Chapter 220: A New Land of Faith
Chapter 220: A New Land of Faith
Hearing Alvin's words, a faint light seemed to flash in Bai Yang's eyes. He casually asked, "So, what is the ratio of Wish Power? Is there any difference compared to the Wish Power in the Real World?"
"There is, Crown, and the difference is not small!" Alvin hastily replied. "The quantity is the same, but there is a vast gap in quality. It gives off the illusion of reality intertwining with the virtual!"
"Reality intertwining with the virtual?" Bai Yang paused. "What do you mean?"
"It means that the Wish Power here is indeed Wish Power, but it should more accurately be called virtual Wish Power. It can be converted into God Power through the Godhead, but the consumption is much greater!" Alvin explained. "The conversion ratio of normal Wish Power to God Power is 1,000 to 1, while the ratio for virtual Wish Power is 5,000 to 1. That is a fivefold difference!"
"That is acceptable. After all, this is a virtual world filled with illusory figures. Aside from these souls, everything else is virtual!" Bai Yang nodded.
He knew better than anyone that creating something so unorthodox would inevitably lead to some loss in the resulting Wish Power.
But thinking about it from another perspective, people who were supposed to be dead could take on new identities and continue providing him with Wish Power. Was this not a unique way to increase his revenue?
This virtual world had only been infused with a few hundred thousand souls—naturally, a virtual world could not exclusively use real souls—yet it had already managed to cultivate such a grand scene. And he had no shortage of such souls in his grasp.
As he continued to advance his plans in the Real World, various mythological stories, prehistoric creatures, and ancient gods would emerge. The world's consciousness would continue to send those specially connected souls into the Underworld. The number of such souls was bound to grow larger and larger!
Bai Yang composed himself and nodded, reaffirming the correctness of this path.Using Christian mythology as a foundation, he could shape virtual worlds centered around the Middle Ages, the Crusades, the descent of Jesus, and more. These could be used to cultivate and harvest Wish Power, a process that could be repeated endlessly.
If designed well, various special stories revolving around the Catholic Church's mythology—such as missionary work, Exorcism, tales of gods and ghosts, or Van Helsing's angelic lore—could all become worlds he could construct in the future. There was immense potential here!
And that was just one mythology. If he factored in American mythology, Norse Mythology, and the existing pantheons he had yet to touch—Celtic, Egypt, Greek, Middle Eastern, South Asian, Buddhism, Japan, and more—could he not continuously reap the rewards over and over again?
As long as he made a series of special arrangements in the Real World and guided the shifts in the global landscape to make people believe in the supernatural tales of the past, he could force the world's consciousness to separate those historical figures, turning them into souls he could control!
That would represent a massive scale of one hundred and fifty billion souls. Even if he only captured a fifth of them, that would still be a terrifying thirty billion!
Furthermore, who said a virtual world could not be transformed into a Real World? The Power of Lies was fundamentally about refining the false into truth and materializing illusions. If myths could become reality, then worlds certainly could too!
As long as there was enough Wish Power, anything was possible!
Bai Yang's mood brightened considerably. This improvement in harvesting Wish Power gave him even greater motivation to stir up trouble across the globe. It pushed him to continuously expand his reserves of God Power and Wish Power collection zones, using them as the foundation to further enlarge the territory of his Ten-thousand Worlds.
Just then, Alvin's voice chimed in again. "Crown, this Wish Power has a miraculous property. If it is not converted into God Power but remains purely as Wish Power, it can actually be utilized in reality!"
"This virtual Wish Power yields even better results when used to shape virtual worlds and virtual realms!"
Hearing this, Bai Yang paused in surprise. With a raise of his hand, the virtual Wish Power gathered in his palm. Staring at this deceptively illusory special power, his eyes lit up.
"Wait! This Wish Power... it inherently possesses virtual properties as well as soul properties. Does that not mean..."
Bai Yang slowly began to grasp the implications. Virtual Wish Power was still Wish Power, meaning it retained its genuine shaping capabilities. And wouldn't Wish Power laced with virtual properties be the absolute perfect medium for creating illusions and soul-based attributes?
Looking at it this way, couldn't certain authorities, deities, or Monsters governing the Dreamscape and Souls be brought to life?
The first entity that sprang to Bai Yang's mind was the Blind Idiot God, Azathoth!
However, that particular Outer God would indeed be rather difficult to cultivate in the modern world. After all, it didn't quite align with Bai Yang's affinity for collecting God Power. But in the future, it could perhaps be manifested as some sort of ultimate adversary...
Therefore, Bai Yang gradually shifted his gaze to another supreme Dream God—the renowned ruler of Hindu mythology, Lord Brahma!
