From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 409: Why Keep Believers Ignorant?

Chapter 409: Why Keep Believers Ignorant?

Jupiter, Europa.

If the things they had previously heard about this world back on the Dylan Continent left some gods half in doubt...

...then the sights they beheld through their avatars in this world presented a reality they simply had to accept, regardless of how unbelievable it seemed!

After all, everything could be faked except for Matter itself.

Therefore, when the magnificent celestial body of Jupiter appeared before the three gods, even these three Overseas Students subordinate to three deities of Powerful Divine Power wore expressions of absolute shock!

Garfield and Griffith had brought in the Lord of Order, Oggses, to strengthen their alliance, ultimately spearheading this Overseas Student program.

However, to prevent others from accusing them of being overly greedy, the three prideful, lawful-good Chief Gods ultimately chose to send three deities with Weak Divinity, rather than outright dispatching three gods of Medium Divine Power to crash the party.

"By the Lord of Order..." At this moment, gazing at the colossal celestial body of Jupiter stretching across the horizon before them, even the most arrogant god under the Lord of Order let out a gasp of sheer awe that seemed to stem from the depths of his soul.

This was simply too absurd, too terrifying. The planet right in front of them was already larger than the entirety of the Dylan Continent they knew!

"Well? I did not lie to you, did I?" Luowa stood nearby, feeling utterly vindicated and immensely satisfied. The feeling was incredibly refreshing. Previously, he had been constantly questioned, branded as a fabrication spun by the neighboring world and a traitor who betrayed his own realm!

But now, everything was different. There was nothing more convincing than the truth placed right before their eyes.

These gods, who originally viewed him as a country bumpkin, could not utter a single word. They could only marvel at the majestic grandeur of this world!

The deity serving under the Lord of Order, a god of Weak Divinity named Faisal, voiced his astonishment. "Could it be that the Asgardian Pantheon gifted such a behemoth to you?"

"Of course not!" Luowa shrugged. "In truth, this is an unclaimed planet. Anyone can harvest Matter from it. Though, not right now. To maintain the stability of Earth, the gods have forbidden the extraction of Matter within this Star System!"

"Why is that?"

"I do not know. The prohibition was issued by the Pantheon, coming directly from His Excellency Odin. If you wish to ask, I can take you to the Pantheon to have a look!"

Hearing this, all the gods fell silent. They knew of the Pantheon and Odin. The Chief God of the Asgardian Pantheon, the ruler of a divine realm, was an existence far more Dominant than their own Chief Gods. Actually going to ask would undoubtedly invite trouble.

Luowa casually offered a word of comfort. "Naturally, the land beneath your feet belongs to me!"

This revelation sparked another wave of shock. They finally realized that beneath them lay a massive zone of Matter, large enough to support several gods of Medium Divine Power. Judging by his tone, was this entirely given to Luowa?

The envy and jealousy in their eyes were palpable. For them to ascend to Medium Divine Power, they would have to hoard resources for an eternity and expend immense effort just to barely scrape together enough. If they failed once, they would have to try a second or third time!

But now, this former outcast of the Dylan Continent, a Demigod with absolutely no backing, possessed a direct path and the resources to reach Medium Divine Power! How could they not be jealous?

Moreover, looking at the immense material foundation before them, they had no doubt that if Luowa reached the level of Medium Divine Power, this Divine Pantheon would generously provide the resources for his next ascension as well.

In this world, gods did not need to worry about resources at all. As long as they possessed the will, they could ascend endlessly!

Just as these individuals were endlessly contributing their Wish Power, Luowa suddenly received a message. "Ah! His Excellency Loki has gone to handle matters in Helheim and does not have the time to meet you at the moment. However, His Excellency Heimdall said that Earth is currently holding a Viking funeral, and he asked me to go take a look!"

"Are any of you interested in joining me? We can go observe our believers, as well as the believers of other Divine Pantheons!"

Hearing Luowa's invitation, Faisal and the others nodded slightly. Of course, they wanted to go.

After all, while they were ostensibly Overseas Students participating in a cultural exchange, they were actually secret agents for the gods, sent to gather all possible information about this world.

Luowa raised his hand and shouted, "Heimdall, if you please!"

The next second, on Europa, illuminated by Jupiter's massive Great Red Spot, a rainbow-like beam of light enveloped them, instantly transporting them from Europa to the skies above Earth!

