Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 656: Working Overtime With You

Chapter 656: Working Overtime With You

43rd Floor, CEO’s Office.

As Jasper Sinclair approached, he noticed that the office door was slightly ajar.

He unconsciously slowed his steps, his gaze sweeping over the towering stack of folders, observing Nora Northwood’s focused demeanor, her brow and eyes serene yet revealing a touch of seriousness.

"Ahem—" He cleared his throat, catching the worker’s attention.

Nora’s thoughts drifted from the files to reality as she beamed, "You’ve come over!"

Her cheerful voice was partly drowned out by the sound of raindrops against the window frame. Though she was not surprised by Jasper Sinclair’s arrival, having arranged it in advance, she was still delighted.

Then, she put aside the folder she was holding and walked over to Jasper Sinclair, taking tiny steps, and playfully asked him, "Have you missed me today?"

"Every day."

Nora squealed, saying he was truly cheesy.

The voice beside her suddenly deepened as Jasper Sinclair drew her into his arms and asked, "What about you? The whole day without messaging me, Chairman Nora?"

He deliberately emphasized the last few words, teasingly, his breath brushing against Nora’s ear, making her want to escape this embrace.

"I’ve been slacking lately, the company’s piled up with so many things that I wish I could split myself in two."

"Why not hire another assistant for you?"

"That’s not necessary, Yvonne Winslow is here, which is enough to handle things. If we hire someone else, I worry she might overthink."

Upon hearing this, Jasper Sinclair tapped her nose lightly, sighing slightly, "You, always considering things from others’ perspectives, need to think more about yourself, got it?"

"Got it."

Outside, the rain intensified.

The two discussed and decided to wait for the rain to lighten up before heading back, since they had plenty of time, and leaving now might mean getting stuck in traffic for an hour.

Not long after, Lily Sloan sent a message seeking help.

"Finnian Lawrence picked me up from work, and we’ve been stuck in traffic for twenty minutes. The car speed is like a tortoise vs. hare race, what should I do!"

It turned out that Nora Northwood and Jasper Sinclair’s decision was right.

She replied in the chat: "It shows even the heavens are helping you; a closed space fosters affection. Try chatting about where to travel during May Day holiday or the events from The Global Assembly, hang in there."

Having temporarily dealt with Lily Sloan’s issue, Nora Northwood refocused her energy on work.

Jasper Sinclair sat opposite her, likewise took out his laptop, and neither disturbed the other.

Nora Northwood had an aroma formula in hand that needed refinement; tonight’s focus was on determining the formula’s proportions.

Moderate rain turned to light rain.

The vehicles stuck on the road finally began to move.

Nora Northwood let out a long sigh, stretched, and said, "Mission accomplished."

The person opposite her closed his laptop a step ahead, watching the rain scene outside the floor-to-ceiling window.

Hearing her voice, he turned around, "Hungry?"

No sooner had it been mentioned, but her stomach began protesting, the "gurgling" sound serving as Nora’s answer.

On the way back, Jasper Sinclair had Uncle Kevin prepare dinner.

The Maybach drove into the underground garage just before raindrops unexpectedly became bean-sized, "pattering" against the car window, surprisingly startling.

After the fright came relief, Nora Northwood patted her chest, saying, "Luckily, we left early, or we would have been stuck on the road."

The driver parked the car steadily, and the group took the elevator from Level B2 directly to the villa’s gallery, without getting a single drop of rain.
