From God of Lies to Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 10: Fermentation

Chapter 10: Fermentation

Five hours later, at the Vespucci Town church.

Over a dozen cars were parked directly by the roadside, crushing the town's lawn, yet no one raised any objections.

Because inside the church sat a group of people who could make the entire state of California tremble.

The FBI branch director of Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Police Chief, the Mayor of Los Angeles, the Mayor of San Diego, the San Diego Police Chief, the Lieutenant Governor of California... All these individuals who would never normally appear in a small town had all come!

If the incident hadn't been so sudden, even the Governor who was currently abroad might have flown back.

Such a lineup made Sheriff Franz and Agent Gao, who were presiding over this meeting, appear extremely nervous.

However, Father Angus remained completely unperturbed, quite different from everyone else.

Before him lay a feather that had dimmed considerably, yet the eerie glow it emitted remained strikingly noticeable.

Just moments ago, Angus had completed the containment of Martin using the cross in his hand, and the feather had returned to his possession.

"Hah..." Franz took a deep breath and began explaining, "The night before last, all residents in the town center had nightmares..."After recounting the events of the past two days, he concluded, "And the feather that caused Martin's mutation is that very one before Father Angus - the black feather of the demon Raum!"

Everyone turned their gaze toward the feather that was as long as Father Angus's arm, their expressions varying greatly.

Before them, a raised projector displayed footage from the body cameras of Agents Gao and Austin.

The recording clearly showed what kind of power Martin Delasso, who now lay unconscious in the town hospital, had unleashed.

"We emptied two magazines but couldn't penetrate those feathers," Gao said, "Yet the feathers he shot shattered large portions of the rock we were hiding behind!"

He brought up photos of the rock fragments taken afterward, the cracks and broken pieces astonishing to behold.

This scene made the numerous dignitaries who had just arrived feel their hearts racing and stomachs churning.

It shifted their worldview, and their gazes inevitably turned toward the middle-aged priest nearby.

Angus still wore his black robes, maintaining his completely unruffled demeanor.

"Reverend Father Angus..." Finally, the lowest-ranking official present, the San Diego Police Chief, spoke up, "What is your opinion?"

If there were no supernatural beings present, they probably would have started dividing up the feather by now.

But currently, the only supernatural individual present was Father Angus before them.

He was the one who had subdued Martin Delasso, and the true owner of this feather. They might disregard an ordinary identity, but they couldn't ignore a genuine Chosen One!

If the priest was real, then what about the Church that spanned the entire world? Was that real too?

They had to consider this possibility. With one move affecting the entire situation, no one would act rashly.

"This is the feather of a heretical demon god and should be handed over to the Church for custody!" Angus maintained his stance, "But due to its dangerous nature, I will temporarily safeguard it until the Bishop or Archbishop arrives with official Church notification!"

With these words, everyone knew their desire to access the "supernatural" was temporarily out of reach.

But with Angus's presence, they didn't appear particularly anxious.

The Lieutenant Governor thought for a moment and nodded, "Notify the Cardinal in Los Angeles. He'll know what to do!"

The discussion about the feather ended there.

What they were more concerned about was actually Father Angus himself.

Compared to supernatural items, supernatural humans were far more worthy of attention!

And Angus's identity carried an additional layer - he was a devout believer, the priest of Vespucci Town, someone who had seen angels and even had clear connections with the archangel named Raziel!

In their records, the last person similar to this was called "Moses," who became a prophet.

Therefore, everyone treated him with great respect. No one knew if Father Angus might one day become something like a prophet or saint.

Moreover, everyone present secretly reflected that from now on, they must show obedience and devotion to the Church - even if only superficially.

Although they didn't know where this supernatural power came from, their heightened positions had given them keen senses that detected the world's changes.

They had lived in this world for so many years yet had never heard any information about such things. Now that this had appeared before them, wasn't it a kind of revelation?

"Father Angus, were you trained by the Church?" Finally, the Mayor of San Diego couldn't resist asking.

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone visibly turned their attention toward them.

Angus wasn't an evil man; he was a genuine believer, so he slowly shook his head, "The Church taught me faith and to learn the Lord's words and deeds, and to teach people to do good, but the Church did not teach me how to combat evil spirits!"

"I suppose it might be because evil spirits appeared in our town that the Lord bestowed His blessings?"

Hearing this, everyone exchanged glances as if they had discovered something!

The light called "ambition" in their eyes was becoming increasingly difficult to suppress!

...

On the car traveling from Vespucci Town to San Diego City, new developments suddenly emerged.

"Your Grace! You were right!" Alvin's voice appeared in Bai Yang's ear.

"Oh? How so?" Bai Yang asked.

"Our Wish Force is increasing dramatically, almost directly rising by ten thousand points, and these ten thousand points all came from just a few individuals!" Alvin said.

"This can only mean these people control a significant portion of the world's narrative power! On the Dylan Continent, typically only lords, nobles, or kings would possess this ability!"

"If they believe, they will guide more people to believe, which is why we're receiving so much Wish Force!"

Bai Yang nodded slightly, "So in our world, that would be high officials, capitalists, and leaders of major organizations!"

"The feather you left behind and that man named Angus - that was intentional, right?" Alvin asked again.

"Yes, these people are certainly clever. Clever people are often blind, but once they determine something, they will definitely believe it!" Bai Yang lightly tapped his fingers, gazing at the wilderness outside the window.

Even in San Diego, the eighth largest city in the United States, the suburbs still appeared desolate and disorderly - problems stemming from this country's issues.

It was precisely because of this that he had suffered such a great setback when he first arrived in this city!

That gang called "Gray Wolf" had left a wound on the back of his hand that had only just scabbed over.

Alvin followed his gaze, looking at everything before them, and said with a smile, "Now we possess three points of Divine Power and 6,000 points of Wish Force! Your Grace, let's make them pay!"

Bai Yang continued tapping the window, his expression indifferent, "Revenge is just a side benefit. What we need most is for fear and crisis to become the breeding ground for Wish Force expansion!"

"All plans must focus on obtaining more Wish Force. I have no intention of wasting this Divine Power!"

"Now you can tell me, what exactly is that residual power of lies?"