"No, no... What kind of Dream God is Brahma? The entirety of Buddhism practically exists within a dream!" Bai Yang chuckled in amusement. He stored the energy away, discarding any thoughts of converting it into God Power for now.
There was no rush. His current reserves of God Power were still sufficient. This specific energy might have better uses and far more excellent applications down the line!
He looked up, gazing at Rasinger, who had already finished gathering and consolidating this version of "Paris." Wielding the "Great Public Health and Epidemic Prevention Law" and the banner of collectivism as his weapons, Rasinger had begun launching his grand crusade against the Black Death, expanding from Paris out across the entire European Continent. Bai Yang nodded in satisfaction.
"This world will be fine with just him here. Alvin, just keep an eye on him in passing. He will likely spend quite some time fulfilling his ideals in this realm, while we shall move on to a new location!" "Of course, Crown. As you wish!" Alvin smiled and nodded. The two of them then departed from this virtual world, subsequently exiting the Divine Kingdom altogether.
Naturally, this was not the end. Now that the Divine Kingdom had been forged, all the Transcendent Beings and Extraordinary Power Systems across both Europe and the North American continent needed to be linked to it and its divine fire. Only then could they continue to grow in a stable and healthy manner.
Connecting all these systems together would form the true "Christian Divine Pantheon." That was the name Bai Yang had given it, as well as its future development direction.
Now, the faith from both Europe and North America would serve as components of this formidable Divine Pantheon. It would continue to accelerate, rapidly expanding at a pace far surpassing that of the Aesir God pantheon and the Indigenous Americans' divine system!
This time, however, Bai Yang was setting out to find a Divine Pantheon whose growth speed matched, or perhaps even exceeded, theirs!
"Christianity has roughly 1.5 billion Faithful worldwide. But even so, they are fragmented into Judaism, the Catholic Church, Protestantism, Eastern Orthodoxy, and others!" Bai Yang muttered, stroking his chin. "However, in another Realm, there is a religion with a staggering number of believers that comes remarkably close!"
"Not only is their follower count comparable, but their geographical location is far more concentrated!"
Hearing Bai Yang's words, Alvin understood immediately and began adjusting their plans. "The place you wish to visit... is India?"
"Yes. That nation of death and corpses, India!" Bai Yang declared. "Do you remember our final Godhead Shard? I have sensed its location!"
Alvin completely understood now. It turned out that Bai Yang's sudden desire to travel to South Asia was sparked by sensing that final Godhead Shard.
He nodded lightly. "Crown, that region is fundamentally your Promised Land. According to the information we have gathered, the populace there is steeped in ignorance, poverty, and hardship, yet they remain incredibly devout. If we can harvest the faith of that region, both our belief system and our reserves of God Power will see a massive expansion!"
They had not even fully consolidated the Christian system yet, having gathered less than half of that demographic. Even when adding the Indigenous Americans and the Nordic people, their numbers did not amount to half the population of India.
Therefore, he was not wrong. If Bai Yang could conquer the beliefs of that land, his influence would multiply exponentially!
"We will see once we get there. The sheer absurdity of that nation might just exceed your wildest imagination! It may not be so easy to harvest their faith after all!"
Bai Yang remarked casually. He wasn't actually worried about failing to collect Wish Power in that country. Wielding Supernatural might as he did, he wouldn't even need to stage any grand divine manifestations. He simply had to control a couple of Brahmin priests to achieve total dominance and reconstruction of the entire nation.
After all, India was inherently a nation ruled by elites and Brahmins. It was a country governed by sects and religions, to the point where even their esteemed leader acted more like a Charlatan than a true Head of State!
However, Bai Yang's assessment of this country was actually quite fascinating. He had pored over extensive materials regarding Hindu mythology, observing just how ridiculously convoluted their power-scaling and continuous retconning had become in a religion that was still actively updating its lore to this day.
It could even be argued that the Christian faith, which dominated reality across Europe, the Americas, and Oceania, could not hold a candle to Hinduism in a mythological clash of infinitely exaggerated power-scaling. Almost every powerful deity from other pantheons could be found existing as an incarnation or avatar within Hinduism.
"This religion is chaotic and completely devoid of order. Aryan myths, Buddhism, Daoist lore, and even neighboring deities are all absorbed as parts of this mythology... It is an utter mess, but for our purposes, it is the perfect source material to draw from!"
Bai Yang had no intention of pulling any "divine manifestation" stunts in this country. After all, those were old parlor tricks that had already been played to death over there!
He wanted to orchestrate something far more magical and miraculous in this land!
"Let us go. We will locate the shard first, and then seek out individuals worthy of our investment!"
