Chapter 116 114: Gaining Underwater Kingdom's support.

Underwater Kingdom

As the short battle ended, several mermen and mermaids—including Triton's other daughters—quickly arrived at the scene, looking around in curiosity.

Ignoring the gazes of the onlookers, King Triton asked,

"Can someone please tell me what is going on?"

Turning his gaze, he looked at the guards, who stared back at him in equal confusion.

It seemed he wasn't the only ignorant one here...

"Wait! Dad, let me explain!"

Seeing that her father's anger had calmed down, Ariel opened her mouth and spoke while pointing at Lioro.

"This is Lioro! He's a great and powerful wizard who expelled the witch!"

"What?! A wizard??"

"He repelled the Witch? And even repelled King Triton...."

The onlookers burst into chatter, and the news of Lioro defeating Triton spread like wildfire.

"No way! Father lost?!"

Triton's other daughters' eyes darted back and forth between Triton and Lioro.

Their all-powerful father actually lost??

"Quiet!"

King Triton spoke in a heavy voice, instantly silencing everyone.

Turning to Lioro, he asked,

"Wizard Lioro... why have you come to our kingdom?"

"Dad, I brought him here...," Ariel suddenly replied in a meek voice, turning her head away, unable to look at him.

"You brought him here? Why? How do you know this wizard, Ariel?" King Triton asked in genuine surprise.

"Lioro is my!—um—He's my friend!"

"You're friends with this wizard?"

"Yes! And I-I met him... met him... on land...."

"What? Where did you meet him??"

"I met him on land!"

"You...."

King Triton stared at his daughter in disbelief, not knowing what to say.

First Alana, and now you too—No, wait! You were always a troublemaker!

But this time you've gone too far! Invading your own kingdom? What the hell is going through your head??

King Triton's body began shaking with anger.

Ariel closed her eyes, ready to receive a harsh scolding.

But before Triton could say anything, Lioro suddenly appeared in front of Ariel.

Seeing him come so close, Triton unconsciously took a step back.

"King Triton, it was my idea to attack your kingdom. You need not blame Ariel for it," Lioro said calmly, drawing everyone's attention.

"Wizard... is it true that you are Ariel's friend?"

"Yes. Ariel is my friend," Lioro replied as he raised his hand and gently patted Ariel's head, making her blush.

King Triton felt a spark of irritation at how casually Lioro touched Ariel, but considering the wizard's overwhelming strength, he held himself back and asked,

"Then why are you attacking my guards? Invading our kingdom? Is this what friends do?"

"King Triton, I simply came here to save my friend, not to injure your people."

"Save your friend?" Triton's eyes widened in surprise.

Did they capture this wizard's friend?

No… wait. We don't even have prisoners. What is he talking about...?

Seeing Triton's confusion, Lioro quickly explained.

"I'm talking about my friend Alana. I heard from Ariel that you held her captive because she went to meet me."

"Alana? You know my daughter Alana?? Don't tell me you're the human she met on land?!" King Triton unconsciously raised his voice, the shock too great to contain.

Just how many of my daughters are this wizard's 'friends'??

He quickly turned to look at his other daughters, who stood there with equal shock plastered on their faces.

Good. It seems only two were corrupted!

Letting out an internal sigh of relief, King Triton looked back at Lioro and fell silent.

Because he didn't know what to say.

He had merely asked his daughter to stay in her room.

How could that be called captivity?

He only wanted her to live a trouble-free life, but look at this! She somehow met a wizard who had now come to save her!—No, wait!

A light bulb lit up inside King Triton's mind.

Isn't this… a good thing?

His daughter was friends with a wizard powerful enough to defeat him with ease.

And they didn't seem like ordinary friends either, considering he came all this way to rescue her...

If Lioro were just a human, Triton would have felt aversion.

But he was a human wizard.

A wizard!

After quickly considering everything, King Triton coughed lightly and spoke in a dignified voice.

"Wizard Lioro, it seems we have had some misunderstandings. Come with me. Let us talk in a more suitable place."

Ariel couldn't believe her ears.

How did her overly strict father suddenly become so easy to talk to??

She almost felt like she was hallucinating!

Unlike the confused Ariel, Lioro simply smiled and nodded, easily agreeing to Triton's words.

A display of absolute strength makes everyone more agreeable.

Inside a Room

Why did Father suddenly summon me? Alana thought in confusion as she swam along the familiar path.

Arriving before a familiar room, she entered without hesitation.

And almost instantly—

Her eyes landed on a familiar face.

"Lioro?!"

Alana exclaimed in shock, her eyes widening as she swam straight toward him and hugged him tightly before pulling back.

"Wait! How are you here? Did you come to meet me? But how?..." she asked hurriedly while holding his hands.

From the side, King Triton observed the scene with narrowed eyes.

He had never seen his daughter act so enthusiastic before.

She didn't even notice his presence...

"What? Capture? You came to help me??"

Alana froze in confusion after hearing Lioro's explanation.

Was she really in captivity?

Her father had told her to stay in her room, but that wasn't really...

For a moment, she didn't know how to feel.

She was happy that Lioro came to save her, believing she was in danger—but at the same time, the situation felt awkward.

"Ahem! How long are you going to ignore us, daughter?"

"Father! And Ariel!"

Alana quickly turned around and greeted them.

Suddenly, she remembered something.

Wait… where's Cid?

She quickly scanned the room, but couldn't find him anywhere.

He didn't come?...

A faint sadness crept into her heart.

He didn't come to help her even when he knew she was in danger?

Demonic human... and I thought of you as a friend...

After that, the four of them began talking.

Alana was surprised to learn that Ariel was the one who approached Lioro and started everything.

King Triton was shocked to discover that his daughters had visited the Kingdom of Arendelle using Lioro's magic.

He was even more surprised to learn that Lioro was affiliated with Arendelle.

Is this destiny? Could this be the chance for the sea and land to finally meet? King Triton wondered silently.

The idea of establishing relations with humans had existed for generations, but each time, the issue of trust stood in the way.

However, seeing the bond between Lioro, Alana, and Ariel… it might finally be possible.

As Triton was deep in thought, Lioro suddenly spoke, catching him off guard.

"King Triton, how about forming an alliance between Arendelle and your kingdom?"

"Oh?" Triton replied with interest. "Wizard Lioro, can you elaborate?"

How could Lioro propose exactly what he had been thinking?

Wizards truly were mysterious beings.

"As you know, both kingdoms are very close to each other. I believe Arendelle would be the best place for the mermen to finally come out of hiding and become part of the growing world..."
