Chapter 317: The Power of the Demon God
Chapter 317: The Power of the Demon God
"Crown, an unexpected harvest!" Alvin's surprised and delighted voice rang in Bai Yang's ears. "With the rise of this debate, the previously dormant Wish Power has started to trend upward again!"
"As expected!" Bai Yang said with a chuckle. "Wish Power is definitely tied to the amount of discussion. Otherwise, why else would the gods of the Dylan Continent love pulling tricks like Divine Descent? It all shares a common principle!"
Wish Power was fundamentally something on the spiritual plane. It was generated by spiritual fluctuations. Aside from truly devout believers, it was impossible for ordinary people to specifically provide Wish Power to you every single day, right?
Therefore, Bai Yang realized that this was a time when he could not stop stirring up trouble.
The subjective initiative of these people truly saved him a great deal of effort, while simultaneously providing him with even more inspiration for building a Transcendent world!
"If Vampires and Witch Hunters existed during Lincoln's era, shouldn't there be similar remnants from the earlier Mayflower period?" Bai Yang said with a smile. "Perhaps this combat dispute is a good time for such things to appear. Buried beneath this land are several massive empires of the Indigenous Americans!"
"How could the lingering remnants of such massive empires be defeated by a bunch of ordinary people? This might just be the Transcendent path for the people of America!"
Bai Yang had naturally prepared a Transcendent path for these people as well. If the Vampire Hunter Lincoln had already shown up, who was to say he couldn't unleash "Washington of the Cherry-Blossom-Chopping Divine Axe"?
"But Crown, in your design, the essence of these powers also stems from The Church!" Alvin said curiously. "Will they use it?"
"Of course they will. Even if it originates from The Church, it is still their own power, which is far better than other malignant forces!" Bai Yang said casually. "These people are truly careless. They always think they can just use someone else's power, but they never consider what the Price will be."He was referring to the "Solomon Cult." This was originally a sect of Demon Gods, so how could it be any true "source of power"?
These Demon Gods were not like Angels. They needed to rely on negative Wish Power and even Souls to survive. Those who tried to scheme with a tiger should be prepared to be devoured by it!
"A disaster of one's own making should be resolved by oneself. If someone else has to step in to save them, they should be the ones bearing the Price!" Bai Yang said profoundly.
Compared to the American Government, he naturally preferred The Church a little more. After all, under the guidance of the Bible, these Bishops and Priests were all highly moral existences.
Unlike the officials of this country, who still reeked of filth and corruption even as another pack of Werewolves prowled around committing Slaughter!
"What difference is there between the malice harboring in these officials and those people in India?" Bai Yang said offhandedly.
If these officials were judged by the standard of justice and every other High-level Official in this country was pulled out to be shot, ninety percent of the guilty would still slip through the net. It was just that exaggerated.
Their deeds could not even be described as being Too Numerous to Record, because that idiom at least pertained to the actions of humans.
'These people need a method of disposal that fits their status!' Bai Yang thought silently.
...
"The higher-ups flap their lips, and the subordinates run their legs off!"
New York, at the headquarters of the Special Affairs Processing Bureau. Gao slumped exhaustedly in his chair, not wanting to move a single muscle.
Working under Austin, who was a high official for the entire Special Affairs Processing Bureau, Gao was the true hands-on worker of this department, and naturally had an endless mountain of tasks to complete.
Especially recently, with Golden Hair and Cardinal Angus engaging in a war of public opinion, it kept people like them so busy they were losing their balance.
However, very soon, Austin's arrival caused Gao to sit bolt upright and salute him. "Boss! You're here?"
"Alright, there is no need for such formalities between us. Tell me about the latest situation you have learned!" Austin waved his hand, massaging his temples in a somewhat pained manner. There were so many things going on that he simply felt his brain was not enough to process it all.
He was simply too busy lately. Qian Si did not handle practical matters, Baron was a pampered young master, Chris exclusively managed the Vampire issues, and Jose was the Transcendent initiator. Thus, he was the sole beast of burden left, being worked to death day in and day out.
Gao had no choice but to nod. "The latest news is that Cardinal Angus Bennett has decided to head to Washington D.C. for a face-to-face meeting with the Great Leader. Meanwhile, the affairs in Luo City will be uniformly managed by Nikki Dio, who has arrived from the Vatican!"
