Chapter 523: Is She My Daughter?
Chapter 523: Is She My Daughter?
"Finn, are you saying there’s news?" Elaine’s voice became choked with emotion.
After so many years, she finally awaited this day.
The breeze stirred.
The sweet scent of osmanthus filled the air.
The southern climate had its advantages; no matter the month, you could see lush green leaves and various flowers.
Vincent Morgan inhaled deeply in this fragrance, confidently telling Elaine, "Yes, Master, and this person is right by our side."
At this moment, she had lost the ability to think, only wanting to know where her biological daughter was.
Vincent took out a repeatedly folded test report from his suit pocket.
"This is your DNA test result."
On the report were two bold, blackened names: Elaine, Nora Northwood.
"Nora, Nora..."
Elaine’s face turned a shade paler, a weight pressing on her chest.
It turned out that fate had already sent her daughter to her side, yet she had failed to notice all this time!
She was remorseful and self-reproachful, wishing to announce this news to the world.
Soon, Elaine calmed down.
She began to consider another question: would her daughter blame her?
Blame her for not having the ability back then, for failing to keep her...
After regaining her composure, she asked Vincent, "When did you find out?"
"A while back, on the way home from dropping Nora off, I showed her a baby photo. Her expression was off, which made me recall a blood transfusion incident at the hospital, so I secretly conducted the test."
"So, she already knows!" Elaine stated.
She quickly put on her shoes, returning from the backyard to the living room, the jingling of small bells on her linen skirt echoing as Vincent followed behind, curious about her actions.
Oh! She was going to get her phone!
Elaine originally wanted to contact Nora directly but felt such a move was too abrupt.
She chose a different approach and contacted Jasper Sinclair, "Jasper, are you available these days? Is Nora with you?"
On the other end of the line came a few coughs, then Jasper’s voice, "I’m quite busy at the beginning of the month, and Nora is on a business trip to Germany. Her flight back to Stanton City is tonight."
"I need to discuss something with her. Do you have her flight information?"
"She didn’t tell me specifically, but I can ask her secretary for you and get back to you later."
After the call ended, Elaine asked Vincent to prepare the car, readying herself to personally meet Nora at the airport.
"And reserve a restaurant as well."
"Understood."
Evening, 7:30 PM.
Nora landed, finally returning to her familiar hometown, with the air feeling exceptionally fresh.
Accompanying her, besides Lily Sloan, were also Finnian Lawrence and his assistant.
Despite the long journey, Finnian maintained his composure, not at all like someone who had been on a plane for over ten hours.
After collecting her luggage, Nora turned off flight mode, and as soon as her phone reconnected to the signal, a call came through.
The caller ID displayed Elaine’s name.
During the overtime work period in Germany, she almost forgot her connection to Elaine.
Now, her heart was filled with complexity, unsure what emotions to use to face this woman who might be her birth mother.
The ringtone lasted for half a minute, and Lily leaned over to ask, "Why aren’t you answering your phone?"
Nora felt a bit flustered; she hadn’t figured out what to say.
She thought Elaine was still unaware of these matters, so she decided to be rude once and pretend not to see the incoming call.
