Chapter 325: The Era of the Extraordinary, Is It Your Turn to Control It?
Chapter 325: The Era of the Extraordinary, Is It Your Turn to Control It?
"Crown, isn't doing this a bit too extreme?" Looking at the chaotic scene that had directly turned into a global game of Werewolf following Gaap's speech, Alvin felt slightly uncomfortable.
Bai Yang shook his head. "I did not want to do this either, but haven't you seen it? Alvin, even after we released all the information regarding Transcendence, how much has this country really changed?"
"They are numb, they are foolish, and they lack any clear understanding of their own situation. They are merely probing forward bit by bit! And even more people are unwilling to even attempt that much!"
"Do you think they would move forward if we did not force them with this method?"
"You are right!" Alvin fell silent. "The people of this country seem as though they have already been ruined..."
Bai Yang's decision was not aimless talk. It was the final conclusion he reached after careful deliberation and a thorough examination of the country's current state.
In this grand drama of confrontation between The Church and Golden Hair, Bai Yang saw the unique underlying nature of this country: the theory that ordinary people were useless.
In the eyes of this country's elite, ordinary people were nothing but a bunch of expendable supplies. It was like this in the past era, and it remained the same in the current era—perhaps even worse!
The tentacles of capital reached every corner of the nation, leaving everyone struggling amidst this terrifying crisis!
Just look at America. With such a high influx of population every year, an even greater number of undocumented immigrants, and a persistently high birth rate at the bottom rung of society, how did they still maintain a population growth close to zero? These people could not have all died natural deaths, right? Or was it that the majority died unnatural deaths, yet no one knew exactly how they perished?
It was just like these High-level Officials; their attitude toward the lower class was identical to how the High-Caste in India viewed the lower castes. The only difference was that their country lacked a brainwashing tool specifically named the Caste System.
Therefore, the High-level Officials of America actually harbored feelings of envy and jealousy toward India. Compared to the submissive citizens of India, their own populace was still a bit too unruly.
As for the ordinary populace, most had completely lost their capacity for independent decision-making and self-awareness through prolonged brainwashing.
Ordinary poor people were trapped between life and death all day long. They had to take out loans just to buy food and even sell their blood for a cup of coffee. The crushing weight of various life pressures left them overwhelmed, yet they continued to sink deeper into the trap of consumerism.
Their level of education did not even allow them to clearly identify who their real enemies were. They only knew that their miserable state was the fault of other ethnic groups, the fault of undocumented immigrants, the fault of the LGBT community, or the fault of excessively cheap foreign manufactured goods!
Those true bloodsuckers had long since hidden themselves, becoming an integral part of this world and the very source of information used to fool the populace.
Ordinary people did not even know why they had ended up like this, nor did they know what capital had truly done to them. They could only vent their fury on the fabricated enemies created by that very same capital.
And as for themselves, after cursing to their hearts' content, they could only hand over their ballots, swallow the meager, petty benefits of voting, and ultimately continue dragging their one-hundred-and-fifty-kilogram bodies around until capital squeezed every last ounce of strength from them.
They did not know how to think. No one taught them how to think, and no one would dare teach them how to think.
They knew neither right from wrong nor good from bad. They had no avenues for learning, did not understand the concept of surplus value, and failed to comprehend what value they themselves possessed.
They lived in a muddled daze and died amidst deep-seated and intractable miseries. Aside from serving as expendable supplies for this "great" nation, they possessed no independent thoughts of their own.
Even so, there were those who refused to let them off easily. For instance, those who participated in protests against Politicians for the sake of money would end up dead in their own homes over trivial reasons, or simply "disappear" altogether.
The police would not investigate further upon receiving a report, and all relevant personnel would be directly silenced. This was the national condition of America!
As for certain individuals who truly awakened to reality, they would die at an inconspicuous time in an "accident" or a blatantly "deliberate" slaughter!
From this attitude alone, one could easily see the true stance their High-level Officials held toward the lower-class populace. There was never any so-called "placation or compromise"; there was nothing but deception and slaughter!
This country did not allow its people to have independent thoughts, and even in the Era of the Extraordinary, this approach had not changed in the slightest.
Bai Yang had ignited the revival of Transcendent Power in California. Originally, San Diego and Luo City were both starting points for Transcendence. As long as people knew the pasts of those Transcendent Beings, someone would inevitably try to imitate them.
After that, a powerful resurgence of Transcendent Power would naturally follow.
