Chapter 609: Turmoil (5)

After a dozen minutes or so, Qiao Mo finally finished her cuddle with Fu Nancheng. When she returned to the bedroom, she twisted the doorknob a few times, but the door seemed to be locked and wouldn’t open.

Qiao Mo didn’t think much of it and knocked: "Qianxun... I forgot to take the key... could you open the door for me?"

Soon, the door was opened by someone.

Qiao Mo said with some embarrassment: "The door was clearly open when I left. I don’t know how it got locked. Sorry to trouble you."

Yu Qianxun chuckled softly and closed the door again: "It must have been the wind. You were busy on the phone and didn’t notice."

"How are your design drafts coming along? Have you finalized them?" Qiao Mo stretched and asked.

These past few days, she’s been hunched over the computer and drawing paper, her neck and body aching all over, but the deadline is really tight, leaving no option but to push through.

Moreover, since arriving in a foreign country, Qiao Mo hasn’t adapted to the food or sleep schedule, and in just a few days, she lost another round of weight.

The weight she gained during pregnancy has all disappeared again.

Yu Qianxun stood at the desk organizing her drafts: "Yes, I’m all set. I’ve just submitted them to the person in charge, and I’m planning to head to the mall to pick out some fabrics."

"I’m so envious of you... you finally get to go out and breathe!" Qiao Mo remarked with a hint of lamentation and then quickly sat back at her computer desk.

Her design drafts are not completely settled yet, but most of it is done, with only some details left unfinished.

Seeing that everyone else had already submitted their drafts and moved on to the next step, she felt a bit anxious, even thinking that she might not need to be so meticulous. However, her slight obsession with perfection made her feel any unaddressed detail would create flaws in her entire work.

Therefore, after thinking it over, Qiao Mo decided to calm down and strive to make the design drafts perfect. This way, she wouldn’t have to repeatedly modify them or feel dissatisfied and uneasy later.

Because of the tight timelines, Yu Qianxun didn’t say much, holding her drafts as she looked at Qiao Mo: "Xiao Mo... I’ll get going then. I’m heading to the mall to choose some materials before starting work."

Qiao Mo didn’t lift her head and just responded: "Alright..."

"You should hurry, too. If you delay any longer, it will really be too late."

"Got it..."

After Yu Qianxun left, the room fell into deep silence.

Qiao Mo quickly got into the zone, and before she knew it, the next evening had arrived.

Qiao Mo watched the sunset as she finally sent her finalized design drafts to the competition organizer, a renowned fashion design master.

Seeing the message that it was sent successfully, Qiao Mo finally breathed a sigh of relief. She reckoned that among so many people, she was probably the last to submit her drafts.

Not daring to waste any more time, Qiao Mo grabbed her bag and hurriedly ran to the designated mall, worried that all the good fabrics had already been picked out.

According to the competition rules, everyone could only use the same budget to select fabrics here after submitting their design drafts. So arriving late basically meant that most of the good stuff had been picked clean.

However, some of the exceptionally good fabrics were still left; after all, everyone’s budget was limited, so even if someone bought the costly and luxurious fabrics, they couldn’t buy too much.

When Qiao Mo arrived at the mall, it was brightly lit, forming a stark contrast to the night outside.

The entire mall was divided into two sections. On the left side, the fabrics were neatly displayed in bundles and rows on the wall, each a vibrant and orderly display, all arranged by color, although about a third of the racks were already empty.