"Nikki Dio? That Cardinal who appeared in Italy! The Cardinal who was possessed by an Angel!" Austin immediately connected the dots. "The Vatican is truly generous. Does that mean Pope Mario is the only one left in the entirety of Europe?"
"Boss, he is the Pope. As long as he stands there, no one would dare touch him!" Gao said. Even if Mario had absolutely nothing else, he was still the Pope. He represented the prestige of the entire Catholic Church, representing the face of The Lord. Would anyone really dare to lay a hand on him?
Even if he did not have a single person by his side, no one would make a move. Whether they could win or not was another matter entirely. Simply daring to attack would be a massive provocation to the entire system of The Church, and even to the Angels standing behind them!
"True!" Austin nodded, feeling that Gao had a point. "That is truly troublesome. One Cardinal leaves, and another Cardinal arrives. Even without an Angelic Descent, we still might not be his match!"
They had naturally heard about The Church's Combat Power. The most crucial aspect was their ability to summon Angels!
This kind of power was simply a bit too unreasonable.
"Since Angus is coming to chat with His Excellency the Great Leader, it means The Church is also not prepared to blow things out of proportion!" Right at this moment, the door beside Austin was pushed open. Qian Si walked in Nonchalantly with two others in tow and stated directly, "This is a showdown that everyone is well aware of. What is being decided is who will hold the authority to handle these matters moving forward!"
As the Deputy Leader, his understanding of such political incidents was naturally profound, leading to a completely new perspective. "Therefore, The Church will not make this matter public knowledge and stir up a massive media frenzy. Because of this, the showdown will actually be handled with much more caution!"
"Hence, His Excellency the Great Leader's order is that we must win this showdown. This Transcendent showdown!"
Saying this, he nodded at Baron beside him. "Baron, tell us about the situation with our Transcendent warriors!"
"Alright!" Baron nodded. "The Transcendent warriors we can currently mobilize amount to two companies. They are all Dragon-Blood Warriors cultivated through that Ring obtained from the Nordic region. Every single one of them possesses the strength to fight Werewolves and Vampires head-on!"
This level of power was already incredibly exaggerated. After all, over in Illinois, Tanks and Armored Vehicles had been deployed just to combat the Werewolves, and only large-caliber Bullets were effective.
Possessing such immense physical strength meant they could easily run rampant through the human world.
Austin nodded and looked at the other person. "What does Archbishop Jose say?"
Jose smiled faintly. "Mr. Great Leader stated that we must win this showdown at all costs, so of course I had to come! If you prove to be no match, I will step in!"
"However, I also need to make it clear that the power of the Solomon Cult might cross certain lines. If The Church counterattacks with all their might, I will be exposed!" Jose said, his brows furrowing. "When that time comes, I will need you to run interference and support me!"
The words spoken by this Archbishop were rather measured. He maintained a low posture, primarily aiming to secure the backing of America.
After all, to put it bluntly, the Solomon Cult was merely backed by a few of the seventy-two Pillar Demons. Even if all the Pillar Demons or even King Solomon himself appeared, what could they do? Raziel was still around!
As long as that Archangel descended to the mortal realm, all the Pillar Demons would be nothing more than Lambs waiting to be slaughtered. That single Archangel could seal thousands of Demon Gods all by himself. This was exactly what Jose feared.
"Please rest assured, there is no Solomon Cult here, only some Transcendent power that we have managed to acquire!" Qian Si said, taking full responsibility. "I simply refuse to believe that The Church is truly so Dominant that they would forbid us from possessing even a sliver of alternative power."
"If that were the case, the Indigenous Americans in The South should no longer exist!"
They had a very thorough grasp of The Church's recent mindset. After all, The Church's retracting attitude was plain to see. They did not clash with the Original Inhabitants' Divine Pantheon in The South, nor did they move against the Norse Pantheon. In their recent friction with the Buddhists, they even actively made concessions.
Every action proved that the current Church was not the Dominant powerhouse of the Middle Ages, but rather a group of ordinary people who had just acquired Transcendent power and were still adapting to it.
Their domestic analysts all believed that even if these people encountered a Demon God, they would likely avoid getting angry and would instead choose to retreat in the face of the White House.
Hearing Qian Si's words, the group nodded in agreement, feeling that his logic was sound.
"Since that is the case, then we can indeed afford to lock horns with The Church for a bit!"
Smiles crept onto everyone's faces. The advantage lay with them!
