From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 470: The Great Crusade Era!

Chapter 470: The Great Crusade Era!

The varied reactions of the people present allowed Bai Yang to harvest quite a bit of Wish Power, which was an unexpected bonus.

Seeing their expressions ranging from excitement to deep thought, Mario chuckled and waited for them to compose themselves before speaking.

"In the world where Rasinger and the others reside, Demons are constantly squeezing the living space of The Faithful. Therefore, when we go to that world, we will also be fighting against Demons!"

"Every bishop, priest, pastor, clergyman, monk, and nun will be assigned a combat mission! Our enemies are Hell and its Demons! The highest-ranking Demons will naturally be dealt with by Heaven, but the lower-ranking Demons and their cultists will require our people to fight them!"

"The mission we shoulder is to save that world!"

Hearing this, everyone's expressions turned solemn. This matter was far more terrifying than they had imagined. Angus stepped forward to ask, "Crown, will we be crossing over in our true bodies?"

"There is no need to cross over in your true bodies; it will be a journey of the soul! Rasinger will hold a special ritual there. All those who are selected will travel to that world, but their physical bodies will remain here!"

Mario's words were clear and composed, carrying a unique serenity that made everyone listen quietly. "Your souls will receive Heaven's protection in that world. You will possess new bodies to help the people there!"

"If you die over there, you will return to this world, but you will never have the chance to go back!"

Mario looked at their varied expressions, knowing exactly what was on their minds. He smiled and said, "Yes, for The Church, this can be considered a training exercise. After all, those who go will be on the true front lines, directly facing death and fear. They will be confronting Demons and Cultists in a world many times more terrifying than the current America!"The vast majority of America was still safe. The unsafe areas were mostly the big cities. This was typical of a nation with Puritan roots—freedom and indulgence thrived in the metropolises, while the small rural towns remained strongholds of tradition and conservatism.

Therefore, the overall safety of most regions made the dangerous areas seem somewhat less threatening by comparison.

But Rasinger's world was completely different. In that world, the Demons had formed fully structured units and armies, occupying more than half of the globe's landmass. That level of corruption and those terrifying legions posed a far more dreadful danger.

It was so dangerous that Rasinger had actively sought him out to request aid!

"What we need are Devout Persons with sufficient faith, not just ordinary individuals looking to build their resumes, because every single person is crucial!" As soon as Mario said this, everyone knew exactly what he meant.

This might be an opportunity, but it was undoubtedly a test from Heaven, or rather, from The Lord. Every person who crossed over would inevitably be evaluated, and perhaps even watched over entirely, by the angels.

When that time came, it would not be a place to coast along on seniority, but rather an absolute vetting of one's future path.

Within the system of The Church, interpersonal connections meant nothing—at least not anymore. The only things that could truly influence an Ascension were one's piety level and their divine rating.

Thus, everyone had already made their own decisions in their hearts.

Mario spoke few words, but everyone understood the underlying meaning.

This was an aid mission to Otherworlds, yet thanks to Cardinal Rasinger, the risks had been minimized. In practical terms, this was a monumental opportunity!

Every person who went would fight against Demons. Did that mean they would acquire Transcendent Power, gain combat experience, and perhaps even have the chance to interact with Transcendent beings, angels, or a Saint?

They would be mentored by Saints and guided by the Lord's Radiance. The benefits gained from such tutelage and guidance were simply unimaginable!

It could even be said that everyone selected to go would become a future Transcendent Being.

Angus, however, gleaned something else from this. He looked at Mario with concern. "Crown, you have only just recovered. Shouldn't you rest a little longer? I can go to that world in your place!"

He harbored no selfish motives. For him and Mario, whether or not they went to the other world was irrelevant, as they were already at the absolute pinnacle of this world.

Their future progress would merely involve elevating the Pope Precept or the Cardinal Precept, but that would be a gift from Heaven, not something earned through this kind of combat experience.

Therefore, if they went to that world, their sole purpose would be to save The Faithful. In that sense, they were true, selfless contributors!

Mario shook his head. "No, I think this is a good opportunity, a good opportunity to place the power of this world into your hands... Father Angus Bennett, when I saw your deeds, I had already decided who the next Pope would be, and you have not disappointed me!"

"I do not have much time left to live. This body is already battered and decaying. Being able to go to a new world to help others brings me great joy!"

Mario's body was indeed failing. The root cause of his illness had been planted in the Caribbean Sea. The damage caused by forcefully elevating his power and wearing the Holy Thorn Crown had long left this eighty-year-old man in a precarious state. The only reason he could still stand here looking so normal, aside from the massive amount of Transcendent Power supporting his body, was his incredibly resilient heart and sheer willpower!

As a titan of liberation theology, a man who had fought guerrilla warfare in the South American jungle for the liberation of the people across the entire region, he possessed a hardened spirit that ordinary people could hardly imagine.

Enduring his physical ailments and the exceptionally terrifying pain, he entrusted numerous affairs to the people before him:

"Angus, give me your hand..."

Mario pulled out the Holy Thorn Crown and placed it carefully into Angus's hands. "This world, The Church, The Faithful here, and the Divine Glory of The Lord—I leave them all in your care!"

"I will return here, and when I do, I hope that is the moment you proudly tell me you are ready to become the Pope!"

Angus was deeply moved and replied with utmost seriousness, "Rest assured, my life and everything I have will be dedicated to The Lord. I will spread His light across the entire world, ensuring that every believer receives the greatest reward!"

The Holy Thorn Crown had changed owners, now carefully tucked away in Angus's robes.

For now, he was still not the Pope, but he was already the highest combat power of The Church in this world!

No one would doubt this, because that shocking Divine War upon the Caribbean Sea had already proven everything!

Mario smiled and continued speaking, "In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

"Alright, go and inform the Shepherds about this. We need many, many Shepherds to go to that world, to fulfill their promises to The Lord, and to accomplish the salvation of those believers!"

Everyone dismissed themselves. Of course, they did not need to return to their own countries to accomplish this; they simply notified their subordinates and passed the message along.

Within minutes, this news had reached every Christian nation across the globe.

They learned of this massive opportunity. Those under the banner of the Catholic Church were actually faring relatively well, for having undergone a Purification, they were still able to restrain themselves.

But the Eastern Orthodox adherents and Protestants could not hold back in the slightest!

"Going to Otherworlds to receive guidance from Saints or even angels, and facing Cultists, heretics, and Demons head-on?"

"Receiving baptism from Heaven? Becoming a bishop, priest, or Deacon in another world? And gaining the power to command armies?"

"We can go too? Every Devout Person is eligible?"

This announcement reignited hope for those believers who had been considering converting.

They had originally thought that The Lord's gaze was solely fixed upon the Catholic Church. They were already quite despondent, and many dioceses had directly lost a significant number of their faithful.

But now, the message from the Vatican told them that The Lord had never abandoned a single believer. As long as they were devout enough, everyone would have the chance to earn The Lord's favor!

More importantly, this allowed many people to regain their faith. They knew they were not abandoned; they still had the possibility of entering Heaven after death.

This surge in confidence caused people in many regions to step foot into churches once more—not for the selection process, but simply for Worship.

The impact brought about by this announcement was immeasurably vast and profound!

It sent ripples through the remaining billion-strong dioceses outside the Catholic Church, causing the Wish Power in this world to suddenly skyrocket once again at this very moment!

"Now this is an unexpected delight!" Bai Yang remarked with a sigh of admiration. "The Great Crusade Era begins with The Church!"
