Chapter 163: Relocating the Overpowered Entity
Chapter 163: Relocating the Overpowered Entity
The news of the king transforming into a "Viking Berserker" brewed into an explosive headline across an otherwise peaceful world.
It drew the eyes of the entire globe back to this previously unremarkable land.
In the past, the only things worth praising about this nation were its North Sea oil fields and the Nobel Prize. But now, it possessed a new power known as Transcendence!
Factions from all over the world converged here. This was especially true for the city of Malmö, where flight tickets had tripled in price and hotel rooms had quintupled, yet demand still far exceeded supply.
This made Luowa incredibly happy. After all, the Wish Power generated in these cities would become his personal harvest, making him wish even more people would flock to the area.
Meanwhile, in distant Stockholm, during the parliamentary session the very next day, King Gustav XVI stood before the parliamentarians clad in a highly ancient suit of Viking armor!
"Viking Armor"
The ancient, weathered armor would have looked like mere rags on anyone else. However, as crimson light flowed across its surface while he wore it, it truly exuded an ancient, brutal Viking aura!
This was also one of the ways to utilize Wish Power. It was fundamentally a power where "belief equals existence." Bolstered by so much Wish Power, what was originally just an antique set of armor now seemed to carry an air of mysticism!
Behind him stood the Royal Guard. Under the charges of "human trafficking and severe dereliction of duty," they arrested more than twenty prominent members of parliament before today's session even officially began!Such near-dictatorial decisiveness should never have occurred in this nation. The king's power had long been restricted, leaving him without a shred of authority, yet it was happening right now!
Because Gustav XVI had finally realized the truth: what limits on power actually existed?
In the end, wasn't it simply because his own strength had been insufficient? If he had been able to firmly control the military back then, he would never have been bullied so ruthlessly by the parliament!
Just like now, he might lack overt political power on paper, but he no longer had nothingness behind him. With the "Āsathrú" acting as his foundation, he had successfully reclaimed command of his Royal Guard.
It was almost laughable that the Royal Guard hadn't even been in the king's hands, yet that had been his previous reality.
During this parliamentary session, the king completely abandoned his former gentle image. He forcefully demanded that the parliament pass his bill, outright changing the national religion from Lutheran Christianity to the "Āsathrú"!
Behind him stood the young and vigorous parliamentarian Eric, along with right-wing members who had changed their tune. They forcibly seized the nation's supreme leadership power and propped up Eric as a newly elevated authority.
Under the king's aggressive coercion, the current government announced its dissolution. In accordance with the Swedish constitution, executive power was transferred to a special committee during the transition period. Gustav XVI appointed himself as the head of this committee while simultaneously naming Eric as its primary director!
The transformation of the entire nation had begun just like that!
Backed by true power, the king completed a flawless transition from a weak figurehead to a strongman politician. His very first order was the thorough liquidation and abolition of all human trafficking networks!
This served as a perfect salvation of public morale, and naturally, it was also his fulfillment of a promise to the Āsathrú. The two sides cooperated with unspoken understanding. One desired Divine Faith and reverence, while the other sought status and power. They complemented each other perfectly.
The greatest benefit, of course, was that the nation's Wish Power began to shift in a new direction. It gradually poured toward the Norse Gods, generating a dazzling belief capable of shaking deities!
It was not even limited to just this country. The other Nordic nations, and even some neighboring Germanic states, began to view these events with a mixture of skepticism and belief!
And the city where Wish Power was most condensed and concentrated was undoubtedly Malmö!
On the seventh day after the Divine Miracle occurred, the entire city of Malmö seemed to have undergone a special transformation.
The Āsathrú's Doctrines, edicts, and various ecclesiastical systems promoting goodness were systematically drafted. Through the collective efforts of city officials and the masses, they were published and distributed throughout the entire city!
The power brought about by this centralization sparked a lightning-fast fervor for learning in a nation previously known for being loose and sluggish!
These Doctrines were naturally not fabricated out of thin air. They were the summaries Freya had compiled after experiencing these events, referencing the words of the gods, combining them with the divine teachings she had previously studied, and praying to the deities!
In short, it was an eye for an eye, blood for blood. The Norse Gods loved War, plunder, duels, and drinking, but they strictly forbade their people from self-mutilation or harming each other.
They believed that everything was governed by fate. Everyone had to act in accordance with their destiny, and anyone who defied fate deserved execution!
Into this mix, Luowa also added some elements he deemed fitting for an "orthodox True God church." Teachings encouraging kindness were included, and those rejecting evil were present—even though he had been classified as an Evil God back on the Dylan Continent, he was now an undeniable True God in this world!
A True God faction naturally required the structure and vision of a True God. Having been labeled an Evil God for so many years, he was finally experiencing a true moment of proud vindication!
