registering in my mind. Closing my eyes, I take in the scent of his pine shower gel and do my best to calm down. Sky is right. I can’t allow Juden to get to me.
“Tell me why you thought I was dead then.” I demand walking to the far wall and leaning against it. I feel that standing as far away from this criminal is the safest option for him. If my rage takes hold again I know Sky can intercept and stop me before I do anything that will mark me as an unfit Queen from this range.
