Chapter 485: The Chef Changes Careers
Chapter 485: The Chef Changes Careers
Half an hour passed, and Nora Northwood’s stomach started to rumble. Fortunately, the sound was covered by the volume from the microphone.
Several industry leaders gave speeches in succession, leaving her puzzled as to why the man next to her didn’t say a few words.
Watching Jasper Sinclair’s casual demeanor, she suddenly understood. He disdained using these occasions to elevate himself.
The glaring fame and fortune in the room meant nothing to him; given his status, a flick of his finger would bring him anything he wanted.
Nora Northwood snapped back from her thoughts, and when she was dizzying from hunger, the appetizers were finally served.
Cantonese-style three-shredded rolls, white asparagus, savory sturgeon tendon—dish after dish of visually and tastefully delightful delicacies dazzled her eyes.
The only flaw was that they had cooled somewhat, causing some dishes to lose their original flavor.
The dishes were arranged neatly, and people around her started picking up their chopsticks eagerly; Nora had been impatient for a long time.
She picked up her cutlery and put a piece of three-shredded roll in her mouth, tasting the chef’s improvement on the original recipe.
Suddenly, a thought popped into her mind: if the chef switched to being a perfumer, wouldn’t he have a groundbreaking career?
She thought it, and she acted on it.
"Mr. Sinclair, do you know the background of the chef invited here today?"
"I’m not sure," Jasper Sinclair answered truthfully and, seeing her quite interested, added: "If you like, you can invite him to your home."
The home he referred to was ambiguous; whose home?
"Can you find someone to introduce me? I’d like to meet him!"
"Sure, I’ll arrange it after the banquet ends."
"Thank you."
Nora Northwood withdrew her gaze and continued savoring the delicacies, rinsing her mouth with a sip of water after each dish.
The waiter standing by, waiting, thought the dishes didn’t suit the tastes of the bosses today, feeling uneasily worried inside.
As the dinner party progressed halfway, Nora felt about sixty to seventy percent full, careful not to overeat.
Seeing her put down the cutlery, Jasper Sinclair spoke: "I’ll take you to see the chef."
"So soon?" She was a bit surprised but quickly nodded, "Let’s go."
The two left side by side, while a few keen eyes followed their departing direction.
The organizer’s child led the way, commenting, "I should’ve arranged more dishes, knowing Mrs. Sinclair likes it."
Nora Northwood chuckled and replied politely, "It wouldn’t be proper; dishes count should remain as intended."
Everyone knew well that attending such events was not purely about eating and drinking.
Seize a long-term connection, and maybe one’s lifestyle in the latter half of life could be worry-free.
For example: Mrs. Sinclair.
Earlier, Nora Northwood maintained a high ground and avoided associating VK with the surname "Sinclair."
After experiencing so much, she began to understand—why not utilize the readily available resources around her?
With a single word from Jasper Sinclair, VK could avoid a decade of detours and step onto the international stage ahead of time.
This was one of the reasons she attended today.
Quickly, the trio arrived at the kitchen. Compared to the lavish front hall, it held more of a homely atmosphere.
"Mrs. Sommers, welcome to my little sanctuary," the head chef greeted the organizer warmly, and the two seemed familiar with each other.
Nora also learned from the head chef that the organizer’s married surname was Sutton.
She quickly searched in her mind, trying to figure out the background of the Sutton family in Stanton City.
After thinking for quite a while, she still couldn’t figure it out.
