Chapter 401: Partners
Chapter 401: Partners
The next day.
Nora shared her ideas and the new company address with a few key personnel at the studio.
Five young girls gathered around the conference table, discussing for nearly an afternoon, and finally reached a conclusion.
They have the industry’s top perfumer and an all-encompassing executive, the only thing missing is money.
That alone is enough to halt them in their tracks.
Nora used VK’s profits and her personal bonuses to barely renovate a laboratory, as for other projects... it’s hard to explain.
Lily proposed, "I have a little stash that can be used as investment capital."
Since the brand needs to be developed, they require more professional equipment; even a mass spectrometer costs millions, not to mention other expenses.
So, the urgent task is to find a wealthy investor.
After discussions, Nora threw in a year’s worth of VK’s profits as the first operational fund.
Everyone supported her decision, so the whole process went very smoothly.
The search for investors thus began.
Each person was assigned different tasks, Megan Underwood needed to combine past experiences to update VK’s new ideas, promotion and public relations were entrusted to Yvonne Winslow, and the venue relocation was tasked to Lily Sloan.
For a while, everyone was in a rush.
One day, Annie privately asked Nora, "Jasper Sinclair is so wealthy, why not ask him to pitch in?"
"He’s helped me more times than I can count on two hands. Being a perfumer is my passion, and I hope to rely on myself to make it flourish."
"Nora, you’re the most special person I’ve ever met."
Annie had always admired this twenty-something girl; she didn’t have such grit at that age.
She often wondered if Nora had been born in Romara, she wouldn’t be any less capable than Jasper Sinclair.
By the end of April, the original studio completely moved to the new VK company, and the brand’s philosophy was redefined.
Next, they need to recruit more perfumers and order related instruments.
Which means they need money, a lot of money.
Annie, with her extensive network, was tasked along with Nora to find an investor.
In three days, they met with at least ten people.
Some thought a group of girls couldn’t stir much of a storm, some proposed holding half of VK’s shares, and others only wanted to invest little but earn big.
Ultimately, they didn’t find the right person.
With April slipping away, Nora became more anxious by the day.
Louis Hayes conveyed her recent plight to Jasper Sinclair, "Every day of the brand’s operation requires huge costs; if funding isn’t secured soon, madam might not hold on."
Jasper Sinclair, in a bespoke suit, pressed a few fingers on his tie and loosened it, "Arrange a meeting for me with Dr. Sawyer."
"Alright, boss, you have a two-hour window free tomorrow afternoon."
That evening, Jasper Sinclair had a more in-depth conversation with Nora regarding the investors.
His approach was quite casual, almost making it seem like a mere offhand remark.
Nora frowned, "I can’t reach an agreement with them, my hard-fought enthusiasm is about to be worn away."
"Why don’t you consider me as the investor?"
Finally, Jasper Sinclair asked the question he had long kept in his heart.
