Dinner was still made by the cook. Because Ye Yuning liked her cooking, Xiao Linye had arranged for someone to cook there full-time. However, the cook still didn’t stay the night.Before dinner, Ye Yuning drank another bowl of medicine.

"This medicine is really bitter," Ye Yuning said, covering her mouth, feeling like she was going to throw up.

Xiao Linye handed her a cup of honey water. "Rinse your mouth."

Because of this jar of acacia honey, the cook had received a notice of a pay raise that day, so she prepared dinner with even more care.

Ye Yuning took the cup and drank half of it. The taste of the herbal medicine was diluted, and she finally felt a bit more comfortable.

For dinner, the cook stewed abalone with pig’s feet.

Xiao Linye chuckled lightly. "It’s good for girls to put on a little weight."

He thought she was currently too thin. She ate quite a lot, yet her frame remained slender. In Xiao Linye’s opinion, with Ye Yuning’s constitution, she probably didn’t need to worry about gaining weight.

Ye Yuning said, "That might be true, but if it gets out of control, it’s quite troublesome."

"You won’t."

"I will!" Ye Yuning insisted.

Xiao Linye raised an eyebrow at her, clearly unconvinced.

Ye Yuning asked, "Do you know how much I weighed when I was eleven?"

"How much?"

"Eighty-eight pounds! And I was only eleven then."

Clearly, Ye Yuning had been quite a chubby girl back then. So, based on her body type at that age, she likely had a constitution prone to weight gain.

Xiao Linye asked, "So why are you so thin now?"

"Maybe because I’m too tired?" Ye Yuning said, though she wasn’t entirely sure. "But it seems that ever since I started middle school, as the academic workload kept increasing, I slimmed down."

Hearing her say she was too tired made Xiao Linye’s brow twitch. He then placed a piece of abalone into her small bowl. "I offered you a position at Xiao Corporation, but you refused. Now you realize how tiring it is at Manlang?"

"Working at Xiao Corporation would be even more tiring!"

Is there any job that isn’t tiring? Ye Yuning considered her own studio, Manlang, to be the most relaxed place for designers in the industry. If she were at any other company, she would have been worked to the bone long ago.

When Xiao Linye heard this, he didn’t say anything more.

"Speaking of which," Ye Yuning began, "did Qin Jinchuan wait at the airport for our boss all night yesterday?"

Xiao Linye replied, "Hmm."

"You told him?" Ye Yuning exclaimed.

Xiao Linye nodded. "Yes."

Ye Yuning was momentarily speechless. Of course, it was Xiao Linye. When he’d asked that question at the time, I subconsciously assumed Qin Jinchuan had something to do with it. Xiao Linye explained, "We have an ongoing collaboration, and I’ve always been the one liaising with him, so we’re relatively familiar."

She was lying, as usual, without batting an eyelid.

But seeing Xiao Linye listen so intently, and how he always trusted her so readily, Ye Yuning felt a twinge of guilt.

Xiao Linye buried his face in the crook of her neck, greedily inhaling her scent.

Her fragrance was intoxicating! He missed her, missed her like crazy! In her presence, the self-control he had always prided himself on was utterly shattered.

Ye Yuning tensed up all over from his actions. "You... what are you doing?!"

"No more overtime in the future," he declared. "Your health comes first."

"I’m not tired!" Ye Yuning protested.

"Regardless, it’s not allowed." There was an undeniable authority in Xiao Linye’s tone.

"Fine, I’ll listen to you," Ye Yuning conceded.

When did this man become so domineering?

Hearing her obedient response, Xiao Linye also felt a little more at ease.
