Flash Marriage: She becomes Mrs. CEO after the Failed Dowry Talk

Chapter 519: Equity Change

Chapter 519: Equity Change

Under Nora Northwood’s leadership, VK has risen with such intensity, it can be called a legend in the industry.

She raised her eyes again, the blue light from the screen reflecting in her pupils, and asked Yvonne Winslow a question: "Are you curious why there’s been a change in the shares?"

Yvonne was someone who understood how to read the room—she roughly guessed what had happened, but hadn’t anticipated things would become so severe.

"You and Director Sinclair." She only uttered those four words, and didn’t further probe.

Nora’s gaze remained calm and she began to explain the cause and effect, "We aren’t suitable for each other. VK will only have the Northwood name from now on, and without a business giant as a backing, there may be situations hard to handle at any time, even the possibility of bankruptcy. If I say this, will you still follow me?"

When Megan was introduced to VK by Jasper Sinclair, she should put such things out in the open.

"I don’t care about these things, but I really like my current job."

After Yvonne expressed her thoughts, Nora got up from her chair, walked to the front of the desk, leaned her hips against the desk edge, and said jokingly, "Yvonne, you’re truly not afraid of losing everything."

"I’ve got some savings, even if the company collapses, I won’t starve. Maybe I can even take you with me on a world tour."

"Alright."

The two exchanged glances for a while, then burst into laughter.

Similar conversations happened among others like Megan Underwood. Everyone took this opportunity to once again show their loyalty to VK.

The changes in work were temporarily concluded.

...

Jasper’s brief "Alright" had definitely disrupted Nora Northwood’s mood.

To quickly adjust her mindset, she filled her daily schedule to the brim and flew to Germany in early September, trying to immerse herself in work to numb her feelings.

Germany’s autumn is a bit colder than Stanton City.

By not even six o’clock, the sky had turned completely overcast, unlike the clear blue at home, it had the ink-like hue of falling into an abyss, invoking fear.

Nora stepped out of an office building, facing the cold wind, with Lily Sloan accompanying her on this business trip.

According to the schedule, the two would meet at the hotel and then deal with their hunger.

Nora had been busy all day and had only eaten a sandwich in the morning; she hadn’t even had the time to drink water. Lily’s situation wasn’t much better.

"Nora, being the boss yourself is really tough!"

In the hotel, Lily spoke with a bit of a sob in her voice, sounding adorably nasal.

A week of high-intensity work had made her lose quite a bit of weight; her collarbones were more pronounced than before.

Nora felt a little heartache for her friend, unsure if her hardship was mental or physical.

She only asked, "Did you encounter any difficult things today?"

Lily sniffed, "It’s not really something difficult, maybe I’m too sensitive, a bit overwhelmed by the setbacks."

Later, Nora learned from her mouth that a project communication had encountered trouble.

Lily wasn’t very fluent in German, and the translator they hired locally had taken leave unexpectedly without giving her a valid reason. She couldn’t find anyone, so she had to bite the bullet and conduct the talks herself.

After the whole session of negotiations, the client felt her attitude towards work wasn’t serious enough, refusing to entrust her with the project, resulting in them not securing it.
