Chapter 526: Give Me Some Time

Chapter 526: Give Me Some Time

"Aunt Hutchinson, today’s news came as a complete surprise to me. I need some time to process it, I hope you don’t mind."

Nora Northwood’s emotions, which she had finally managed to calm down, surged back like waves.

Anyone else would probably be happy.

But she didn’t feel much happiness; instead, what overwhelmed her was unease.

Elaine observed her subtle expressions, feeling disappointed inside, but hid it well, not showing a trace.

Right about then, Vincent Morgan pushed the door open and came in.

"It’s getting late. I’ll take Nora home."

When he called her name, his tone was natural, and his gesture of handing Nora her coat was fluid and smooth.

Before leaving, Nora left behind another remark: "Jasper and I are divorced, Aunt Hutchinson, please don’t tell him yet."

Though surprised, Elaine agreed.

After they left, she walked alone to the window, looking at the lush greenery, falling into contemplation.

She wondered: Was she too eager to recognize the relationship today?

She wanted to explore the meaning behind Nora’s expressions but found no way to start, silently shedding tears that fell one by one onto the marble countertop.

...

The atmosphere inside the closed car cabin was odd.

Nora surmised that Vincent also knew about this matter. The stagnant air made it hard for her to breathe, and her frail figure trembled slightly under the restraint of the seatbelt.

The driver noticed her change, checked the current temperature; neither too cold nor too hot, just right.

A silence ensued.

When the car arrived at the small villa, Nora shrank her neck and murmured a soft thank you.

"You are Master’s family, there’s no need to be polite with me. You could call me senior brother if you wish."

"Morgan, that’s a bit of a cold joke."

Nora currently wasn’t in the mood for jokes; she just wanted to get home, take a hot bath, and wash away the exhaustion.

Vincent chuckled, "Alright, head upstairs, rest early, and call me anytime if you need anything."

Then, the two bid farewell and left.

Vincent waited until the villa’s lights were on before driving away.

In mid-September, there’s a high-end brand exhibition, with the Morgan Family as one of the organizers. Nora received an invitation and attended, accompanied by Lily Sloan.

This exhibition’s location was set by the seaside, with the theme "Facing Azure," which held a deep meaning.

The models were already prepared, waiting obediently under the temporarily built stage.

The outdoor temperature was twenty degrees, it would be a few degrees lower by the sea, and seeing their exposed skin, Nora felt a chill all over.

"Nora, look over there!"

Lily Sloan leaned beside her, pointing in one direction.

Nora followed her gaze to not far ahead, standing on the side of the stage was a man with a commanding presence.

Who else could exude such presence but Jasper Sinclair?

She turned her head and said, with slight coyness, "I’m no longer connected to him."

The fact that they were divorced hadn’t been publicly disclosed, so those in the know could be counted on one hand.

"I roughly estimate that there are at least eight media outlets invited here. If you two keep acting like this, it can’t escape the journalists’ eyes. When they start fabricating stories, it might affect both The Sinclair Group and VK."

Halfway through the conversation, Lily even raised her wrist and gestured a numerical ’eight’ with her fingers.
