Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 640: Someone Exploited a Loophole

Chapter 640: Someone Exploited a Loophole

Since that day, Nora didn’t ask Lily what exactly happened.

Everything fell into place, starting the nine-to-six workday.

Seven o’clock.

The sound of intermittent water flow came from the bathroom. Jasper, adhering to the principle of early rising and late sleeping, was already freshening up.

There was still someone left in bed, lazily unwilling to move.

Only when the sound of water stopped abruptly did Nora stretch lazily; today was Sunday, and she could take a nap again after breakfast.

Moments later, the person in the bathroom came out and glimpsed Nora staring at the ceiling in a daze.

"Awake?"

Nora responded with a soft "mm" and a bit of a nasal tone.

"Do you have plans today? I need to go to the company and may not be back until afternoon."

The person in bed emerged from under the covers, still sleepy-eyed, and said, "I want to sleep at home. Is there an emergency at your company?"

"There’s a finance-related insurance project that has a slight issue; I need to keep an eye on it."

"Then I’ll go with you."

Nora, making a decision, quickly headed into the bathroom, speeding up her freshening up routine.

Meanwhile, Jasper went into the walk-in closet and picked out an outfit for each of them—his more formal suit, and Nora’s more comfort-oriented attire.

When he came out of the closet, Nora had just finished freshening up.

"Jasper, come here."

Upon hearing this, Jasper put down the tie he was halfway through knotting and walked toward her, asking, "What’s up?"

"Let me fix your tie."

The two drew closer, the man raised an eyebrow, as if he found it an amusing incident.

The two ends of the tie were already held in Nora’s palms, comparing their lengths to ensure they were even. She had slight OCD and needed them to be aligned before proceeding.

Jasper didn’t rush her; luckily, today wasn’t a workday, saving them from the car-to-car congestion of the morning rush.

A Windsor knot that could be finished in half a minute was drawn out to three prolonged minutes.

Fortunately, the end result was satisfying.

Nora felt very pleased with her handiwork and patted it a few times before stepping back.

Just as she was about to change clothes, her wrist was suddenly grabbed, causing her body to lurch forward due to inertia.

Jasper kissed the corners of her lips repeatedly, yet dared not to go deeper for fear of ruining subsequent plans.

It was the season of Grain Rain.

Outside the gauzy windows, the daylight was overwhelming.

Nora half-jokingly said, "Feels like it’s going to rain, let’s hurry up and go."

They skipped breakfast and went straight to the underground parking lot.

Uncle Kevin chased after them from behind, "Mr. Sinclair, Ma’am, you can’t leave breakfast uneaten."

He knew that Jasper didn’t have the habit of eating in the car, so he packed it in disposable boxes.

The car drove out of the underground parking lot, and Nora lowered the window to let the air in, faintly smelling the scent of osmanthus in the garden.

She squinted her eyes, lazily like a Persian cat, softly saying, "Jasper, once we’re done, let’s buy some osmanthus cakes."

"Sounds good."

They arrived at the company, where Louis Hayes was also working overtime.

He was in a rush, as if something serious had happened.

When he spoke, he hesitated, wary of "outsiders" present.

The outsider referred to Nora, as she was the wife of the chairman of The Sinclair Group, but not part of the company.

She’s not clueless, rather she’s quite smart.

She naturally understood Louis was mindful of the hierarchy, making it difficult for him to mention it first.

Nora smiled, ready to find an excuse to leave, but Jasper beat her to it, "Go ahead, how’s the investigation going?"
