From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 392: The Holy Thorn Crown Descends!

Chapter 392: The Holy Thorn Crown Descends!

The World Security Council was a meeting used by Major Powers to discuss global security—this was originally a joke, but today, it had become a reality.

Because today, they were genuinely using a video conference to discuss the safety of the world.

"Our Nuclear Missiles are ready!" Golden Hair declared. "Vladimir, what about yours?"

The aloof man, still standing amidst the wind and snow, gave a slight nod. "The Tsar Hydrogen Bomb is right beside me. As soon as your missiles launch, mine will also cross the Pacific Ocean—I only hope your people do not intercept them!"

"Intercept? And then wait for all of us to become the False God's Achievements?" Golden Hair scoffed self-deprecatingly. "I originally thought that becoming the leader of a Major Power meant I could dictate everything. Now I realize we are merely a trifle beneath the Supernatural..."

"At least you are a trifle. We do not even count as that!" the Prime Minister of Great Britain laughed bitterly. "You still have Supernatural factions and can still resist. But what do we have left?"

Hearing his words, the others nodded in agreement. It was true; they at least had Supernatural forces to rely on. But this former World Hegemon had yet to unearth even the slightest bit of special power, let alone true Transcendence.

"If we truly survive this Supernatural Crisis, no matter what, I will push forward the development of Supernatural Factions!" Macron declared loudly. "This kind of situation cannot happen near our borders ever again!"

His statement echoed the thoughts of the other three men present. They never wanted to experience this kind of helplessness again—a situation where they were completely powerless and could only watch as Supernatural Factions fought desperately on their own.

Golden Hair's expression darkened even further. He recalled what he had told the members of The Church—"Our Supernatural Warriors can also contribute"—and Leon's subsequent rejection."Great Leader, your warriors do not possess sound minds. If they go, I fear they will instantly turn into someone else's warriors. On a Supernatural battlefield, Purity of Spirit is often much more important than Combat Power!"

With those harsh words, Leon had revealed an even crueler reality to Golden Hair: the Supernatural Teams he believed to be so powerful were not even qualified to step onto the battlefield!

This was absolutely terrifying, yet it further solidified the resolve of these Major Power leaders to establish Supernatural Teams and even implement Universal Supernatural Promotion.

They refused to encounter such a scenario again, nor did they wish to be left at the mercy of others. Thus, this was the only conclusion they could reach.

Naturally, this entire scene fell into Bai Yang's eyes. He chuckled lightly. "You see, under external pressure, these nations will still make the right choices!"

"Yes, Crown, they have no other choice!" Alvin's voice slowly rang out. "Then, is your Holy Thorn Crown ready to be deployed?"

"Of course. Our goal is the dissemination of Transcendence and the shaping of an enemy, not to actually roleplay a terrifying, murderous creature!" Bai Yang explained. "Such a heavy Price has already been paid. It is time to wrap things up!"

"This incident will let them know just how terrifying a Supernatural Crisis can be and the necessity of attaining Transcendence themselves. It will also clearly show those Mortals who yearn for Supernatural power the true consequences of such a crisis!"

"Let us finish this. There are no more fish to catch!"

...

Meanwhile, on the surface of the Windless Graveyard in the Caribbean Sea, the immense crisis was still unfolding!

"Sss..." Angus hissed through his teeth, staring at the dimming Cross on his chest with a profound sense of heartache.

This was the Divine Faith and strength he had steadily accumulated all the way from San Diego!

'What a pity that this power can only delay the inevitable, rather than secure a victory!' Angus thought with a pang of regret. He turned his head toward the distance. Over there, Caroline prayed for the twelfth time to summon power, reducing the crystal men outside the barrier of light to dust.

Unfortunately, it was completely useless. They all knew that the concept of Death simply did not exist for these Monsters.

They could be killed countless times and still crawl back up countless times, persisting until they wore all the defenders down to nothing.

'If there truly is no hope left... I will use my final bit of power to send Caroline away!' Angus suddenly resolved. 'She is different from the rest of us. She is a messenger of The Lord. She will carry on a new hope!'

Right at that moment, Angus was shocked to discover that the overwhelming pressure he had been enduring suddenly diminished!

Beside him, Evan's previously tense body instantly went limp, and he plummeted straight into the sea.

However, everyone knew that this was not because the Monsters before them had suddenly grown a conscience, but because reinforcements had arrived!

The group looked back and saw an old man walking across the surface of the sea. His pace was not fast, but his strides appeared infinitely steady.

"His Eminence Mario!" Angus hurriedly called out. "You have come as well?"

