Chapter 261 Visitor (1)

Chapter 261 Visitor (1)

As if sensing a gaze from upstairs, Qiao Mo immediately looked up.But the railing upstairs was empty, with nothing there.

She frowned deeper. "Not a single guest room key was left?"

"Yes, for safety reasons, all the keys are periodically taken to the security department for re-registration."

Qiao Mo was frustrated, feeling utterly unconvinced.

Yet, she had no alternative but to go upstairs again.

Upon hearing the noise, Fu Nancheng hurriedly returned to the sofa, picked up his laptop, and maintained his previous posture, as if he hadn’t moved the entire time.

Qiao Mo sat angrily across from him.

What was she to do with the guest room door locked?

Shooting a fierce glance at the man opposite, Qiao Mo hugged a cushion and turned on the TV, planning to make do on the sofa for the night.

It wasn’t until eleven that Fu Nancheng finally put down his laptop.

He glanced at Qiao Mo and then turned to go to the bedroom.

Qiao Mo sulked alone on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket, watching a dull movie.

The living room lights were turned off by him as he left, leaving only the large TV emitting occasional sounds.

Approaching midnight, Qiao Mo was feeling drowsy. Fortunately, the sofa was comfortable enough, and she gradually fell asleep unknowingly.

Not until two in the morning was the bedroom door lightly opened.

Fu Nancheng carefully picked her up from the sofa.

He knew she was a light sleeper, so he had waited until now to venture out.

He gently placed her on the bed. Looking at her sleeping face, his gaze softened.

After giving her forehead a light kiss, he turned off the lights.

Qiao Mo, half-asleep, unknowingly snuggled towards the warm figure behind her, nestled in, and found a comfortable position to settle down.

The corners of his lips curved slightly, as if simply holding her meant owning the entire world.

The next morning, Qiao Mo woke up around nine.

Muddled, she opened her eyes and stared at the ceiling for quite a while before regaining clarity.

Her face turned a shade darker; no wonder she felt so warm last night!

Turning her head, she saw the spot beside her empty, and irritation crept in.

It just felt like an ill omen.

After washing up, she rushed to the living room, but he was nowhere to be seen.

The study door was closed, leaving her unsure whether he was inside or not.

She had a little breakfast and tried the guestroom door, but it remained locked.

Qiao Mo changed her clothes and headed downstairs, planning to find Uncle Zhong again.

She refused to believe that if she asked every day, the keys would continuously be taken away.

Yet as she reached downstairs, she noticed several figures in the living room on the first floor.

A woman and two men.

One was Fu Nancheng, sitting on one side of the sofa with a dark and cold aura, exuding a deep presence, like a king.

Opposite him was a woman Qiao Mo had seen at the mall, with a cool demeanor and indifferent eyes, embodying a transparent and ethereal beauty even while in a wheelchair.

Behind the woman’s wheelchair stood a man.

The man’s bangs obscured part of his face, yet he sharply detected her footsteps, slowly raising his eyes. His hawk-like eyes were proud and icy, as if a drawn sword, bringing a sense of menace!

With just one glance exchanged, Qiao Mo felt as if she was being targeted by a raptor, almost losing her balance, instinctively reaching out to steady herself with the railing.

Seeing her suddenly come downstairs, Fu Nancheng’s eyebrows imperceptibly knit tighter, his lips pressing into a thin line.

The woman in the wheelchair turned to scrutinize Qiao Mo, her ethereal eyes calm and unmoved, without a ripple of emotion.

Qiao Mo stood there awkwardly, having not expected there to be guests on the first floor at all.
