Chapter 417: Am I Spoiling You Too Much (2)
"Jing Hao?" Qiao Mo was taken aback for a moment, not expecting it to involve Jiang Jinghao."Yes. He seems quite urgent."
"Do you know what it is about?"
"He didn’t say specifically, just mentioned he has something he wants your help with, but isn’t sure if you’ll agree."
Qiao Mo didn’t hesitate any longer and agreed.
She understood Jiang Jinghao; he hadn’t disturbed her for so long, and now reaching out to her, he must truly need her help.
Moreover, he treated her so well and she owed him so much. If she could help, how could she possibly refuse?
"Alright, you set the location, I’ll freshen up and head over."
"Okay, in an hour, at the lobby on the first floor of the Sea Hotel near your home."
After hanging up, Qiao Mo still held her phone somewhat absent-mindedly, perhaps due to not being fully awake, her gaze dull and her mind not quite clear.
One hour later, Qiao Mo appeared punctually at the hotel entrance.
Before she could get close, she saw from afar a familiar figure standing at the hotel door, seemingly waiting for someone.
Qiao Mo paused her steps slightly, feeling somewhat conflicted.
The willow leaves of early spring had already sprouted tender green buds. He was dressed in a beige casual suit, white shirt, with a clean and warm face, just as she remembered.
As if sensing her gaze, he looked up at her and gave a slight smile.
Qiao Mo was a bit disoriented, feeling as if this moment were especially familiar, yet seemingly buried deep in memory.
Before she could walk over to him, he had already approached her.
While she was lost in thought, he had already stopped by her side.
Looking at her closely out of concern, he spoke gently, "How’s the injury? Does it still hurt?"
Qiao Mo shook her head, silently kept a distance as she followed beside him.
She’d never thought that one day, things between them would become this unfamiliar.
There was also an unusual gloominess in Jiang Jinghao’s eyes, yet he still thoughtfully matched her pace.
A few minutes later, they sat down in the hotel lobby, with the soothing music dispelling some awkwardness.
Qiao Mo held the white porcelain coffee cup in both hands, feeling its warmth, then looked up to study him, and softly said, "How is your health recovering? Are there any more surgeries?"
"No more, everything’s fine now." He smiled gently at her.
Qiao Mo nodded and looked at him, speaking again, "You... you’ve lost a lot of weight."
"Who wouldn’t lose weight when sick? Now that I’m recovering, it’ll just take a few days to gain back."
He still remained gentle and considerate, as if there had never been any misunderstanding or missed opportunities between them.
Qiao Mo nodded silently, not speaking further.
Jiang Jinghao scrutinized her for a while, warmly saying, "I heard from Qinghuan... you and Fu Nancheng have separated."
Qiao Mo was slightly surprised, not expecting him to know about this, she nodded and softly said, "Yes, I moved out a few days ago."
"Xiao Mo, why don’t we get married?" Jiang Jinghao looked directly at her, slowly saying.
Qiao Mo froze again, looking at Jiang Jinghao in disbelief, almost thinking her ears were playing tricks on her.
What... was he saying?
Married?
He said nothing, his gaze remained gentle, looking at her as if waiting for an answer.
A few minutes later, Qiao Mo finally returned to herself, lowering her gaze and softly said, "Jing Hao, I’ve been intimate with Fu Nancheng, does that not bother you at all?"
At mentioning this, it seemed he also recalled the scene he had personally witnessed of her being... a trace of pain slipped through his eyes.