This spatial shift, the intertwining of time and space, and the instantaneous transition between worlds brought immense pressure and a profoundly novel experience—something the gods of the Dylan Continent had never encountered.

Looking at the aqua-blue planet below, Luowa spoke to the three shaken gods beside him. "The world being too large and having too many deities is not necessarily a good thing. Therefore, the Asgardian Pantheon specifically appointed His Excellency Heimdall to guard the Bifrost, utilizing this divine artifact capable of penetrating time and space as a transport tool for the gods!"

Faisal's face filled with horror upon hearing this. "A divine artifact capable of penetrating time and space? Then the god who controls this artifact must be..."

"Naturally, he ranks among the Chief Gods. In your terms, he would likely be classified as possessing Powerful Divine Power," Luowa replied. Hearing this deepened their shock. A deity with Powerful Divine Power guarding an artifact? Was that not equivalent to a gatekeeper? What sheer extravagance! No matter how important this gate was, it made absolutely no sense to have a Chief God of Powerful Divine Power act as a mere guard!

Did this not mean they just had a deity with Powerful Divine Power act as their chauffeur?

Why did they suddenly feel so honored by the association?

Luowa took a step forward, bringing the three alongside him to the Caribbean Sea in the blink of an eye. He took the opportunity to explain their current objective.

"My true body is still undergoing ascension. Therefore, this time, we are only here to observe, not to act!"

"Of course, the Asgardian Pantheon will send a specialist down to take charge of this event. Gods from two other Divine Pantheons will also be present. If you are interested, you can take your time to watch!"

Luowa's words piqued the trio's Curiosity. Hal, who already had experience navigating other worlds, asked directly, "Three Divine Pantheons appearing together? Won't your believers see you directly?"

"Exactly. We want them to see us directly. Otherwise, how can we ensure they continue to believe in the gods?" Luowa said calmly. "Manifesting Divinity Before People is fundamentally a crucial step in gathering Divine Faith. Furthermore, with a crisis approaching, it is even more imperative to recruit believers and allow them to achieve Transcendence!"

"Who knows, I might even manage to gather a couple more Extraordinary Believers and turn them into Propagators of my name in this world..."

Luowa was also brimming with excitement. He knew the Asgardian Pantheon managed the Myriad Worlds across a vast expanse and certainly would not invest too many resources here. Did that not mean he could monopolize these resources for himself?

The Asgardian Pantheon had very lax requirements for believers. Basically, as long as one believed, it was fine. Who exactly they prayed to did not matter much, as all Divine Faith ultimately flowed to the Pantheon.

But Luowa was different. He was a new god. Even if the faith ultimately went to the Pantheon, having it filter through him first brought immeasurable benefits!

"You just appear before your believers like this? Instead of keeping them ignorant?" Faisal asked in surprise, finally noticing a fundamental difference between their two worlds.

On the Dylan Continent, gods and believers were strictly separated, with virtually no interaction between them.

Because they needed their followers' faith—and in staggering quantities—they had to maintain their own mystery and ensure their believers remained ignorant. Only in this way could they ensure their believers stayed devoted and were not poached by other deities.

Since they lacked the means to devise countless methods for cultivating Wish Power and faith, they could only resort to the simplest approach: exploiting human nature.

Preying on the weaknesses of human nature to ensure these believers worshipped only one god for their entire lives was the best, simplest, and most convenient method.

Hearing this, Luowa looked astonished.

"Are you people even from a proper Divine Pantheon? Why would you keep your believers ignorant? Doesn't that sabotage your own growth in power?" Luowa asked curiously.

"Shouldn't believers be as strong as possible? The more powerful a believer is, the easier it is for them to provide Wish Power, allowing us to grow rapidly!"

"If I had the ability, I would make absolutely every single one of my believers achieve Transcendence!"

He had now completely aligned himself with the Asgardian Pantheon, fully embracing the stance of a city dweller's questioning of country bumpkins. Yet, his words left the others completely speechless.

"Why are you unwilling to do this? Do you just not like to?"

If the gods of the Dylan Continent actually dared to try this, they would just end up being bled dry by their believers! After all, where would they find enough resources to provide for every single god?

At this thought, the envy and yearning in the eyes of the three gods practically overflowed!

Was this world still hiring? How about taking us?