But what he had not anticipated was that whether it was the magic circles used for summoning a Demon, the process of channeling one's ancestral Deities, or devout explorations similar to Angus's—none of it existed in this country anymore!
Those High-level Officials caught wind of this information and then ruthlessly blocked off the various sources. Whether it was the demonic Sacrifice performed by that "mother," the various ritual scenes of the Original Inhabitants, the root cause of the Tornado, the unexpected accident surrounding Angus, or the judgment that took place at the San Diego Garden Cathedral—all of it was censored.
It was not just here in Luo City. The events that occurred in New York, Illinois, Miami, and even at that school for Original Inhabitants were all twisted into specious appearances and misleading tales by the Media controlled by America.
All the details within those stories had vanished, leaving behind only a manufactured malice toward Transcendence.
"How purely ironic. The Government is limitlessly searching for ways to control Transcendent Power, yet within public opinion, there lies the deepest, most chilling malice toward it!" Bai Yang stated coldly. "Since they struck the first blow, I will strike the final one!"
He naturally knew the purpose behind the actions of American Officials. They simply wanted the authorities to take control of Transcendence first, allowing their political and economic Families and oligarchs to acquire sufficient Transcendent Power so they could continue dominating this country!
This was exactly the fundamental reason why Bai Yang deliberately orchestrated this whole situation upon returning here!
He was going to drag Golden Hair down from his pedestal. He was going to make everyone realize the Price of cooperating with the White House and the American Officials. Moreover, he wanted to give every individual who supposedly had no ties to Transcendence the chance to truly grasp a Transcendent future!
They might have been on the verge of succeeding. Certain Transcendent rituals and pieces of information had all been locked down by them, and they had embarked on their own Transcendent journeys.
The intervention of this Transcendent information actually could manage to borrow power from the divine fire Bai Yang was involved with, as well as from several different Transcendent essences.
What a pity they never realized that Bai Yang was physically present in this very world, observing their every move just like this, and making his own adjustments.
Alvin had completely comprehended the situation and immediately said, "Crown, the Transcendent world has only just begun, yet people are already trying to seize the authority of Transcendence!"
This subconscious scramble for power and profit was practically the instinct of Political Animals; it was perfectly understandable when one thought about it.
Bai Yang could even guess that this group of people, who were so used to pulling the strings from the shadows, had habitually deduced that there was a mastermind behind all these events as well.
However, he had no intention of playing chess with these people. It was utterly meaningless. Instead, he shattered their board directly with a single move: the descent of Demons.
"The Era of the Extraordinary is not for you Pawns to control!" Bai Yang whispered.
"The Core, you will orchestrate this incident!" Bai Yang issued his command. "You will judge whether or not to grant power to everyone who prays to a Demon. Do not judge based on Good and Evil, but evaluate them based on the magnitude of their desires and Wish Power!"
"Yes, Master!" The Core's figure slowly materialized, then gradually faded away.
"Alvin, you will control the extent of this malice and determine whether we should provide The Church with some assistance!" Bai Yang declared. "Since this pack of plutocrats and Politicians in America wish to monopolize Transcendent Power for themselves, suffering the backlash of Transcendence is practically inevitable!"
"Teach them a sufficient lesson. Let them understand that holding a high position does not truly guarantee them peace of mind! If necessary, I permit you to purge half of the High-level Officials in this country!"
"By your will, Crown!" Alvin bowed his head, and his silhouette instantly vanished.
Meanwhile, Bai Yang himself slowly walked out of the area.
He was currently in Luo City. He had single-handedly fabricated the crisis in this city, and Jose, who had supposedly been rescued by a Demon, was naturally right in front of him.
It was just that because his level of control over this world was far too deep, no one had noticed that the previous Jose had never actually left and was still standing right there.
Right at the entrance of the courthouse, as the young man falsely accused of disrespecting "Charlie" walked out supported by his mother, Bai Yang also allowed Jose to wake up.
Of course, he was not in his original form. What Jose saw was not a scene from reality, but the landscape of Hell!
However, what Bai Yang utilized this time was not the grand technique of dream manipulation, but rather a special world he had directly sculpted, one entirely reliant on the Underworld—Hell!
"Since we have returned to America, Hell naturally needs to be shaped! Otherwise, where would those vengeful spirits and Deceased People go?"
Bai Yang remarked with a smiling expression. Even amid this struggle for power, the progression of Transcendence in this world still had to move forward!
