Chapter 505: Reap What You Sow (3)
Three days later, Qiao Mo was working at the company.Suddenly, the phone rang, and when she glanced at it, it was Fu Nancheng.
"Hello?"
"Come to my office."
"You’re back?"
"Yeah."
After the call ended, Qiao Mo hesitated for a moment, picked up some documents to feign work, and quietly took the elevator to find him.
’Knock knock’ she knocked on the door.
A few seconds later, the door was opened from the inside, and Qiao Mo’s arm was grabbed, pulling her directly inside.
The documents in her hands fell to the ground, but the door was already shut.
Fu Nancheng gently wrapped his arms around her waist, buried his head in her neck, and whispered, "Did you miss me?"
Although he had only been away for three days, he couldn’t stop worrying. It was the first time he tasted the feeling of longing.
It seemed that only the faint fragrance on her body could calm his heart.
Qiao Mo’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she gently embraced his waist: "Yeah, I did."
He lifted his head and kissed her lips, entangled for a good while before stopping.
"On that call, you said Chuchu’s mother came to see you." Fu Nancheng got up and walked towards the desk, pulling her to sit on his lap.
"Yeah. She just advised me to leave you, gave me a check to fill in any amount."
Qiao Mo replied, but her mind was on the other things Mrs. Chen had said.
She seemed to know something about the woman Fu Nancheng had been looking for...
Should she tell him?
"Fu Nancheng..."
"Hmm?" He held her in his arms, flipping through the documents in front of him.
Qiao Mo lowered her head, gently tugging at the buttons on her clothes, and softly said, "She seems to know about Yun’er."
He was slightly stunned, seemingly not expecting her to mention that name.
The room suddenly turned silent, and Qiao Mo did not speak further. But after saying it, she still felt a bit sad; no matter what, he probably still cared about Yun’er.
He lightly kissed her earlobe: "Later, I’ll investigate Mrs. Chen, send someone to look into it."
Qiao Mo nodded, saying nothing.
He then continued looking through the documents and didn’t pursue the previous topic further.
She leaned against him, her lips slightly pouting, uncontrollably starting to overthink.
After half an hour passed, Qiao Mo finally couldn’t help but speak up: "Fu Nancheng..."
"Hmm?"
"You... if you find her, will you stop wanting me?"
Qiao Mo’s voice was muffled, she was a bit uneasy.
It felt as if none of this was meant to be hers, the resentment carried wasn’t hers, and thus the love that followed wasn’t hers either.
Even though he had clearly said he loved her.
But she still couldn’t help overthinking, wondering if she was just a substitute.
Fu Nancheng paused slightly, put down the documents in his hands, gently lifted her chin, but saw her eyes already reddened, and his heart couldn’t help but ache.
"Xiao Mo."
"Hmm." Qiao Mo pouted, looking at him, waiting for him to continue.
"She indeed used to be an obsession in my heart, because of what happened seven years ago, I hated her, and because of youthful ignorance, I thought I loved her. But now... there is no longer room in my heart for anyone but you."
He took her small hand and placed it on his chest.
Qiao Mo looked at him, dazed, clearly feeling the strong heartbeat under her palm.
His gaze softened a bit, looking at her with affection: "Did you hear that? It’s beating for you."
"It’s not for me, if it stopped beating, you’d die."
"But without you, it would indeed die."
