Chapter 410: The Twenty-Four Solar Terms
Chapter 410: The Twenty-Four Solar Terms
The crispy-skinned pigeon was placed on an embossed porcelain dish, exquisite like a piece of art.
After lunch, Nora Northwood declined Finnian Lawrence’s offer to escort her, not wanting to take up too much of his time.
Back at VK, she began preparing for the brand’s inauguration ceremony, while also inquiring about the progress in the lab.
"A month and a half’s duration, twenty-four fragrance types, we need to work overtime recently. Let’s push our limits together and aim for one big hit to make VK famous."
To speed up the process, Nora also joined the fragrance blending, wrapped tightly in a large lab coat.
The fragrance lab was filled with a mixture of different scents, creating an indescribable sense of dissonance.
Nora put on a mask and mixed according to the formulas meticulously.
During the blending process, she shone even more brightly than when discussing collaborations outside, her dense eyelashes casting shadows, outlining her slightly upturned eyes.
The translucent glass reagents reflected her masked face.
After re-confirming the proportions and fragrance types, she labeled the two reagents: Cold Dew and Descending Frost.
Though she only blended two bottles of essential oils, it took almost three hours of effort.
Fragrance blending is inherently a task that tests one’s patience.
Leaving the fragrance lab, Nora then checked on Megan Underwood’s side.
The two new perfumers were under her guidance.
All six essential oils for the first quarter were blended, each representing a different solar term.
The flavors of January’s Major Cold and Minor Cold were not particularly distinct, which inadvertently eased some of their burden.
Similarly, there were Light Snow and Heavy Snow assigned to Nora.
Counting up, they had already completed a third of the progress bar.
After ensuring everything was on track, Nora returned to her office.
At her computer desk, she habitually opened her email to check for any new messages.
Coincidentally, at the very moment she opened it, a new email appeared, sent one second ago.
The sender’s name, Elaine, surprised Nora greatly.
The email content was straightforward, with just a glance, one could grasp everything.
It was an invitation to a forum about aromatherapy, with a line attached: "This forum might be helpful to you. If you want to attend, you need to take three days off."
Nora was aware of this forum and indeed wished to attend very much.
However, VK’s reputation outside was still at the studio stage, and she personally couldn’t have received an invitation to a forum of such a level.
After pausing for a brief few seconds, Nora found Elaine in her WeChat contacts. She opened their chat window, "Thank you, Aunt Hutchinson, I’ll make time for the forum."
She then added a cute emoji.
A few minutes later, Elaine replied with one word: "Okay."
During those few minutes, Nora stared at the invitation displayed on the screen, grinning foolishly multiple times.
The sound of knocking came from outside, prompting Nora to call out, "Come in."
She realized that having such a large office had its downsides, such as having to raise her voice a lot whenever inviting someone in, unlike in the past when she was more gentle.
The person who came in was Jasper Sinclair.
In addition to himself, he brought a bouquet of pink roses, "Nora, I was wrong yesterday."
He brought the flowers, his eyes almost overflowing with gentleness, and placed the bouquet in front of her desk.
"Since it’s all in the past, there’s no need to mention it anymore."
