Chapter 501 - 515: Giving You a Chance
Looking at everything he had meticulously arranged, An Ran suddenly didn’t want to spoil the atmosphere; at least, she didn’t want to dampen his spirits. With this thought in mind, An Ran walked over and sat down opposite Mu Xingfeng.
Glancing at the couples’ set menu on the table, An Ran sneaked a peek at Mu Xingfeng.
This man, really.
She remembered that the last time they had western food together, he wasn’t this particular—couples’ set menu, a candlelight dinner, and the table adorned with bright red roses.
Is it really to suit today’s atmosphere? An Ran was a bit skeptical.
She still remembered Mu Xingfeng’s frosty glare when he saw her with Lu Yi at the restaurant earlier that day, especially when he seemed ready to stare a hole into the couples’ set menu.
Mu Xingfeng poured a glass of wine and placed it in front of An Ran.
Looking at the glass, An Ran swallowed hard, "Instructor Mu, do we have to drink?"
"Of course. In this atmosphere, shouldn’t we have a little? As I recall, you can handle it." He remembered very well the two times this girl had gotten drunk at the bar.
But now, he would take care not to get her drunk, just to give her a little buzz.
"My tolerance isn’t great. I’m afraid I’ll do something shocking if I drink too much." An Ran puckered her lips, looking as if to say, ’I’ve warned you.’
"Don’t worry, the worst that can happen is you taking advantage of me, but if you do, I’ll take responsibility," Mu Xingfeng said matter-of-factly while pouring himself a glass.
An Ran almost slipped under the table, was this still Instructor Mu? She seriously doubted whether the man in front of her was a fake Mu Xingfeng. This guy, spouting shameless words so effortlessly.
Seeing An Ran stare at him with those enchanting, wide-open eyes, Mu Xingfeng pretended to be shocked too, "Wifey, you don’t really want to take advantage of me, do you?"
An Ran banged her head on the table, whining, "Instructor Mu, please spare me, I can’t handle your big moves."
Mu Xingfeng curled the corner of his lips, extending his hand across the table to gently stroke her small hand.
"Wifey, we’re legally married. We got our license because of Grandpa, but do you think I, Mu Xingfeng, married you just because of his illness? Since I married you, I will never let go easily. I prepared all this today just to tell you to accept me, don’t torture me anymore, and stop deceiving yourself."
An Ran raised her head, her enchanting eyes moist, looking at Mu Xingfeng, and after a moment, her eyes turned slightly red.
"Instructor Mu, I..."
"Silly girl, didn’t you say you fell in love with me? Today I’m giving you a chance to take advantage of me." Mu Xingfeng interrupted An Ran, raising his glass of red wine.
An Ran burst out laughing, raised her glass and clinked it with Mu Xingfeng’s, then took a big gulp and finished all the red wine in her glass.
Mu Xingfeng didn’t stop her, and similarly, finished his wine in one go.
He could tell the girl was about to cry. He said those words just to express his feelings, not to demand any promise from her. Her earlier words, "I think I’ve fallen in love with you," were already enough for him. Thɪs chapter is updated by ????????????????????⟡????????????????⟡????????????
The next steps would be up to him. Tonight should be sweet; he couldn’t let the girl cry, not even tears of joy.
In An Ran’s heart, there was always a knot. He didn’t know if that knot was related to him, but if there was any discomfort in her heart, he would share it with her.
