Chapter 1018 - 1031: At Least Not Completely Stupid

"Alright, alright, if you can walk out of the police station safe this time, I’ll accompany you back to the unit for a show, OK?"Xiao Xiao watched as Lin Junyang’s face grew darker and quickly compromised. She knew this man not only had a bad temper but was also very petty. Who knew what would happen if he got angry?

With Xiao Xiao’s response, Lin Junyang could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He had no doubt that if things continued like this, he could be angered to death by this silly woman.

Xu Changming observed the two people murmuring across the table, the man growing more furious, and felt even better.

Sure enough, that man was just all talk. Upon hearing that he knew the director, he began to complain about the woman causing trouble outside.

In no time, the door of the detention room opened again. A police officer came in, pointing at Lin Junyang and Xiao Xiao, "You can come out now."

Lin Junyang stood up, hands in pockets, striding with his long legs with the demeanor of being at home.

Xiao Xiao uncertainly looked at the officer, then at the man opposite. Seeing Xu Changming’s baffled expression, she confirmed she hadn’t misheard and followed Lin Junyang, nervously clutching his clothing with a tiny hand.

Lin Junyang glanced at the slender little hand clutching his clothing under his arm, his lip twitching slightly. What a silly woman, only good with words.

He raised his hand and clasped that little hand, tightening his grip slightly in his palm.

Held by the man’s large hand, the dry and scorching warmth coming from his fingertips made Xiao Xiao feel unusually secure.

Watching Lin Junyang and Xiao Xiao walk out of the detention room hand in hand as if they were on a stroll, Xu Changming finally reacted.

"Officer, aren’t you mistaken? You should be letting us out," he said confidently, knowing that if Director Jing knew he was detained here, he’d surely be released first, at least allowed to seek medical attention.

The officer glanced back at him, "How could it be mistaken? You caused trouble at the hospital, disrupting order. The hospital has witnesses to confirm this. Moreover, you assaulted someone, and the other party was acting in self-defense. Your attitude here is still uncooperative, so wait here for processing."

After the officer finished speaking, he slammed the door shut.

"Impossible, they’re giving false testimony. I demand to go, I demand a lawyer, I want to see your Director Jing," Xu Changming banged on the iron door and shouted outside.

Xiao Xiao looked at Lin Junyang suspiciously.

Had someone at the hospital testified? She was sure the witnesses the officer mentioned weren’t her mother’s colleagues; if that were the case, they wouldn’t need to scrounge for money in private.

"Was it you?"

Lin Junyang smirked, "At least you’re not entirely clueless."

He indeed made arrangements with the hospital. From what he knew, the hospital’s director and Jing Xiangyang were classmates. Still, concerning Xiao Xiao, why would he ask Jing Xiangyang for help?

So he asked Mu Xingfeng to approach Tang Huacheng, though involving an intermediary caused some delay.

"So can we go home now?" Xiao Xiao didn’t expect the matter to be resolved so easily, her voice tinged with excitement.

"You’re dreaming, wait a bit, we’ll head home soon." Hearing the girl’s voice put Lin Junyang in a good mood as well.

Lin Junyang, along with Xiao Xiao, followed the officer to the director’s office.

Even after stepping out of the police station, Xiao Xiao still found it all so unreal.
