Chapter 621: No Slacking Off at Work

Chapter 621: No Slacking Off at Work

"Do you want to try a slice?"

"There’s no reason to snatch things from a patient." Aunt Hutchinson smiled, saying she couldn’t, but her body was very honest as she accepted it.

Jasper Sinclair interjected, "After we finish eating, we’ll go home. The driver has already arrived."

Upon hearing the words "go home," Nora Northwood happily stuffed both orange slices into her mouth, and as her teeth came together, the sweet and sour juice burst on her tongue, stimulating her senses.

The medical staff brought over a wheelchair, and Nora sat in it, letting Jasper Sinclair push her away.

It was dusk, the sky awash with orange light, indescribably beautiful.

Nora called out, "Give me my phone, I want to take a picture!"

Having been busy with work before, now stopping to notice, she realized she had missed many views.

Villa area.

Uncle Kevin, having heard the news of their return, had been waiting by the iron gate since early morning.

Seeing the Maybach driving closer from a distance, his heart jumped joyously.

Nora struggled to get out of the car, then sat in the wheelchair and was taken over by Uncle Kevin, "Madam, have you been comfortable staying in the hospital these past days?"

"Not comfortable at all."

Now that she had someone to talk to, Nora opened up, telling Uncle Kevin all the ins and outs of her hospital experiences.

Though the topic wasn’t necessarily enriching, her storytelling was always lively.

To celebrate Nora’s discharge, the kitchen aunt had prepared a table full of dishes.

She regretfully said, "I should have let Aunt Hutchinson stay and have dinner with us."

"It’s okay, she can come next time."

During dinner, Nora brought up work matters, "Tomorrow I’d like to visit the company."

Her idea was unhesitatingly rejected by Jasper Sinclair.

"You’ve just come out of the hospital; right now, the most important thing is to rest well at home. If anything else happens, it won’t just be as simple as a fracture."

Under the man’s stern warning, Nora temporarily gave up the thought of returning to work.

However, there was another surprise.

The place across from the study, originally meant for a child’s learning space, had been renovated. They weren’t currently planning to conceive or prepare for a child, so Jasper invited someone to remodel it.

After the renovation, it became a small fragrance room, not up to VK’s current scale but more than enough for Nora to pass the time.

This time, she no longer clamored about going to work.

Elaine learned about her fracture and immediately came over to accompany her.

"You had such a big incident, why didn’t you tell mom?"

Elaine, feeling both concerned and a little upset about her daughter.

"It’s not a big deal, the doctor said it just needs some rest to get better, telling you more would only worry you unnecessarily."

The two discussed, with Elaine deciding to stay for half a month to help take care of Nora, allowing Jasper Sinclair to have some time to go to work; indeed, recovery from serious injuries couldn’t simply have him stuck at home forever.

That night.

Nora shared her thoughts and was surprised it didn’t receive any opposition from him.

She pondered, realizing work matters must be piling up more and more.

"Aunt Hutchinson will stay here with you, which gives me more peace of mind. I’ve already asked Louis Hayes to cancel unnecessary engagements and meetings, but I’ll go to Melbourne next week."

"Feel free to go, it’s just a minor fracture; I’m not incapacitated, so I won’t hinder your important tasks."

As bedtime approached, Jasper Sinclair turned off the fluorescent lighting, leaving only the bed-side dim night lamp on; the two continued talking under the warm yellowish glow.

"If you get bored, you can invite your friends over."
