Chapter 404: Finding an Investor
Chapter 404: Finding an Investor
The honking from the surroundings interrupted Nora Northwood’s train of thought, and she blocked her ears with a slight irritation.
The Sinclair Group, reception room.
"The boss’s meeting is delayed by five minutes, please wait a moment."
Louis Hayes prepared her afternoon tea while explaining the reason for Jasper Sinclair’s tardiness.
Taking advantage of the time before anyone arrived, Nora Northwood looked around the reception room.
She had entered this building many times, but never this place. This time, in a different capacity, she felt an inexplicable sense of wonder.
About seven or eight minutes later, someone pushed open the door to the reception room from outside.
Nora reflexively sat up straight.
The other person got straight to the point: "Nora, I invited you over to discuss the investment in VK formally."
"Fifty million, thirty-four percent equity, with major decisions granting you a decisive vote."
"Is that your bottom line?"
"That’s just my bottom line for you." Suddenly, Nora smiled, revealing a small snaggletooth.
Others would love to exchange two million for a majority stake in VK, but only Jasper Sinclair worried about not offering enough.
"It seems you’re still not too eager for me to get involved."
"As facts have proven, it’s not a matter of what I want or don’t want to decide. Sometimes, you have to accept fate."
As their eyes met, Nora felt uncomfortable under his gaze and couldn’t help blinking.
A week ago, she had confidently declared that she would find new investors.
Within no more than seven days, all she was left with was talk of "accepting fate."
Jasper knew where her inner conflict lay and added, "This investment is in a personal capacity, unrelated to The Sinclair Group. If anyone asks, you can also say it’s someone with money to burn trying out an adventure."
Fifty million? An adventure?
Standing behind, Louis couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth; indeed, the pleasures of the wealthy are quite mundane!
"I wish us a pleasant cooperation," Jasper said as he leaned slightly forward and extended his hand toward Nora.
"It will certainly be pleasant."
Nora took great care of her hands, with skin so tender that it was hard to let go.
After the discussion ended, she began formally preparing the new contract.
The fifty million funding would be disbursed in four stages, with the first installment of twenty million due to higher liquidity needs in the early phase, and the remaining installments at ten million each.
Jasper Sinclair’s funds arrived very quickly.
Once credited to VK, Nora spent the night selecting equipment, preparing to first improve the lab.
In her spare time, she didn’t forget she needed to attend Dr. Sawyer’s lecture on the thirteenth of the next month.
In the blink of an eye, VK had been running officially for half a month.
About half of the ground floor lobby had been converted into an exhibition hall, still selling some fragrance products externally.
Currently, aside from the five main team members, there were only a few externals store clerks left.
Nora restructured and decided to hire a few perfumers to work with her and Megan Underwood in designing new products.
Previously, to control the company’s costs, she saved wherever possible.
However, after all these busy days, she increasingly felt overwhelmed.
Recruiting new staff has become a top priority.
Yvonne Winslow posted job listings on various platforms, and everyone shared them extensively in their circles.
Due to specialization and brand constraints, few people applied.
Some just wanted to get a half-year internship certificate.
Nora felt exhausted, realizing that things couldn’t continue like this; they needed industry leaders.
