Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 668: Off-Peak Travel

Chapter 668: Off-Peak Travel

"Watch your step."

Although Nora Northwood hadn’t drunk much, her steps were still unsteady.

The temperature inside the car was slightly higher than outside.

Jasper Sinclair helped Nora fasten her seatbelt and started the engine. She leaned her elbow on the window sill, tilted her head to look at the driver, her eyes filled with admiration.

The man’s profile contrasted sharply with the streetlights outside, making him appear more handsome and rugged.

At this moment, the dizziness in Nora’s head lessened significantly. She realized, belatedly, that she was indeed drunk.

No one at the drinking party, regardless of gender, liked to be told, "You’re drunk."

Nora was no exception.

"It’s a bit hot," she said as she unbuttoned her coat.

By the time she reached the second button, the car window was gently lowered, allowing the evening breeze to rush in.

The scent on Nora, mingled with a faint trace of alcohol, wafted into Jasper’s nose, but wasn’t overpowering.

He remembered that the after-effects of whiskey weren’t supposed to be strong, and he couldn’t help but doubt Nora’s words.

"Are you sure you only had two cups?"

Nora, in a muddled state, counted on her fingers for him: "The first one was to Finnian, then with several private enterprise executives she had potential partnerships with, and then..."

The events afterward were a bit hazy in her mind.

Back at Crimson Hill Villa, Jasper made a cup of honey water with warm water.

After drinking, Nora was exceptionally clingy.

Her small, fair hands wrapped around Jasper from behind, her head persistently nuzzling against him.

"Honey, you smell so good."

Something forgotten was brought up by Nora again, she said, "Actually, I designed a fragrance for you, a unique magnolia scent."

Jasper subtly tilted his head to the left rear, the motion wasn’t apparent, and his brow furrowed in sync.

Why was he unaware of this?

"And then?"

"You were annoying; I gave the fragrance to Grandma Sinclair."

Jasper vaguely remembered that Nora had indeed brought a bottle to Grandma during a previous argument.

Turns out, it was a gift for him."

Then he heard the person behind him say again: "It was our first-anniversary gift, but you ruined my anniversary."

Nora suddenly started dredging up old accounts without warning.

Jasper sensed he couldn’t let her continue, so he quickly turned around and handed her the stirred honey water, bringing it to her lips, "Is your throat dry? Have some water, be a good girl Nora."

With a tone as if coaxing a child, he managed to cover up the incident with both persuasion and deception.

Most likely, by tomorrow morning, Nora wouldn’t remember.

...

Things actually went as Jasper anticipated, after a night’s sleep, Nora woke up only feeling dizzy and completely forgot what she said the night before.

Jasper asked her, "Do you want to rest at home for a day?"

"No, today is the last workday, and there are several agendas."

Jasper couldn’t argue with such a workaholic; whatever she said was whatever it had to be.

Every Friday, Yvonne Winslow would spend the longest time in the office, comparable to the weekly report meeting on Monday.

"According to statutory holidays, routine work continues the day after tomorrow, does the work schedule need to be adjusted?"

"The day after tomorrow is in your hands, I probably won’t be at the company. Contact me for major matters by phone, minor issues you can handle yourself."

"Is it a staggered trip with Mr. Sinclair?"