"The Saint seems to have encountered something wonderful! You are smiling so happily!" Percival remarked with curiosity as he noticed Luowa's grin. Hearing this, Luowa burst into hearty laughter, "Yes! Yes, indeed! Something truly wonderful has happened!"
He turned to Percival and declared, "I am about to depart. I must go to where I am meant to be, to do what I am meant to do!"
Hearing this, Percival sensed the underlying meaning. He had previously heard Freya mention that when a Saint descended into the mortal world, it was either to execute the will of the gods or to pursue their own ascension.
Freya had even hoped he would build a close relationship with the Saint. That way, when the other party finally decided to Ascend to Godhood, Percival might receive a bit of assistance, potentially allowing him to become a subordinate god or a future Saint himself.
However, Percival had no such ambitions. He firmly maintained that his ultimate destination should be Valhalla.
A Warrior of the Vikings was meant to die in battle at sea or perish fighting amidst the ice and snow, feasting on meat, chugging ale from large bowls, and charging forward for the sake of destiny!
Therefore, he spoke to Luowa with genuine joy, "Congratulations to the Saint on your imminent ascension to the Divine Seat! The next time we meet, we shall address you as Crown!"
Luowa nodded in delight. With a wave of his hand, frost condensed in his grasp, eventually forming an ice-blue stone Battle Axe. He ran his finger along the edge of the blade, smearing a single drop of blood onto it, which transformed the Battle Axe into an exquisite red-and-blue warblade!
"This is my parting gift to you. Perhaps, in the future, you might consider joining my ranks!"
Luowa truly admired Percival. He had clearly seen the man's excellent character and fierce bravery in combat. Moreover, as the husband of the Witch who served as the liaison to the Norse Gods, Percival's future was bound to hold boundless possibilities.
This gift could be considered the forging of a special bond of goodwill!
A wave of excitement washed over Percival as he eagerly accepted the Battle Axe. As a Viking Berserker, the allure of an excellent weapon was naturally unimaginable, leaving him intensely thrilled!
"Thank you for your generous gift, I shall..."
He looked up, but Luowa was nowhere to be seen. Only the statues of the deities in the Church remained, looking incredibly lifelike amidst the lingering condensation of frost!
This Saint truly possessed the demeanor of a deity.
...
By this time, Luowa had already arrived at a location in the extreme north. After ensuring that no one was around, he began to attempt his ritual to Ascend to Godhood, strictly following the knowledge provided by the Norse Gods.
Regardless of whether he succeeded or failed, he would have to stay here for a very long period.
This, naturally, was what Bai Yang had meant by "relocating" Luowa.
Luowa's Combat Power was at the level of a Saint, below that of a God, but the power he displayed was still more than enough to topple cities and Destroy a Nation. This made him a limit-breaking existence across all of Europe. If he were to set up a permanent base here in Sweden, not even The Church would dare send forces carelessly.
After all, standard practice was to summon reinforcements only when losing a fight. The Descent of the Saint was only meant to last for a limited period. For him to take up permanent residence in the mortal realm... what faction could possibly handle that kind of pressure?
Therefore, Luowa could not be allowed to act freely. At the very least, his interventions had to be heavily restricted so that the various Transcendent factions could remain on a relatively even playing field. This was also a method of maintaining balance.
Because of this, the method of ascending to godhood in Luowa's mind had long since deviated from the simple trinity of Wish Power, Divine Faith, and God Power used on the Dylan Continent. Instead, it had shifted to the guidance provided by the Pantheon: first ignite the divine fire, and then sail alongside its flames!
Yes, Bai Yang had rewritten the method for achieving godhood. He had gained this ability after igniting his divine fire and manifesting the Divine Status of the deity known as "The Lord".
By standing above the gods, he could redefine the origin of their existence. He had discovered that the concept of "Godhood" carried the deep, chilling malice of the God Above God from the Dylan Continent.
Godhood was a conduit, but it was also a cage. It offered them the hope of becoming gods, yet simultaneously locked away any path for their future development.
Bai Yang chose to discard Godhood entirely. He changed the anchoring method of the Norse Gods from Godhood to a "Realm"!
Indeed, it was the tiny realm that had appeared just outside of Earth after he deceived the world. That was the true divine realm of the Norse Gods, the location of the Pantheon. Or, to put it in more exaggerated terms, it could be called the seedling of Yggdrasil!
Observing Luowa's wildly beating heart and trembling hands, Bai Yang stood off to the side, thoroughly satisfied. 'I truly am a genius for coming up with a method like this!'
Showcasing the uniqueness of the Aesir, solving the problem of Godhood, and restricting Luowa himself—killing three birds with one stone!
