Chapter 1053 - 1066: Could It Be a Guilty Conscience?

After a night of rain, the air felt a bit fresher. Bright sunshine pierced through the heavy curtains, announcing a beautiful day.Xiao Xiao opened her eyes, spaced out for three seconds, and then realized she was at An Ran’s place in Longteng Xinyuan.

She got up, washed up, and changed clothes, only to find she was alone in the apartment.

She knew Lin Junyang and Mu Xingfeng had a habit of morning runs, so she thought Lin Junyang had gone jogging and didn’t think much of it. Seeing only two packs of instant noodles in the fridge, she sighed and picked up her phone to call Lin Junyang, asking him to bring some breakfast back.

But the phone rang until the end without being answered, so she sent a text message instead, then switched to the game interface to play.

Meanwhile, Lin Junyang was already on the highway back to the Guard Team, watching his phone screen flash with familiar music. Until the tune ended, he still didn’t have the courage to pick it up.

He wasn’t sure what he was afraid of—was it guilty conscience?

Thinking of the contact that couldn’t quite be called a kiss from the night before, he subconsciously raised his hand to touch his lips lightly.

Just then, the ringtone for new messages sounded again.

Picking up the phone, he saw a text from Xiao Xiao: Remember to buy breakfast when you come back. I want tea eggs and lean pork porridge.

"What an idiot," Lin Junyang muttered under his breath.

How dumb could a woman be, sleeping like a log, blissfully unaware when someone takes advantage of her.

Lin Junyang didn’t feel there was anything wrong about entering someone else’s room after they fell asleep; he only worried that if such a naive woman encountered a man with bad intentions, she might suffer greatly.

Seeing the time approaching eight o’clock, Lin Junyang picked up the phone again and sent a voice message saying there was an issue at the Guard Team and he had returned there first.

Upon hearing Lin Junyang’s voice message, Xiao Xiao was hopping mad.

This guy, like he’s throwing her aside after using her. Just taught him how to dance and now he’s left her alone. And it’s the holiday season—it’s not like she has anything to do alone in Nan’an.

Even if there’s something going on at the Guard Team, he could have taken her along; at least An Ran is still at the Guard Team.

Thankfully, just after breakfast, An Ran called her.

An Ran was bored at the Guard Team and asked Jiang Zhuo to drive her into the city to find Xiao Xiao, and they planned to shop for performance costumes together.

The group was going to perform jazz dance, so the costume requirements weren’t particularly strict—just casual wear that allowed for easy movement.

Nan’an University is right in the city center, being a key university in C Province, surrounded by well-developed facilities with several shopping malls nearby. Of course, residential areas like Longteng Xinyuan rely on this and have become upscale neighborhoods in Nan’an City.

After yesterday’s rain, today felt even more sweltering, so An Ran asked Jiang Zhuo to act as their driver, taking them to a well-known large shopping mall.

"Xiao Xiao, what’s going on between you and Brother Yang?"

Once they entered the mall, An Ran asked.

"What could be going on between us?" Xiao Xiao was caught off guard by the question.

They got along quite well yesterday, right? She taught Lin Junyang how to dance, and even though he dragged her to dance several more songs, wore her out, she was quite pleased at the end with that French meal. As for letting him sleep on the sofa after returning to Longteng Xinyuan, they had discussed it.

"I don’t know, but anyway, Brother Yang seemed weird this morning," An Ran recalled seeing Lin Junyang earlier today.
