Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 601: In Poor Health

Chapter 601: In Poor Health

Nora Northwood contemplated: Should I visit Grandpa in Linwood City before going to Paris?

Soon, she dismissed the idea. The most pressing matter was ensuring the exhibition went smoothly.

"Once this busy period is over, let’s have a baby."

Jasper Sinclair proposed this while lying on his side next to Nora.

Nora, busy replying to a few company messages, didn’t take it to heart and casually said, "Sure."

He asked, "Do you prefer a brother or a sister?"

Nora’s hands didn’t stop, she perfunctorily replied, "Either is fine."

Jasper couldn’t stand it any longer, snatched her phone away, and pinned her down beneath him.

...

That month, Nora’s usually punctual period went MIA.

When she realized this, she was a bit panicked, as she wasn’t planning on getting pregnant just yet.

Compared to her panic, Jasper was more excited, which led to a disagreement between them.

One wanted to go to the hospital for a checkup, the other wanted to simplify things by buying a test kit to check themselves.

In the end, the latter won.

When it showed only one line, Nora felt mixed emotions, unsure of what words to use to describe the feeling—both relieved and disappointed.

Jasper still insisted on his view, wanting to take her to the hospital for a blood test.

Nora claimed, "My routine’s been chaotic for the past few months; it’s common for young people today to have irregular periods."

After fussing for a while, she got a bit tired, closed her eyes, and leaned against the pillow.

"Grandma knows an old Chinese medicine doctor; I’ll take you to see him in the morning."

"Tomorrow’s not possible, there’s a flight to Paris at noon."

"I’ll take you to the airport afterwards; we’ll make it."

Jasper looked at her serene face, pinching her cheek here and there, insisting on annoying her.

"If you don’t sleep, get off my bed!"

The man chuckled, unbothered, his thumb brushing over her chattering little mouth.

Her delicate lips.

"Sleep, we’ll talk after you wake up."

The next day.

Nora was still dragged to the traditional medicine clinic, which was said to have a history of over half a year in Stanton City.

She hesitated at the threshold, tugging on Jasper’s sleeve, making a final struggle: "Maybe we should just forget it; I can’t stand the bitterness even before stepping in, it’s just a waste of effort."

"I’ll supervise you every day, and I didn’t say you must drink herbal medicine; just let the doctor check your pulse first."

Under Jasper’s coaxing, Nora stepped over the threshold.

Under the incandescent light, every corner was filled with the sour bitterness of herbal medicine, causing one to frown.

They were greeted by an elderly man with a white beard.

"Grandpa Hall."

Jasper adopted a humble attitude, something rare for him even in business settings, just to quickly adjust Nora’s health.

Nora followed by his side, mimicking his manner, obediently greeting, "Hello, Grandpa Hall."

"You young couple, quickly sit down and let Grandpa take a good look at you."

They spent some time in the clinic, waiting for the medicine to be prepared, and missed their flight to Paris.

Nora received a barrage of calls from colleagues, to which she responded reassuringly, "Handling a personal matter briefly, wait for me in Paris; I’ll catch the next flight, and meet at the hotel."

Fortunately, they had some leeway, having planned to arrive in Paris three days before the exhibition started.