Mario nodded. "I had to come! Otherwise, people would say that I, Mario, gambled the entirety of The Church while hiding safely in the rear..."

"They would never, Your Eminence," Angus quickly reassured. "Such a thing would not happen in today's Church!"

"I know!" Mario waved a hand. "But... seeing so many of my brothers and sisters die before my eyes, I too would feel heartbroken!"

His expression turned solemn. "Cardinal Angus Bennett, I order you to take them and leave this place immediately!"

Angus wanted to say more, but realizing it would be meaningless, he could only nod with a heavy expression. "Your Eminence, you... please be careful!"

He was not actually worried that Mario lacked power. Only true members of The Church clearly understood just how terrifyingly immense the power wielded by the Pope was!

After all, the Divine Faith of the entire world flowed directly to The Lord, and the Pope was the only Mortal capable of manipulating that power!

But even so, his opponent was the terrifying False God standing before them. If Mario failed as well, they would truly be out of hope.

Hearing his words, Mario nodded gently. "I understand. Go now!"

His voice was soft and his tone mild, yet it carried an incredibly gentle power that significantly alleviated the pressure emanating from Kuchamama. Mario pulled out his Bible, opened it, and began to recite toward the False God: "Abraham said, 'My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a Burnt Offering.'"

Amidst his chanting, Angus led the heavily injured survivors into a slow retreat. They fell back to the ship where Caroline was stationed, and then continued to withdraw further.

Throughout this process, Mario never ceased his recitation. Meanwhile, Kuchamama and the crystal men surrounding him returned to their original positions, staring at Mario without uttering a single word.

"Hah! With such vibrant Wish Power, I thought Yahweh had descended in person..." Kuchamama sneered. Naturally, he would never admit that he had been startled.

After all, during that ancient Divine War, the immense pressure that man named Yahweh had inflicted upon them was simply too overwhelming!

Monotheism represented this unique Divine Pantheon. The fact that no other Deities existed within it meant that this single God possessed a power so absolute it still made him palpitate with fear to this day.

Therefore, upon discovering that this power merely stemmed from a Mortal, he could not help but mock, "What? Yahweh does not have the time to face me, so he sends you to bear his power and march to your Death?"

Mario stared back at him. Suddenly recalling the information he had read in the archives, he countered, "False God... do you still remember the blood-stained Shroud? The Church still preserves Holy Relics such as that!"

Hearing this, Kuchamama replied coldly, "Are you talking about that Priest who came from the sea? Heh! He exhausted all his strength trying to protect this Sea Area, trying to protect his Believers from being corrupted!"

"Unfortunately, he failed! He could only watch as I slaughtered everyone on his ship and fully corrupted the Holy Relic in his hands!"

"Right Before Death, he was still praying for his Lord to save him. Yet, I have left his bones scattered here for a full three hundred years!"

"Allow me to ask on his behalf: Where is your Lord? Is he still around?"

Faced with these words intended to Attack the Heart, Mario remained silent. Instead, he brought out the Crown of Thorns he had brought along and placed it atop his head.

The elderly Pope knelt on the ground just like that and began his prayer:

"O my Father, This circlet of thorns is so heavy, Just as Your Son bore on that day.

Every sharp point piercing flesh and bone, Repeats Your sorrowful sigh in the garden.

I beseech You to make this mortal wood sacred—

Allow it to commemorate the agony of Golgotha, Rather than my own insignificant bleeding.

If this crown of thorns must be stained with new blood, I pray You make it

Not a Shield, but an Altar.

Not a weapon, but a testament.

Not a trophy, but an enduring hope.

When the abyss roars and draws near, Let me harbor but a single thought:

'Thy will be done upon the thorns, As it was once upon the Cross.'

Amen."

The Crown of Thorns upon his head, which had originally faintly gleamed with a golden hue, completely concealed its radiance in that moment, becoming incredibly unadorned and ordinary.

Only then did Mario stand up. Facing Kuchamama, he stated softly, "The Lord is certainly present. He resides right above our heads, watching over everything we see!"

"George once asked you: do you bleed? I also wish to ask the same question, Sir Kuchamama. Under the Divine Faith of Christians across the entire world, will you creatures who style yourselves as gods bleed?"

Above his head, a Hebrew Imprint materialized on the Holy Thorn Crown, rendering his figure incomparably radiant and dazzling!

"If you do, then embrace the judgment from all Believers!"

He waved his hand, and a colossal pillar of white radiance descended from the heavens!

The strike of Divine Faith had arrived!
